  1. Well, it's kind of hard to enjoy something when you've played something else that provided a similar and much better experience. As you can maybe tell, I'm not exactly the grinding type. I play what I enjoy, and this... I simply find no enjoyment. Hopefully this will change in the future. A failure of a start for me, but at least it starts from rock bottom for me and can't possibly get any worse! :P If you think I'm joking - there's one main reason I play RuneScape now - to play the market. I don't like fishing. I don't like mining. I don't like combat training. I don't part-take in any of that anymore. My stats, and everything else are a mere reflection of the only thing I really enjoy in RS now these days - and that's to play the market. You may enjoy grinding to a 2200+ total level, but that's just not for me. My stats are very lopsided - and that's never going to change, because my fishing, mining, and etc will never be leveled because I do not enjoy those skills. But I do actually really enjoy farming because it is a very casual skill which brings in money so I can... play the market. ;)
  2. Nah, thats like saying "If I enjoy questing I might as well play city of heroes instead of WoW just for the quests". You clearly missed the point. You can play both CoH and WoW, but if one aspect in one game is clearly better (and assuming you play both games regularly, and not just one and not even once the other), it's doubtful you'd spend much time doing the same in the other game (unless you enjoy grinding). Luckily for me I've never really played other MMORPGs, so I find RuneScape pretty good, but as far as the "dungeon experience" goes - countless single players have done just that. Maybe some of you find this new skill fun, which is good for you. But for me unfortunately, I don't like it all (as of now). It just feels like another mini-game, most of which I got bored with after a few days at most. :(
  3. I actually liked Slayer, Farming when the were released. I was more or less neutral with Construction. I wasn't around for the Hunter and Summoning releases. But seriously, I don't find this dungeon mini-game fun at all. It's kind of hard to have fun in it when you've got games like Dragon Age: Origins, Zelda, or even World of Warcraft that provide, "real dungeon experiences". I guess you didn't realize that I played a lot from 2003-2005. When I came back I had to deal with it just like everybody else. But because I was gone for such a long time, I didn't find those too big a deal.
  4. Sigh... for me... this may be the single biggest let down of an update, ever. I wasn't around mid 2005 to 2009, but from everywhere that has between mid 2003 to mid 2005, and mid 2009 til now... this takes the cake. There was just so much hype around this. I just hope I can reach level 30 so I can just use Tears of Guthix from there on out, but after reaching level 4, I don't know if I'll even get to 30...
  5. Santas are now max GE. Would be a good time to buy one now even just to flip for tomorrow (assuming you get one before it updates +2m or whatever).
  6. That's just so overkill for RuneScape. Like literally. The game is years behind on graphics and UI to warrant a killer setup as such. But I have similar! Needless to say, I don't call it my "RS Computer Setup" - as I use it for many other things. ;)
  7. He overvalues eggs... I guess he has a few of them. Here you go: Street Calc ;)
  8. 2003 for me. Nothing beat being a true newbie who was afraid to cross the Lumbridge bridge and go to the other side where the goblins were (I thought that was the wilderness). As that summer went on, and I obtained full mithril through coin drops - I felt like the [cabbage]. Fast forward a bit and even the quests seemed more fun. The dragon slayer quest was epic. That was all any f2per talked about back then. I mean, who didn't enjoy being 3-hit by Elvrag a few times? Once RSC became a bit routine, RS2 was released and it was the golden days all over again for about a month. Contrary to what many see here... I feel 2006-2007 was when the game was at its lowest by far. I just could not play the game anymore after late 2005. Some of you just have no idea how bad botting and real world trade became. It was extremely noticeable, and completely destroyed the game. In general, RS has gone from "I want a high combat level", to "I want money and skills", which kind of sucks because I really preferred it when it was the former. But you can't even compare combat in RSC/RS2. Two completely different levels of game play. I can understand why that has happened because combat was a difficult, long, and rewarding process in RSC. That's not at all the case in RS2 in my opinion. Funny how the subjective experience makes all say different things.
  9. Not a chance. It's near impossible to click nonstop and have that much control/precision over your mouse movements. Less than a second with over 9000 clicks? That's physically impossible. It's a lot easier to do similar to what was shown in the video with mousekeys enabled (one hand hitting 5 on the numpad, and the other just moving the mouse). But with that method, your physically every bit of input. And it takes a few seconds to get through the herbs... This isn't a case of having better hardware. This is literally having hardware do something for you. You can't physically give yourself better frames per second, but you can physically send mouse clicks to the game. And how does hardware alone even do something for you? It needs some kind of software either programming into itself, or the operating system. Over 9000 clicks? Either you're making a lame joke that hasn't been funny for years, or you can't count. As far as I can tell, it's far less than 100 clicks. Now, I'd like to remind you that without having used this mouse in person, we have no idea whether or not it's possible. But, to that ends: http://www.urban75.com/Mag/java7.html That's a simply little game I found while browsing another forum the other day. The topic was just to compare scores. Most scores ranged from as low as 40, to as high as 150. My first score was 95, the second was closer to 100. People can click a lot faster than you think. Now consider that if the buttons are aligned properly, releasing one button (by moving your finger to the side) is the same motion as pressing the second. 28 times per second isn't unreasonable. His mouse control may just be very, very precise. I wouldn't doubt it - I personally could probably manage to move my mouse as demonstrated in the video, at roughly that speed, with enough accuracy to hit every herb. I guess you missed the first word in my reply, so I'll make sure you see it this time: IF By the way? 100 clicks in 10 seconds? You'd have to be be able to pull of 300 clicks per 10 seconds, not to mention be able to precisely move the mouse of the herbs while doing it. And then do it continuously without experiencing any fatigue. I don't know what a G9 does, but that's why I started with that giant word above. If he is sending every bit of input, then it's legal. But if he's hitting a button that activates a series of commands, that's no different than me writing a script and hitting a button my keyboard telling it to the same. ... IF
  10. If programming a loop that sends left clicks until told to stop/start has the same result as this mouse, then I'd consider it cheating. I mean, say someone does this (and anyone with any bit of programming knowledge knows this would be no more than a few lines of code) and get's banned, they can just appeal and go, "Dear Jagex, I was using a G9 mouse pl0x. Please unban me pl0x as I was not doing anything against the rules". And how does hardware alone even do something for you? It needs some kind of software either programming into itself, or the operating system.
  11. 400k Farming experience (82 -> 84) 4.5M Herblore experience (90 -> 96) Now to wait for herbs to crash I can finish off the last 2.5m experience in the herb skill!
  12. -- How much have you spent on supplies? Not exactly sure but the opportunity cost is 66M (Current inflated value of all my herblore supplies). And then about 1.5-2M on the trees for farming. -- Where do you plan on training? CW will be very full. Farming tree run for 400k exp, then herblore. -- Have you bought everything you need? Luckily I'm only 70k away from 91 herblore, so I can start hammering out those extreme magics almost right away. -- Which day will you start training? Tomorrow! -- How will you avoid crowds? Find me a nice isolated bank I guess.
  13. I see just as much immaturity these days as I did then. Just a different brand of immaturity. Instead of a bunch of childish newbies we have a bunch of higher level players spouting 4CHAN esque garbage, engaging in e-thuggery, and generally just being a bunch of egocentric [bleep]s. Of course not all players are like that but really at this point I think that shouldn't need to be said, but I know if I didn't someone would be a smartass and call me out on it. Yes, the 1st gen of Miniclippers have grown up, to become that brand you speak of. :P (That was sarcasm - before I offend anybody here) It's just that first time... the worst years of RuneScape followed (2006-2007). Those years forced Jagex to make all those unwanted changes (removal of trade limit, wilderness, and etc). Updates which changed the game forever... I can't really say the first influx from Miniclip was the reason... but if there's a scapegoat for all that, Miniclip it is. (I realize all this would have probably happened with or without Miniclip, so whatever is best for RS, I'm okay with!)
  14. That name just makes me think of Battle Royale (awesome movie). I myself secured Nuclear.
  15. Miniclip again? Ugh. So much for RS ever losing it's childish stereotype. I don't understand why Jagex doesn't resort to other types of advertisement. The lower aged audience cannot generate the type of long-term income that the older audience can. When this happened sometime in 2004-2005... I ended up quitting because the game's in-game community just became too immature (not to mentioned botted) in general. The stereotype really got to me then. Hopefully this does not happen again. :( (Probably will not since I rarely have to interact with "strangers" thanks to the GE)
  16. I've been under the impression that it is about 100M or so. I believe it worth about 1.5 hooks at the moment.
  17. I've planted 5 magic trees, 5 palms, 1 calquat, and 1 spirit. Those will all be checked as soon as I log on... and should be good for close to 400k experience! Then comes herblore... So far my stock of unfinished potions consists of: - 5500 Wergali Unf - 2300 Dwarf Weed Unf - 650 Lantadyme Unf - About 100 of every other Ranarr and above I'm still planting Lantadyme seeds, and should 1k of those unf in total by the weekend. So the current plan is: Farming: 82 >> 84 Herblore: 90 >> 95 And then as far as the rest goes... maybe work on some construction, since my level 47 really needs some attention there! You're the one that's being selfish. That's like saying: "If I can't have it, then neither can you." Yes RS is easy these days, we get it. No your 99 herblore cape isn't going to be looked upon any less after this weekend. And the game is about fun. I suggest you look for goals outside of RS if you're going to take this update as seriously as you are.
  18. I'm just happy lantadyme seeds finally fell. Bought 100 of them for farm over the final days.
  19. I've always though as well... but my opinion is based off personal experience of examining the market in the few months after the dupe occurred. Whites seems far less common in the market than blues. Even greens seemed less common. But the post-dupe prices weren't based off rarity at all. Pink was just thrown to the bottom, with the rest of the order unchanged. From there blue became number one. Then over the next few years colors shifted based off demand and necessarily rarity.
  20. I would expect masks to rebound before bonus weekend. Santas on the other hand I'm not too sure about. But the thing if you wait until the time that everyone is else waiting for (after bonus weekend) - you'll be too late as far as getting the possible deals go.
  21. I don't get why players with a "mask bank" or "santa bank" get so worked up over these crashes sometimes. Whether the price is 40M, or 60M - they can only afford the same thing, a mask or santa. Though I can see why players get upset (missed opportunity to sell at 65M and re-buy for much, much cheaper, gaining a huge amount of purchasing power)
  22. Computer hardware doesn't slow down over time like that. I play on HD. It's 100% smooth. Safe mode and SD feel laggy in comaprison (even on my quad core computer) so yeah... 60 frames per second HD all the way.
  23. 1. White partyhat 2. White partyhat 3. Herblore Cape
  24. I bought a ton of Wine of Zamorak and more than enough Dwarf Weed Seeds to hopefully farm and make over 2500 ranging potions when this update arrives. I'll also make some higher level potions with whatever herbs I already have in my bank. I'll also be sure to plant a Spirit Tree a week in advance (should reach 80 farming soon). I will also save my best seeds from misc over the next two weeks and plant those as well. So my plan is... 1) Farming, Target: 300k+ experience 2) Herblore, Target: 1M+ experience 3) Crafting, Target: 300k+ experience So I'll be working hard for 3 hours. After that the multiplier drops under 2 and I'll probably just go to sleep (since it starts 5AM my time).
  25. Partyhats and other items are stable in relation to easters. Easter may rise/fall, but as they do, the others items tied to them do the same. A party isn't worth 2 easters one week and then three the next, and then 2 again, and etc. Within the street market itself things are a lot more stable. ;) And trust me, I know exactly how to factor in street/GE when calculating the street price of other items. 99% of RuneScape doesn't (even though it's very simple), and that's why I made this. And merchants won't lose confidence in easters anytime soon, especially with masks/santas holding buyouts. But if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve this, please do let me know.
