No...why do you ask? (It's 5 days Grim)

Ah, interesting. Anyways, Japan offers the 5% tariff rate to Slovakia, and reduces the 5% to a 4% tariff for France and Germany. Japan suggests a 2% tariff with China.

What does NOK stand for anyways?

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I thought Mather already did print 90 Billion Nok :P

Archi, would it be possible to not put Saudi-Arabia in the TFTA? I think someone is going to take it soon.

It's generally 5%, not 10%. Anyways, Japan has the highest life expectancy in the world, yet I still receive half your income in budget (my GDP is just bigger, so it evens out). Japan begins the construction of 100 Nagoya Short-Ranged Interceptor Fighters. The project will probaly take until 2020 to complete. Moss is now being grown in Indonesia. Over 15% of the population has been employed and rising, until efficiency begins reducing the number of jobs. This will lift many people out of unemployment. Meanwhile, Japan has converted to Moss-fuel for its automobiles. Due to the cheapness (Japan is the only nation that can use the fuel as of now), the Japanese government has instituted a 50% tax, bringing the price to about $3 a liter, which is cheaper than usual, even with the tax. The tax will be kept until the price of conversion is paid off, as the government has had to subsidise the change over from gasoline to moss-fuel.

Thanks Archi. ---------- Japan further mobilises another 150,000 troops as quick responders to South Africa if necessary.

I have set the name as : The Japanese-Pacific Constitutional Republic or JPCR for short.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Excellent. I wonder if there can be another color dot for 5% tariff trading partners with the JFTA? Maybe light green? To Archi, Japan has 975 tonnes of gold. This is because Singapore, Indonesia, and South Korea contributed their stocks.

But in real life, people are scared to throw around huge numbers of troops, because they're afraid someone will bring out the nuclear weapons. ---- How many soldiers died? Did you subtract it?

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
But Gold isn't the primary method of international transactions! Mather can afford the purchase, if he pays it in a duration of 5 or so years, so that he doesn't go uber broke. ---- Archi led a coaliation to attack Somalia. They were a bit too trigger happy, and went on to Ethiopia as well.:)

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Is there any chance someone could update the real map? Everytime I do it, it shrinks. :( ---------- Quite simply put your options are to either take the 5%, leave it, or join the JFTA and leave TFTA. Of course you probaly won't do the latter. :)

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Mather, I would like to offer you an exclusive offer of 5% tariff with the Japanese-Pacific something or another. However, a country needs to be out of other free trade agreements if they wish to join the Japanese free trade agreement, which is 0% tariff.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Still noting that gold doesn't really mean anything. TFTA: -Anyone that was in it before, except taking out the US Japanese Free Trade: Same as before + South Africa Trade alliance of Grim: France Germany Spain French North Africa

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Japan pledges to defend Slovakia with troops if Russia invades. Also Archi, the United States could theoretically do that, but it would basically wipe out the entire world's monetary system. Not that the US would gain anything, as the total value of money would probaly decrease. The federation is now known as the Nipponese-Pacific Constitutional Republic. To outsiders, it is known as the Japanese-Pacific Constitutional Republic.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
When was gold the only method of trading? Fifty billion dollars in gold is just as good as fifty billion dollars in Yen. Anyways, I basically said 1% to make it easier, since many countries are in debt. Anywho, Japan again offers to purchase the short ranged interceptor fighters.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Gold reserve is not your entire budget. 1% of GDP is essentially your entire budget. Otherwise you're saying that Japan is poorer than Switzerland?
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Well I can't let it blown up and destroyed by a coalition, now can I? ---- Besides, the timetable is 15 years. Does that sound fair to everyone?
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Correct, but that doesn't mean that you'd have a bigger budget which is expendable. ------------- South Africa is frightened by the brutal and total destruction of Somalia and Ethiopia. It seeks a military partner and finds one in Japan. Some Japanese ships head to South Africa, though no soldiers are sent. Timeline: 1 year: Defensive pact (Japan defends South Africa, not vice versa) 2 years: Military Integration 5 years: Japanese aid to relieve poverty/infrastructure building reaches peak 10 years: Serious talks on political integration 15 years: Successful political integration Fair or unfair?
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I'm pretty sure that all international trade goes in dollars. It would make it much easier that way.
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Mather, wouldn't that mean that you'd be burdened by disadvantages other nations don't have as a result of your higher tax rate? What's a Saab Gripen?
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Wait, one second. Do you have any short-ranged interceptor fighter jets? I will pay 20% more than Scandanavia for them.
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Yep, it's about a trillion. That means your total budget yearly would be about 10 billion.
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Also noting that gold is not the currency of the world. I suggest that for the budget of 1% of GDP, we keep track of that in dollars, so even if we print more money, it still ends up the same in dollars. It's closer to 879 tonnes of gold btw. 87.9 tonnes is worth about 2.8 billion.
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Japan notes that the Scandanavian economy is probaly not one trillion just because more money is printed. The Japanese federation (I really have to pick a name) has a combined GDP of about 7.1 trillion, about 11% of the world's GDP.
