Uh oh, the Chinese government strikes again. (OOC)

Hegemony
"Aid should not be given lightly and freely, like the emporer pointed out, with officials running rampant through the countryside. However, if we were able to amass an international coalition, then Brazil would gladly participate. However, unilateral intervention is wrong and we must have the backing of the international community."

(IC) "I'm sorry, but I think you've misunderstood. Brazil has the full interest of the civilians at heart. The reason we are not sending aid is because the Chinese government has refused it, and we would not like to needlessly interfere in domestic affairs. However, if the situation escalates and war crimes are committed, the Brazillian government will be forced to act. We would have been eager to act otherwise." OOC means Out of Character. Basically, it's for communication between forum peoples, and not actually happening in the game IC means In character, so what you are actually saying in the game.

Brazil responds that it will comply with China's request due to former UN laws that forbade interference into a nation's domestic affairs without acceptance by that nation. However, it will be watching carefully on all sides to make sure war crimes are not committed.

I am only giving food and medical supplies to civilians. Brazil makes a public request (not OOC) for the Chinese government and other powers in the region to allow Brazillian medical and food supplies be distributed to civilians, especially those that have been displaced by the conflict. EDIT: Was OOC, now IC

That would seem biased towards the Chinese government, but do I have permission to remain in China's territory? I think that the crime lords won't attack Brazilian troops that are providing medical supplies, but my troops are capable of protecting themselves.

Errr, so there is a lot of killing going on, huh? Brazil asks the permission of China and other powers involved if it could send a single carrier group with medical and food supplies, to help alleviate the general chaos and dying going on. I would ask the UN, but they kinda suck/don't exist. Note: I'm not taking any sides in this, so my people will not interfere in the fighting (only in self-defence) and only help civilians.

Basically kick the presence out, through diplomatic and then by military means, if necessary. Of course this is all OOC and speculative at best, so it will be known if it comes to it. Probably would be the same way if someone took control of France and laughed at Icu's failed dream of a European Union. :)

Also OOC, but Brazil will not tolerate foreign presence in South America. Just a heads up there. EDIT: Rob, 1% is added to your taxation to pay for every 10 billion you invest. So in 25 years, you'll already be faced with 100% taxation.

I wasn't suggesting that I was going to invade you; I was just curious about how we are doing things. :) What would you say the average build-time for a standard ship be? Think of the stereotypical ship with some armnaments and stuff, destroyers and frigates basically. I mean, some ships take decades, but usually that is due to ineptitude.

I thought armies can be recruited at any time, with a 50% cut in effectiveness for the year they are recruited? Also, there are probaly more pizzas made in the US than in Italy.
-
Hegemony
Doesn't that only have benefits in concession of defeat and monetary repayment? (Excluding stability thing)
-
Hegemony
This is all OOC, right?

Hegemony
Except that he has no casus belli. Well yeah :)

Well, theoretically. Japanese forces are fighting internationally and there have been substantial talks about repealing article 9 (the non-war clause), so public reaction would be strong, but not as dramatic as you were implying. So actually Japanese reaction would probaly be somewhere in the middle.

Recent insinuations of possibly aggressive activity by the Brazillian people have led to the withdrawel of Brazil's pledge to defend Africa from invaders. Any intervention will be on the basis of the protection and respect for human rights alone.

Now, let's stop bickering for a reset or two to solve the world's problems? It's understandable to want to tear each other's heads off, but the world should be able to unite when it is necessary to combat common problems and challenges.

Sorry, I mean 2 million. :)

It's more of a whenever they arrive thing. I figure I'll just have to upgrade the ships and vehicles in the future, but this is basically my army for the game. Hopefully it will be enough to prevent warmongering. :) Seeing as the Chinese army IRL is 2 billion, I think an army can never be too large when, as you said, others are not willing to commit to an alliance.

Okay, so establishing our military: 250,000 Infantry + 3 billion worth of tanks and support vehicles = 20 Billion Two Carrier Groups = 12 billion Coastal defence navy = 18 billion Carrier Group 1 Brasillias Class Aircraft Carrier (based on existing design, with standard technological improvements - 2 billion 4 Modernised Niteroi Frigates (Existing warship) - 2 billion 8 Amphibious Assualt Ships - 2 billion Coastal Defence Navy 20 Modernised Niteroi Frigates - 10 Billion 32 Inhauma Corvettes - 8 billion

We can just invade if they used nuclear weapons. Basically we could create some sort of UN that actually does stuff. OR WE COULD NUKE EVERYONE WITH NUKES! *SARCASM*
-
Hegemony
I had some 30 of them as Japan and they did not help me in any wars. Might want to reconsider, Mather. Well, I mean, they aren't exactly difficult to shoot... Indonesia proposes that nuclear weapons should be outlawed for all nations. Brazil supports this bid, and adds the biological weapons should be banned as well, due to massive civilian casualties and general ecological destruction. It was more that they didn't do anything for a year after you had invaded. They came with some 600 capital ships though, which was slightly overpowered.
