I edited my post btw. Well basically Abyssnia invaded Yemen for some reason, which Japan was still working to fix. GDP per capita had skyrocketed, and unemployment fell from 40% to like 10%. I'm pretty sure that people in Yemen would support Japan. ------ Yemen was part of Japan a year or two ago, and it was under its influence for many years before that.

I'm pretty sure that Abbysnia is invading Japan... <_< (Errrr, the US had 200,000 troops or so in Japan before the game started.) ------- The Abbysnian troops are beset by Japanese ships from sea, and the massive defences on land. They should probaly be slaughtered. (Think D-Day, but the ships behind you are firing at you, not with you)

No worries Sere. As long as you make the minimum payments and don't invade Japan, then I'm fine holding your debt for you. After all, the US was one of the causes of the economic miracle which led to the economically powerful Japan of today. ------ Another two flotilla are dispatched to Yemen. They will arrive in a few days (in game time, since they were already combat ready in the beginning. Also noting my definition of flotilla is not dictionary definition flotilla. My navy can't be that big. :P)

The Abbysnians meet one hundred thousand Japanese troops in Yemen, because Yemen is part of Japan. A further fifty-thousand soldiers are based near the Yemenese coast, because it was one of the stop-points of the interventionist fleet (others being South Korea and Indonesia). Those soldiers rush to the defence, supported by the two supercarriers based off the shore and Japanese defences as part of project Cocoon, which involve Pillboxes and that other jazz, and anti-biological/chemical weapon defences. One hundred brand new Type 10 tanks, of the new fourth generation are also part of the defences. ----- I have a feeling that you didn't know that Yemen was part of Japan, so you can pull out your troops and say it never happened if you'd like. I'll fight a war in defence if I have to though.

I've been trying to offer an eloquent way of saying "this never happened" to everyone. This isn't really based on specifics. This is to get the game focused back on war, diplomacy, political alliances, etc which didn't really require an advanced degree in economics and a team of economic advisors to navigate through.

It's based on the value of the old American dollar. :P I think destroying the world's economy, or at least trying to, is pretty far out there.

Well everyone was basically calculating in terms of US dollars anyway, because that was the reserve currency of the world in 2009. Now that we have a maniacal lunatic in charge of the US, we might need a new currency. :P

Well that's not the point. My point is that I'm trying to be as decentralized as possible, with a currency which no one controls, to make it easier. Basically I'm saying that everyone keeps track of their currency as one unit, instead of doing all this conversion. Basically making sure no one has even the remote chance of collapsing the world's economy, even if we just say it never happened. ^ I used the word "basically" way too much. <_<

Well I was going to suggest to put it in Japan, but people would be in an uproar over Japanese takeover of the economy, so I decided "Why not let Dusty hold the agency?"

If you're making a playable Japanese empire, you should make it so that it is hyper-aggressive when trying to acquire South-East Asia, but isolationist in regards to everything else. :P Long live the Emporer!

Japan proposes the "International Monetary Unit." It would be a method of keeping track of currencies relative to each other. The Unit would be approximately the value of the dollar compared to other currencies before the crash, and no one would print it. Your currency increases or decreases relative to it directly proportionally to how much you print, so you can't just print yourself out of debt. Basically it has no function except to replace the dollar, to keep trading stable. The unit would also not be controlled by anyone, since it's more of a concept than an actual...creation. The agency which runs it would preferably be built in Romania, since they seem to be the most neutral nation which is interested in not wrecking the world ecnomy.

Well I'm going to go now. Anyways, isolating yourself is absolutely the wrong thing to do in this scenario. No one ever excepts a maniacal superdemon to take over the United States and mess up the economy without consulting economists. <_<

That's foolish. The way you bring back value for your currency is to work with your creditors (Japan and China), as well as the public, to pay back your debts, which would increase the strength of the dollar. Bill Clinton did it. :P --------- Japan did as well. :P

Paul, Japan is now the leading exporter. Not to mention, if you add present day totals for Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, and Japan, they're higher than China. :P

Oh, I have a great idea! Japan can send 20,000 odd troops to the buffer zone, and they can maintain a landscape full of mines. That would be a great buffer. :P

Well at this point the only feasible attack option on the Japanese mainland is by Stratos Jet, unless you could somehow teleport, so I am working to protect that flaw. Japan launches its new contraption developed as part of Project Coccoon, Phase A (for air). The rest of the world sees an interesting sight: a hundred or so colorful balloons flying into the air, tethered to the ground by some sort of strong string. A prototype short-ranged version of the Stratos Jet is being built.

Japan begins research on low-level X-ray blockers to counter the threat of a high economy P-Jet flying close to the Japanese mainland. Japan also asks Switzerland to keep its P-Jet at the normal setting when passing through Japanese airspace (when Japan actually authorizes of course).

Oh, that reminds me, is Abyssnia basically Ethiopia + annexed countries or did the other African nations willingly join?
