An Indian Thailand would be fine with me. It's just that Singapore is a city-state, and it could be easily shelled from Malaysia.

Once again, the only precondition is that goods shipped from Japan cannot be resold to India, to keep with the embargo. However, a car say from the United States with Japanese tires could be shipped to India.

The reason I'm pretty much at war is because you've been blocking my attempts to peacefully annex Malaysia. I can't have an Indian Malaysia so close to Singapore. Perhaps if you left the region alone, there wouldn't be any bloodshed. There's plenty of land up near India.

My vote is that unless Singapore legitimately goes to Japan, then all these attempts are hypocrisy and that they should remain independant. However, if you go for what I truly believe, then you should look at the leaders of the countries to see if they're pro-Soviet or not, and whether the electorate agrees with them (if the leader is popular or unpopular)

It's true that Japanese occupation of Singapore during WW2 wasn't great for Singapore, but there are several reasons that it's negated: 1. Japan isn't occupying Singapore 2. Japan is not exactly WW2 like anymore. 3. Singapore has much more of a recent dispute with Malaysia. 4. Singapore is heavily reliant on trade with Japan and other countries in South-East Asia.

And you keep bring up real-world issues? So there would be a difference in Hegemony if you're bringing up real life points. I'm bringing up real life points entirely, so my statements do not contradict each other (except when I keep wavering between Protectorate, and join, but that's really just because I write too many posts)

Well being a protecterate means that you're basically your own country, but your foreign policy is being supervised by a larger nation. Meanwhile, being annexed is basically just being grabbed. ---------- -Cough- See above post for reasons why a country would become a protectorate. Vassal, protectorate, same thing.

And Singapore was never attacked. It became a protectorate of Japan, which is why it still has troops remaining. -cough- And there is no international community. They're basically just placidly upgrading their forces slowly. :P

The water was not a justification for annexation. It was a justification for the attack on Malaysia by Singapore and Indonesia (Indonesia tagged along :thumbsup: )

Except that Singapore has already secured its water security hopefully, if the attack succeeded of course. Otherwise, it would probaly think that you're insane and that you'll probaly be wiped out by Germany, which makes its water security risky.

I don't think you quite understand the situation with Singapore. Singapore has had many disputes with Malaysia over its water supply, which it receives from a massive pipe running under the Strait of Malay. Now considering that Malaysia was being annexed by India, it would make lots of sense for Singapore to feel threatened. And what was that Mr. Concert of Europe? -cough- Annexing is much different from a military alliance.

Oh, so that's what it means? I think I gave justification for Indonesia's attack on Malaysia: the people wanted to be liberated from the central government. Singapore's casus Belli was simply that Malaysia was already being annexed by India, and it needed to secure its water supply (since 50% or so of its fresh water comes from Malaysia). My post does work simply because I don't control solely Japan anymore. It's called having a puppet state Archi. :P I'm basically saying that Japan doesn't need to be sanctioned for committing an act, because it technically didn't do it. (The reason I didn't add Malaysia in red entirely is because there might be disagreements about the way such a war is calculated)

What is Casus Belli? I suppose that people might subject me to embargoes, but Japan never invaded another country. :)

The only stipulation of the treaty is that products shipped from Japan and the rest of the countries in the free trade area into Australia, cannot be resold to India. Is that fair to you? (Whoops, original post was funny)
