The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I think it was more of the way the news was delivered. So I came home from school, then I opened up Hegemony...then bam! Maybe you can ease it in more. :P

That's still stupid as hell. Also, you should have experienced some kind of economic cataclysm considering that Japan would have to cut out all of the nice things that they are spending on in order to facilitate massive military spending. My military spending is supposedly a little over $1 trillion, so good luck spending around $1-2 tril and slashing everything else. Not to mention that your soldiers aren't very trained and aren't really competitive with other militaries whatsoever. ---------------- @Rocco: Technically Dungeonal can invade Egypt if he wants to. Are you gonna go to war with him over it? @Everyone else: You're all being douchebags and will have to suffer severe repercussions for this "annex-fest". @Archi: There's no way that those African warlords could have conquered half of a continent that quickly. ------------- I agree. Well unlike the United States, I'm not involved in two wars in the Middle East, nor am I spending billions on wasteful and unnecessary programs that probaly won't work. Also noting again that Japan does not have a terribly crappy military. It is within the top 10 most powerful militaries, up there with the United States and most western European countries. It's much cheaper to fund a defensive army (machine gunes and artillery don't cost that much) than to fund an offensive army fighting a never ending war. Besides, I've checked it over with Archi's spreadsheet and found that I can easily afford it, with a twenty billion surplus (this is after the spending, so I really actually don't need the money). Why would I have to spend 1-2 trillion? ------ For the car thing, there are still regular gasoline cars like they sell today. Prius anyone? :)

Oh, I hate those nub things! How do you even manage to do anything decent with one of those? I would probaly be unable to even click on something.

That's true. Could you give an example for a detailed plan? I don't want to have to control every small company of troops as they move through the landscape. :)

I'm pretty sure that he was kidding. Or it was in protest of the mass half annexation of Africa. Not really sure.

Maybe you should call a Jihad? For Allah! War on Italy!

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Even if the country has a thousand-man military and you have mass-army superiority in every way? Not to mention it's a dot on the map. :P

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
That's true, but probaly not enough to take over half of Africa. :P

Troops are headed on transports towards the Ivory coast.

You can do that with only 320 tonnes of gold? -Considers giving aliens 500 tonnes of gold to strike down everyone but me- -------- On second thought, the new figures are 700,000 active troops and 1 million reserve troops.
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Okay, let me clarify a few things. 1. I had a military of two million active earlier, which I then reduced to 500,000 active and 1,500,000 reserves. Now I am putting 500,000 reserves into active defensive service. 2. According to the budget that Archi gave me with his spreadsheet, I can support the army. 3. What is going on with Africa?

This is very strange: Japanese beef coming from Scandanavia. Oh how the world has changed! Several reforms: Defensive military strength has been increased from 500,000 to 1 million, and reserve strength decreased from 1.5 million to 1 million. Offensive military strength stays the same at about 100,000 (the intervening part of the military). Japan reaches out with North Korea to thaw relations. (Not annex, to be friendly) It asks the North Koreans to be friends with them, despite their history, and to work together to a common goal of stable economies and governments in Asia. Japanese analysts have revised their forecast for the coming decade after a shift in Japanese government policy. The policy is to encourage steady economic growth. Analysts expect a growth rate of 3%. The Pacific-Alliance has had a surge of nationalism recently. Polls indicate the views at 20% extremely positive, 75% Positive/Content, and only 5% at upset/discontent. This has been hailed as a victory of the campaign of cultural identity, but national pride.

I'd like to remind you that beef isn't a big part of the Japanese diet. Gotta love them Sushi. :D

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Fine by me! Japan bans the use of antibiotics in cows grown in Japan, and transitions into free-range grazing, rather than the traditional cow raising method. Japan also bans imports of all anti-biotic fed meat, to encourage countries who export beef to Japan to get rid of their antibiotics as well. I was referring to humans by the way. :P ------- What bigger problems. It better not be economic, I've spent waaaay too much time arguing about that so far. I've already paused my growth for the moment, at least until I can iron it out with Archi before my economy suddenly grows 20% because of 5 or 10 years of backlog.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I know, survival of the fittest and what not. I still don't want my people to die, so I'm still going to do whatever I can. Oh, are there vaccines against bacteria as well?
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Well I'll be using current antibiotics until the strain becomes stronger, so I'll use the stronger ones. I'll just keep developing them so that they stay ahead of the virus.
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Better make a vaccine for that too. Also, antibiotics only cause resistance if they're overused. So I am making stronger antibiotics for when they do become stronger, so then I can just ignore the whole epidemic. :P

^ Already rebuilt it, except 50% larger and with the latest radar and anti-submarine add-ons. :D

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Japan diverts 1/3rd of its research capacity (rest is on random stuff and robotics) to creating stronger antibodies that will be reserved for emergency use when existing antibodies fail.
