  1. The funny thing is that Japan indeed has a military. They're just not supposed to use it to settle international disputes by the constitution. But the constitution can always be changed...Brazil has social and economic instability. Much of the land is used for cheap beef and many industries are/were insolvent due to the various dictators who tried to create a booming industry. Also, wealth inequality is widespread and the majority of your citizens are poor. Besides, Japan is allied to the United States, meaning it would have similar technology to that of European nations.
  2. And there are no nukes in this game? I'm sure that the Japanese population could remobilise pretty quickly. Besides, Japan always has that peacekeeping force that they use. They're just not supposed to declare war...until a new emporer rises and declares the need for a new Empire of the Rising Sun! Mwahahahahaha -------- And Brazil has domestic instability, drug cartels, and a rampant guirella operation. Have fun dealing with that. :P I don't think we're being that literal.
  3. I have to go now. Also, I will try to keep the player roster updated. I have all the information in my notebook, but I'll try to update it on the front page too.
  4. -Icu Some of them listen, though they are still greatly saddened. The monkfish ask them if you'd like to follow them into the surface. +2 points -Paul You succeed in making the paste. +0.3 Intelligence
  5. I am invading all the island nations in South East Asia (except Australia, lolz) using crushing military force centered around a powerful navy and air force. Basically I bomb the islands into submission. First I give them the choice of a leader that I choose (puppet state ftw). Thailand has a military regime which is a close ally of the United States against communism. They're the opposite of communism.
  6. -Ikana You're right. You have 200. The Ikanans fail to communicate that way, though they find some kelp. -Icu Your people are saddened and refuse to move until they fight back. -Goa'uld You scare off the remaining sharks.
  7. I was born in Thailand. Since I'm giving that to you, then I should get the islands. After all, you can expand westward. I need South-East Asia. My justification is that Japan doesn't have many natural resources, so it needs them from South-East Asia. Just like world war two. :)
  8. -Steve The whale plankton don't understand you. They seem to communicate in a way you don't understand. -Icu Despite the fact that they were just monks, they are still an evolutionary grade higher. Their skin seems to be protected with some shield of some sort, and you're repulsed. They pick up the shiny thing and start carrying it away.
  9. -Goa'uld The goa'uld succeed in using a powerful attack against a blinded foe, killing 20 sharks. (25 sharks remaining). +0.5 Combat -Steve You encounter a group of whale-plankton. (Oh, on Hegemony, why don't you let me have South-East Asia (the islands at least, not Thailand and that) and you can go on and conquer Mongolia. You have lots of land to expand) -Icu There are about 15 (These are monkfish plankton. Sorta like monks in search of the holy grail. No resemblance to a real monkfish) -Ikana The scouting party is brutally poisoned, then dragged up into the dome. (I'm assuming the party is like 10) (90 microbes)
  10. -Icu The monkfish see the shining thing you have, which is now brighter than before because you are so close to the surface. They attempt to take it from you.
  11. -Ikana The Ikanans find a large transparent dome with flailing strings. -Goa'uld Disaster (1), the flanking technique is predicted by the shark-plankton. They kill 50 of the Goa'ulds (220 remaining), while receiving only 5 casualties (45). You shouldn't even be able to do flanking, but normally if you solve something using smart things you get intelligence. -Icu You run into the band of monkfish from before. They don't seem to remember you. "Do you know where the holy grail is?"
  12. -Icu The coral is hard and brittle. You realise it's much better to live in the coral. However, many plankton live in the reef.
  13. So who is the moderator? I think there's already a disagreement.
  14. -Ikana The Ikanans develop a nice clean living space for themselves. -Icuwangs You find a coral reef which you can take residence in. -Goa'ulds The goa'ulds fail to evade the shark-plankton, and they appear in greater numbers. There are about 50 of them, though many of them seem to be visually impaired/old.
  15. And I will reserve Japan, the most technologically advanced nation in the world. :P I will also invade South-east Asia, but not Mongolia. :)
  16. Are nations stronger or weaker based on how they are in 2009? If that's so, that really doesn't make it that fair.
  17. You have a feeling that you can undergo that that mutation for 10 out of your 15 points. ----------- -Steve You have 14 points. The microbes cannot seem to attach that way.
  18. -Goa'ulds The move begins fine. All of the Goa'ulds begin travelling to a new home. Then Ra realises that they should not have eaten so much blood...a long trail stretches behind them. You have a feeling the shark-plankton will come and get you soon. (You have 270 people left, right?) -Rocco "I have seen the promised land of algae aplenty! I may not get there with you, but we as a people will get to the promised land!" The scout points to a location which seems brighter than where you are now. -Icu Your people begin burrowing into the rock. You're not sure if it's the best idea. -Steve Two microbes combine successfully, sorta...The flagellum are on opposite sides, so the microbe can only spin.
  19. -Icu You find a lone shellfish in the waters nearby. It looks much wiser and powerful than any of your microbes. -Steve The mutation dies out, and you're left with the same old flagellum. -Rocco "I have visited the dark lands, looking for the place to live. Not a single decent soul lives there. I can only see the darkness...and the shark-plankton lurking nearby." +0.2 Intelligence
  20. Dun dun dun! Today is a moment is history as the first of the species begin the move onto land. The Agrius, a poisonous species with no legs, has about fifty members which can survive the air. The land around them is chilly, and pine trees seem to be numerous. The main food source seems to come from either the animals roaming the area or small Lichens eeking out a living in the cold. (Note you are now the size of your computer tower if you have one. Otherwise, maybe about the size of your desktop screen.)
  21. -Rocco The search parties have returned to tell you news. You sent a lot of them, so they're all talking at the same time. You need to choose one to listen to. -Icu Your people find two locations for a new home. One is in a crevice about five feet below their previous point, and another is on the edge of a growth of moss near the surface of the water. -Goa'uld The goa'uld circle back with surprising speed and kill the rest of the Shark-plankton before they can react. You have a bad feeling there will be more of them following the trail. +0.4 Electric +2 points -Steve The Narwhals ignore the Emissaries...It looks like they're hunting. Also, a few of your population develop stronger flagellum, but they'll probaly die out since they are few in number.
  22. -Steve Steve's group returns to the surface. They spot a pack of Narwhal-Plankton. They fail mitosis. -Microb Bob Your new home is much brighter than your old home...and much colder. There appear to be bountiful krill-plankton nearby. +0.3 Cold Resistance +2 points -Ross The gene spreads to about 50 microbes in total. The remaining 100 without the genes are a threat to the gene, as it may die off in an area without oxygen from the air.
  23. The Icuwangans travel closer to the light, and have an enlightenment. The search parties find no food. +0.7 Piety +3 points -Goa'uld Your attack strikes well, killing five sharks. The remaining fifteen turn even more aggressive. +0.5 Electric +0.2 Combat
  24. -Agrius 150 of your bravest Agriusians (they're not really microbes anymore) venture out into the air. They travel about ten feet in, before 145 of them topple over, writhe, and die. The remaining five return to the colony with some basic lungs. Bonus Acquired for 5 Souls: Basic Lungs -Grim Your people have a great feast and grow obese. You've learned that your people will soon be as fat as Americans if they continue eating this way. +0.6 Gluttony +0.3 Whaling
  25. The monkfish realise that the object stopped shining as well. "Wait, that's not the holy grail...Come on people, let's keep moving." The monkfish start to leave, ignoring the rest of your sentence. -Goa'uld You fail to damage the shark-plankton, but you prevent them from attacking one action turn.
