In the properties for that program (the [Caution: Executable File] or shortcut) there should be a checkbox saying "run in xp mode" or else a drop down, "run in compatability mode for". ok, so i googled around and found a solution. disabling my sound card. but i have no sound now...but my ping is back to normal...whyy does it have to be sound =[[...

well nothing has really changed except the computer. i have the same router, same internet provider, same internet modem, same antenna. yes, everything is installed properly too.

no one is stealing my internet btw, i have a wpa2 protection thing on it, and yes, the router is wireless. i did the pingtest thing too. edit: i chose canada btw, because 1. its far away, hopefully showing any issues. 2. canada is where the crossfire server is located

internet connection has nothing to do with it... :wall: your trying to tell me it is? no. your wrong. my internet connection has been the same since i had my old computer, which had windows xp. now that i got a new computer with windows 7 all my pings have gone up. i've googled "high ping windows 7" and im not the only one with the problem.

pretty much every "fps" game i play, i have a higher ping. on css its not too much higher, only around 60-70, when it was ~12 before. and on crossfire, my ping went from ~35 to ~220. i've searched 5 diff forums, googled around, posted on the forums of crossfire hoping some1 knows what to do, but nothing. im hoping some1 here knows what to do, this forum is probably the smartest one i've gone to. lol. so yeah, thanks for reading this. and stuff

i've only got two memories. there not exactly the first day i started playing, but there near it. the very first account i made, i was walking near varrock i think, and some guy gave me a staff of air. i was excited and i felt rich. i had to go run and show my brother :P my second memory was when i made a lil cash, i bought a steel plate , steel full helm, and black platelegs. i felt like a boss. no doubt. i was showing off to people by tradeing them, putting the items up, pressing accept on the first screen, accept on the second screen then declineing the trade right away :P. didnt end well, i ended up loseing my armor and was mad. good ol' noob days.

You got 23 slayer 24 flech and 29 thief in a day O.O i got 25 slayer on my gmaul pure in 1 day. i used vananka (gg spelling..i think o.O) tho. so i had tasks like lessers. my gmaul pure is lvl 56 too. just sayin. idk bout 29 thief ontop of 23 slay and 24 fletch tho.

yeah knowing jagex's sense of humor i'd like to bet they're joking with us I would be surpised if they didn't have WoW installed. If you were running a company, wouldn't you want to know what your biggest competitor is up to? others would argue that playing the competition would lead to imitation rather than innovation. I'd be willing to bet Employees who work on WoW also play runescape. Nothing wrong with keeping up with the competition, plus, WoW isn't the ONLY game jagex could have gotten the Constitution update from... May I ask how the constitution update is imitation of any game at all? They simply moved the decimal place to the right on everything... Doesn't really take copying another game to add that feature. As for the WoW installed, no surprise really... and no surprise if many of the Jagex workers play it regularly. Just because you design a game, doesn't mean that you hate/can't play your competitors' games. [/hide] Innovative [cabbage] like that couldn't have come from Jagex, for sure.
