Dungeoneering
Jen puts on her protective goggles and suit, before lifting the lid open.

Dungeoneering
-Well, only one way to find out- Jen attempts to open the chest by nudging it over with the tip of her polemace, keeping her shield upraised to protect her face.
-
Dungeoneering
(I hope this is a good chest) Jen wonders if the sound of running water is inside the chest. She attempts to scan it, to see if it is extremely hot or extremely cold or pressurized. Then she stands back and attempts to open it using ice magic (popping the top off, then melting the ice).

Dungeoneering
Jen continues forward slowly, checking for traps, until she sees something interesting or sees the water.

Dungeoneering
Jen continues down into the cave, looking for traps as before. She feels really sad for losing Wubbles (stupid Ivory mages).

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
(Surprisingly I actually agree with Ross on this one) Japan offers to help destroy the Rods from Gods project, or at least retaliate against China if it goes through with it. If the program is not immediately ceased, serious reprecussions could take place, such as the total destruction of Beijing. :D

It is (6 + 2 radical 5)/4 I just simplified it further by dividing both 6 and 2 radical 5 by 4. You could just keep it the above though.

Except that a) You have to show your work B) There are two solutions

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
So the equation is: 2x/(x^2 + 1) = 2/3 First you cross multiply 6x = 2x^2 + 2 Subtract 6x from both sides 0=2x^2 - 6x + 2 Then solve the quadratic using either the the quadratic equation, or factoring 6 plus or minus the square root of (36-16) all over 4 6 plus or minus the square root of 20 over 4 6 plus or minus 2 radical 5 over 4 Answer is: 3/2 + ((radical 5) over 2) or 3/2 - ((radical 5) over two)

Is it basically a new International Space station? If so, Japan will supply the robotic arms and stuff, as well as the aquarium section. :P ---- It is? ---- Yes, I'm waiting for Sere to confirm it.

But I'm not annexing the country. I'm just leaving open the possibility that Malaysia would join Japan, since before they said that they wouldn't. Besides, it's an election, so there's no definite thing showing that I'll even win.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I'm pretty sure that Sere basically said, if you're annexing a country, then they'll attack you. Oh well, since we're scrapping that... The Malaysian leader has recently been found dead in his office, a bullet in his heart. Sources trace it to Chinese arm dealers which have been smuggling weapons into the area. Japan condemns the killing and the arms dealers, calling on China to prosecute them for facilitating this heinous crime. An election is being held between two leaders: the protoge of the deceased Malaysian leader and the leader of the opposition party. The platform of the protege is simple: continued support of India and relying on their support to prevent Chinese invasion. The platform of the opposite party is quite different: gain support of the Japanese-Pacific Constitutional Republics to ward off Chinese invasion. They note that Japan would go to war to prevent India from stationing troops in Malaysia, so to what lengths would they go to prevent the Chinese from invading? Inadequate polling methods have not produced any adequate prediction, with some polls going as 90% for one party, in both directions. The election is expected to take place in a few months, and both parties are spending heavily. The RFA and the governing party versus Japanese propaganda, the opposition party, and the word of mouth from relatives living in Singapore, who are mostly favorable of the Japanese.

Errr, I thought that after the first round of political annextures, they were banned? So basically Rocco can finish his, but you can't annex Oman? Or did we sorta scrap that.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
All of you mathematicians - how would I do: 2x/x^2+1 = 2/3 ? I'm stumped. ---- Divide the X out of the first term 2/x + 1 = 2/3 Subtract 1 2/x = -1/3 Multiply by x 2 = -x/3 Multiply by 3 6 = -x Divide by negative one on both sides -6 = x

What is the cost of a Stratos jet by the way? We should start setting prices on things to make it easier later, when people actually want to warmonger. Japan asks Norway for a lease on one of their small islands, so Japan can put a small military base there. Esimated contingent: one battlegroup (One super carrier, 5 destroyers, 5 frigates, few subs). Enough to respond to a small crisis, and not enough to invade anyone. :) The Imperial compound for the emporer has been completed. Though it looks like a tranquil palace, do not be fooled by what you cannot see. The Industrial compound, also located in Kyoto, is completed as well. The heads of the corporations in the Japanese conglomarate meet there, with all their secret tech (the civilian secret tech, not military secret tech) located there. Most of it is handled by robot, and only certain undisclosed members of the government may enter and look at the tech. The second Japanese imperial fleet has taken its maiden voyage, visiting all the nations of the empire. This is the first of the standard fleets, though not one of the last. The Japanese military has released an upgrade of their original plane. This fighter-bomber is a continuation of the same generation fighter-bomber, but it comes equipped with anti-missle defences, against missles flying at itself and at other targets. A new interceptor jet has been constructed to replace the old interceptor jet. These jets are specially designed to take out missles and bombs, especially large clusters of them, when missles cannot do the job effectively. Plans are moving forward to equip the entire army with exosuits, when they are completely researched. The rate at which the army is equipped varies, depending on the budget, the cost of the Exosuit, and production capabilities at the time. There are expected to be two kinds of Exosuits: one focused on speed and agility while another is focused on sheer firepower and heavy armor plating. ------- Stuff people might be interested in due to North Korea: Japan does not condone either action for or against North Korea, stating that any attack on North Korea could provoke a nuclear retaliation. Any attack against Scandanavia would also be foolish, so the best course of action is that neither is carried out. (This statement might have come as a result of the fact that tensions between North Korea and Japan have cooled. Of course North Korea is never going to accept annexation, but at least they're pretty friendly)

(I have to go to sleep now. If Ross is taking over tomorrow, is it possible that you PM him the details of what you planned for the cave? It's always strange when two moderators have no clue about the other person's dungeon, especially since I can't get out of this one and come back when the moderator for it is back. :P)

Dungeoneering
Jen continues travelling further into the cave, checking for traps and such. (Can I have a hint? Is there anyway out when going deeper into the cave?)
-
Dungeoneering
Jen begins firing ice shards at the shadow, before calling out. "What the hell do you want?" Then she continues further into the cave, checking for traps and stuff, assuming nothing happened before.
-
Dungeoneering
Jen continues attempting to create a light orb. Once she does, she looks further into the cave. If there is nothing of interest, then she wanders in carefully, checking for traps or anything spooky.

Dungeoneering
Cursed Ivory Mage folks. :( Jen, now frightened her baby golem has gone missing, attempts to bust the rocks open with a single gush of powerful water.
-
Dungeoneering
Jen attempts to create another light orb. If she succeeds, she backs up slightly (assuming there's nothing behind her) and tries to bust through the rocks with a powerful jet of water. She calls out to Wubbles "Don't move! Stay still!"

Dungeoneering
(You like pushing me into situations, don't you? :P) Jen tries to recover from the unconciousness. (Tell me Wubbles is okay!)

Dungeoneering
Basically a few pieces of metal, so that she can go adventuring and still have food for wubbles. Jen feeds Wubbles some more, then tells her to sit still. She goes and looks for a stockpile of food for Wubbles, constantly watching her incase she starts walking away. If she succeeds, then she returns to her home and starts constructing bear traps using her ice staff.
