I lasted played RuneScape during the summer of 2006. I'm not exactly sure why, but I was sitting around bored one day when I somehow ran into something related RS. I had a main, and a tank pure before I stopped playing. I decided to try out the newer RS on my tank, so I put in the CC information and I was a member again within a few minutes. As soon as I logged in I changed everything to full detail, or HD. With 4xAA applied and full screen 1680x1050 resolution, I was amazed at how much better RS looked, especially when I did comparisons to SD. Everything looked so clean and smooth. I love the HD version. Taking a quick walk around the world, it seemed like every player had an item wielded that I have never seen before. Looking through my bank account, I had about 1.5M in cash and items, and with no good skills to make money, I thought maybe I'd give merchanting a shot. But I read about Grand Exchange killing merchanting, so I wasn't expecting to make very much. I was wrong. I think GE is one of the best things Jagex has ever come up with. I went from 1.5M to 15M in 2 weeks using GE, and the best part about it - I didn't have to be there! Thanks to GE I am also finding ways to raise stats without spending a penny, and even profiting, which 3 years ago would have sounded absurd. And about the trade limit - I like it. Rarely have I seen any beggars annoying the crap out of people. The PvP worlds - awesome, nothing really else to say about them. I feel like the community is a bit more mature than it was 3 years ago as well, which is a great thing. RS has the potential to really become great. Some of my suggestions... 1) Remove the distance fog, and add a custom distance slider. 2) Add a dynamic weather system with day/night cycles (optional to turn off). 3) Customizable hotkeys for spells, changing equipment on the fly, and etc. Point and click is, but I feel it one of RS's major downsides. 4) Really make range a more dynamic skill. Split it up into accuracy, speed, and power. Give people say 3 points for every range level to raise those, which would ultimately determine the style of ranging. One level 70 ranger may be accurate and powerful, while another may be accurate and quick, but less powerful. You get the point. That's all I can think of for now. I'm not sure how long I will stick around, but 2009 RS >>> 2006 RS.
