Japan asks Australia for a defensive pact. The terms are basically that we defend each other if attacked, but if one of us is the aggressor, then the other is not obligated to fight. If not this, then Japan asks for Australia to join its free trade area.

Well I can agree to that. I'll contribute. Japan sends some scientific equipment to the project. It begins the construction of several salt power plants, to be outfitted with the new membranes. What is Project Evergreen? ------ Oh yes, all nations closely affiliated with Japan (such as Indonesia, and newly conquered Malaysia) remove Radio Free Asia from broadcast towers located within those countries. Basically the part of Malaysia near Indonesia was going to be taken, but you said that Malaysia was being "peacefully annexed", so Indonesia wanted their land. Japan just helped make sure there wasn't any interference (with the navy). Japan begins centralising the command of the navies of the allied nations into the Central Command Structure, which is composed of officers from all different countries (within the alliance). The goal is to provide protection to all allied states, and to make sure that the part of Malaysia stays within Indonesia, or at the very least does not go with India. So I'm assuming that Indonesia is victorious? With the 50% defence modifier, the 80,000 force of Malaysia is defeated at the cost of 120,000 casualties by Indonesia. SAM artillery are being placed on all islands of the allied nations, to prevent air strikes (SAM artillery are highly effective at destroying aircraft). More air defences are being placed, especially on the Japanese homeland. ------------ Political integration continues with Papau New Guinea. The agreement at the current time seems to be that Japan constructs infrastructure in New Guinea, as long as they retain their traditional ways of life. ------------- To Archi (almost missed that post), I'm not mobilising 52 million troops. That was just the figure for eligible soldiers. Anyways, Malaysia (according to me) was split into two, with the half near Indonesia leaning towards Indonesia. But Rocco signed a treaty with Malaysia anyways, so Indonesian troops are liberating the half near Indonesia. Japan sent naval troops to prevent any foreign power from interrupting the liberation, so that was the extent of that. If anyone is receiving economic sanctions, it would be Indonesia. Which would further encourage it to stay closer to Japan. :thumbsup: ------------- To Rocco, that piece of Malaysia was needed as a vital part of national security. So that's why Japan helped with it. Oh, I just realised that Singapore is next to your part of Malaysia...Singapore attacks Malaysia with 60,000 soldiers and Indonesia with reinforcements, about 40,000 soldiers. Singapore, being the most highly advanced country in South-East Asia, negates the amphibious penalty. Once again, navies block access and troops are held in reserve in case of any enemy movements. --------------

Breaking news (I'm going with Archi's Map btw, so if it seems wierd, that's because you're not using Archi's map. :thumbsup:) Indonesian armed forces have invaded the part of Malaysia in a surprise blitzkrieg attack, using their massive 300,000 soldier army, against Malaysia's 100,000 army force, which shouldn't even all be at the battle. (So let's assume like 80,000). (there are more, but that's just there in the fight). The area surrounding the location of the battle is blocked by the Indonesian navy, parts of the Japanese navy, and parts of the South Korean navy. Meanwhile, submarines prowl the waters incase of enemy attack. The battle should be over before any reinforcements arrive. Indonesia has fully commited itself to the fight, and reserves are being brought up. If necessary, conscription will begin, with 52 million eligible soldiers ready for combat (in their home regions, they're not licensed to hop to another country). Construction continues on bunkers and artillery, with anti-aircraft defences. Japan has already licensed its airforce to circle over the area, to protect it from...any unwanted accidents. Indonesia has placed artillery on their islands to fire against unwelcome visitors. The singaporean navy is being held in reserve, should any foreign powers begin attacking. Indonesia is attacking because I claimed that part of Malaysia is theirs already. Also, Singapore needs that part of Malaysia for its water supply. (They must have tasty water)

And Rocco, you don't understand. Those territories have NOT been annexed. They are simply to show that they are currently in the process of political ties. Also, Thailand would probaly go with the United States if they did go with anyone. They've been allies since the end of World war two.

Sorry that I didn't include Russia. I didn't know it owned. Also noting that countries colored in the color of Japan aren't actually part of Japan. They're just moving that way, but I wanted to show that they were closer to Japan. I should've colored Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos blue like India though. <_<

Now Thailand has much more of an objection than Malaysia, but the part near Indonesia has already been peacefully annexed by Japan. The nation (part near Indonesia) has joined Indonesia as a special state.

It's not a JAPANESE super state. It's an ASIAN PACIFIC constitutional confederation.

Malaysia seems to be fractured, half of the country near Thailand leaning towards India, while the area bordering Indonesia are leaning towards Japan. Tensions remain high, and the country might split into two! (That's my little compromise there.)

I think that's a bad example. The United States isn't poor, Canada isn't uber rich, and Mongolia is on the other side of the world. Economically you're similar. Lots of poor people and corruption. ASEAN + 3 moves forward, especially in South Korea, which seems to be the most receptive to the talks. Malaysia is having a harder time, because of that Radio Free Asia thing. Talks begin to snag a bit. --------- Japan says that an alliance with India is impossible if India continues spreading anti-Japanese propaganda. Otherwise, Japan would be very happy to undertake an alliance.

Except that India and the South East Asian countries specialize in roughly the same things. An economic partnership with a different specialty would be much more beneficial. Besides, I began my overtures first. :P Japan asks Russia to ask India to stop making overtures to Malaysia. The other nations are fine though.

Fortunately the Japanese have several large trading partners elsewhere, and the lives of those in South East Asia would suffer much more. Trade doesn't seem to be one of your main points on Radio Free Asia. Japan waits for Russia's response to India.

(Japan is after timber. It doesn't have enough :P) Japan offers its ultra-cool cars. Japan also asks Russia to embargo India. If you can convince India to stop blocking my political movements, then I'll be fine. Otherwise I'll have to embargo you too. :P

Japan begins attempting to route more economic activity towards Russia, such as timber imports. Japan doesn't care about India's pathetic embargo, since India doesn't really have much power anyway economically. Japan reminds them that the people of South-East Asia can keep their existing cultures. The political union is purely for foreign policy and the military, as well as the economy. They also remind them of all the successful people in Japan, and how poorly India is doing meeting their citizens basic needs.

But there are no strong political ties being made. Anything that happens in the real world happen in a bunch of steps that seem to mean a lot but do nothing. So that's what I'm doing. :) ----- Japan removes all trade tariffs with South-Eastern Asian nations and raise the tariff on India to 20% for their anti-Japanese propaganda.

Japan tries to reach out for peaceful diplomatic ties with Germany. Meanwhile, Japan continues political integration of Asia, within the framework of the existing ASEAN plus three, of which most of South-East Asia is a part of. China is given the choice for a stronger diplomatic tie instead of integration. Ties are already rather strong within ASEAN plus three, of which India is not a part of.

Japan asks that India remain a cordial relationship towards them (the Japanese) and not spread anti-Japanese propaganda. Thankfully most of the countries that are being broadcasted to aren't even being targeted. Japan begins spreading fliers in the countries broadcasted in by Radio Free Asia, which is more likely to affect the poor population. The focus remains on protecting them on military fronts and not on conforming them to Japanese ideals.

That's good. The cost of your military was really dragging your economy down. Japan asks Russia to consider an alliance, if it pulls out of the Concert of Europe.
