  1. Infinity cannot generally be used with equations. Since infinity minus infinity is still infinity, well...it really messes things up.
  2. The blood is so-so, now that the beast has been dead for a bit. The goa'uld start exhibiting strange properties. +0.3 Leeching +1 point
  3. You cannot divide by x because that equation is not true in all cases other than x = 0. The first equation was true in all cases, but you divided by 0, thus changing the equation.
  4. +0.2 Poison Resistance, sorry bout that. :). The Casthen have evolved in poison resistance. They should now be able to resist basic poisons easily. +2 points (If you want to evolve to the next stage, I suggest you save these. :)) The Casthens successfully eat the dead heroes and mitosize, leaving them with 100 microbes. The only side effect is that their religion begins incorperating some cannabilistic elements. +0.2 Reproduction +0.3 Zealotry
  5. There doesn't seem to be any krill...or muscles left in the body. There just seems to be blood...lots of it
  6. The goa'uld feast on the pure muscle, gaining lots of protein in the process. They begin to change and become stronger. +1 point +0.3 Strength
  7. Then divide by x.... 1=2=0/x(or just 0) Since your equation is 1x=2x=0(or 0x) That is where mathematics falls down...That was my point. ---- You can't divide by x. In this case, x has to be 0. You couldn't have divided by 0 the first time, because this equation isn't true unless x = 0. Thusly, you cannot divide by x
  8. The feast is lavish and all your critters are fed. They've even gained some poison resistance. However, ten of the weakest microbes have died while hunting the critters do to poison. -10 Microbes +2 Points
  9. I disagree with Mather's position...so I win!
  10. The three microbes position themselves near the hole grudgingly. The rest of the population still looks devoted, but they also look frail because they haven't eaten in a while. +0.3 Spartan
  11. It does mean something if for all values of x, (x-x) = 0. It basically means that you're sneaking in a divide by 0 somewhere, which is a common fallacy in most proofs. So let's go with your equation now. (0)x = 0(2x) = 0 True Divide by 0 x = 2x = 0 (Only true in cases where x = 0)
  12. Microb Bob riles up his people. The people rally behind you with new confidence (passed level 1 zealotry). They brutally kill the microbe, then successfully plug up the hole temporarily. They might need a permanent solution later. +0.4 Zealotry (Wow, a 20!) +0.2 Intelligence +4 points (Points are often given when the group moves towards a collective identity)
  13. The goa'ulds successfully lay the eggs. They will hatch later. Meanwhile, Ra manages to name everything the same thing. The goa'ulds get everything confused. -0.2 Intelligence
  14. You're still dividing by 0. (X-X) = 0, thus you cannot divide by it. Your entire statement is invalidated
  15. How many goa'ulds lay eggs? Goa'ulds do not have any concept of such scientific topics. You suspect that the earlier communication was more like pheromones, indicating aggression and dislike.
  16. The goa'ulds begin communicating somewhat successfully...until 40 of them get offended and leave. (100 remaining) +0.2 Intelligence
  17. (Everyone is on opposite sides of a planet. You probaly won't meet each other until tribal, or somehow a large fish carries you in its stomach. :)) The Goa'ulds aren't that sophisticated with their understanding, and only see lots of stuff.
  18. The Ikanans spot the corpse of a dead leviathan. -Goa'uld The Goa'uld are extremely fortunate and have now gained the choice to lay eggs. If they do decide to lay eggs, then they give up their ability to mitosize. +0.4 Reproduction +5 points -Microb Bob One of Microb Bob's workers are extremely foolish and accidentally make a small hole in the beast's stomach. Fortunately, the hole is high enough that unless the beast flips over, the beast won't die. (Wow, 20 for Mather and a 2 for Archi, followed by a lucky 15)
  19. Anyway. 0=0 0*2=0 0*5=0 Therefore (0*2)+(0*2)=0*5 Thus (0/0*2)+(0/0*2)=(0/0*5) < Still dividing by 0 Thus 2+2=5 < Cannot deduce this Therefore Despite almost 4000 years development, human mathematics still fails at a basic level. QED ------- Except that only humans fail in mathematics. :) Let us replace those numbers with variables (1/X) + (1/X) = (1/Y) An example of what could be true (1/4) + (1/4) = (1/2) This does not mean 4 + 4 = 2 Now you could say that what you did was divide 0 by something, but like I said earlier in the post, you can't divide by 0! You're trying to put a logical law into mathematics, which is why it doesn't work.
  20. Sorry, I'm getting off for tonight. I'll do your post first thing tomorrow morning (superintendants conference day, yay)
  21. Your people have the sudden urge to brave the area closer to the surface. They urge you to travel there immediately. +1 point
  22. -Goa'uld The goa'uld begin digging into the fatty brain matter. They begin to grow fat, and reproduce normally. 140 Goa'ulds. There seems to be a lot of brain matter left. +0.3 Reproduction +2 points -Ikana The Ikanians binge on the algae and grow lazier. However, their reproduction works fine and doubles their population to 200. +1 point +0.5 Gluttony
  23. Rocco, you have been chosen as leader of your people, the Arakians. Your task is to give them bountiful food and shelter for their families. Chosen by a pine needle that fell upon your home, you have risen to greatness within your pack quickly. Unfortunately, greater dangers lurk ahead. The Arakians start closer to the surface than other people, though still several feet away from the most bountiful layer of the sea. Their feeder mouths can guarentee them at least a minimal supply of food, as long as they remain somewhat close to the surface to skim for the smallest plankton. Your people begin in their home within a floe of algae floating below the surface of the water. The algae is sinking gradually and you'll have to move on. The world is unknown to you, and it's time for you to explore. 225 microbes await your command.
  24. I will come on and update everything in about 15 minutes after I take a shower. Dusty, you can also post once or twice daily highlighting your adventures with your species and I can give you positive and negative traits based on that. After we move into the tribal stage, that's where you can do some dungeoneering (without points, but mainly with other stuff) and some of hegemony. By the time we move into small nation states, then that becomes hegemony. Except for the few people who still have tribes that get crushed. Rocco, accepted. Glad you joined. :D I'll give you the introduction for your species. Also, do you want to give your leader a name?
  25. The goa'uld send electrical pulses up the spinal cord. The beast starts convulsing, before it dies. As a result of the carnage, 20 more goa'uld have died. +0.3 electric
