  1. [hide= quote pyramid] [/hide] K so the jeans aren't* the ridiculous looking tight ones. What do you mean by huge soles? Their supposed to be worn without socks, idk if thats what you mean't or not. and the woven pattern is easily fixed, I like to wear these ones personally: http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/mens/shoes/casual/boat/PRD~638206/Eastland+Freeport+Boat+Shoes.jsp You could try something more like these though: http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/shoes/mens/comfort/PRD~476483/Dockers+Antic+Shoes.jsp
  2. What color slim jeans? I'd say some black converse will work with dark or light Boat shoes will work with lighter jeans, something like these bad boys hah Also, i'd say ditch the slim jeans and get ones that are more fitted. Depends on the slim jeans though, by slim I think you're talking more like these: By Fitted I mean more like this, I think it looks classier and in general better:
  3. First off, just wondering here, but how old are you? I want to say Sophomore-Junior, right? Secondly, did you know her ex very well? Like were you good friends or what? If anything, try to be a bit more flirty with her than usual or so. I'm not sure how close you are but make her notice you, something I like to do when walking down the halls around some of the girls I know is to grab them and kind of force them into a hug or so. Maybe call her name out. Initiate some form of her noticing you, start small and slowly grow with it till you think she'd want to go out with you. Depending on how she takes something like that is whether or not you know she'll turn you away or not. Give her a little bit of time though, to get over this breakup she just had though. And post pictures if you like, I'm sure Lent or Harr will give you some great advice with that
  4. True, I live in Cincinnati so there are a lot of options around here, and I forgot about your connections in other places for suits hah.
  5. Tbh Men's warehouse is terrible... Try applying to a smaller local place or something. I definitely prefer the service I get at those places compared to Men's warehouse... The guy that was helping us when I was checking out a suit there was a complete [wagon]... There are also good chances that you could get a nicer suit cheaper at a small store.
  6. Hey anybody, how can you tell how high quality a pair of shoes are (besides a ridiculous price tag)? Like online and not online.
  7. I'd agree with that, I've been noticing shoes more lately as well, and on top of that my boat shoes have been getting some attention from the ladies as well. I've heard is the first thing a girl looks at is the kind of shoes you wear... Choose wisely as for what goes with what you're wearing. Like your converse would go well with the dark jeans and the light shirt, but these boat shoes look much better with a pair of light jeans or khaki's. It really depends on the look you're going for. I'm getting close to my tip.it based Lent taught fashion graduate haha. I'm definitely starting to notice more trends and what looks good/what doesn't type of stuff. Oh and about the school sponsored shirt. Only wear it somewhere if it's an inside joke or not or whatever... Sen10rs is anything BUT original... and I didn't say that the shirt was good, but it fit your body well. It doesn't look too tight yet at the same time it doesn't look to loose.
  8. I signed up for it 20 minutes ago, just got the email. Maybe your email is broken hah. Some really nice stuff here... But at the same time a lot of this looks really really gay :/
  9. Theres a kid at my school that looks really close to RPG, same hairstyle and everything. Looks so. effing. bad. He used to get a buzz and looked fine. Rpg makes the long hair work better though.
  10. Down 13 pounds after my first week. At 182 now. My pants fit better :) I've been doing a mile a day and worked out 2 times a week. Focusing more on cardio stuff than weights to get rid of my belly first. Thats my main goal. And during my runs sometimes I do bursts of sprinting thrown in.
  11. Some people look better with long hair. Fact. Lent, if you're looking at medium brown, you won't find what you like. Cognac is where it's at. But it's a pain to take care of. Few and far between though :/ from seeing people at school anyway. Most look better with short. Those are some sweet as hell shoes though...
  12. I'd go with Lent on that, the mens long hair phase is definitely over (Thank god)
  13. Get a buzz cut, well not even a full on buzz cut. Get it trimmed, I'd say one inch maximum. It looks really scruffy in the picture, I don't think the long hair suits you as well as a closer cut would. The curls on it make it look kind of nasty... My current haircut is a bit longer in the front but buzzed on the sides. Myself , not sure how well you can see it but it was the best picture I have post haircut :P Stuff along this line would look good with the jeans Long sleeve Blue Casual shirts Make sure that what you wear fits you though. None of the gigantic shirts that are way too big for you, yet at the same time none of the shirts that are so tight they show off your belly or your man boobs or anything like that. The shirt you're wearing in the picture looks pretty good. Throw one of the shirts above over that and you'll look pretty fly. Throw on a black/brown belt (depending upon your shoes) and you're good to go. You also seem like you're pretty tall, so I'd recommend straying from vertical lined shirts and more toward horizontal or cross hatched shirts. Shoe wise, if you're looking at a concert(and I'm thinking of a more rock/rap/hip hop concert) I'd go with some converse(black of the light blue) or vans(probably more towards a black color). If it's a night out on the town(or a more formal concert like Jazz or vocal). IIf it's a night out on the town I'd go with some Boat Shoes. . They're not too dressy, but at the same time not trashy. First thing women notice are the shoes. Do the frontal shirt tuck thing someone mentioned above too. It makes the belt stand out better.
  14. Something like this? [hide=oxbloods] [/hide] If it's like that I'd say it'd be pretty tough, thats a really funky brown if thats even brown at all... Maybe like a clay red type of deal... But you are the fashion Guru here. I'm sure you could pull it off. I'd prefer a pair of lighter brown shoes myself, and I agree with you that the darker browns are really ugly :/ I'd probably go more along the lines of [hide=Oxfords] [/hide]
  15. Same here, I go to a school of about 800(400ish guys) and 1-2 others have a decent sense of fashion... Football school bleh. All it is here is athletic shorts and the like. I wore flat front khakis today, a collared short sleeve shirt and a red shirt under that. People freak out when a guy is semi dressy. Kind of ironic, especially when if a girl gets dressy its all good but if a guy gets slightly dressed up or so then it's like a bomb went off. "OMG why are you wearing that?" "Dude wtf is up with that?" "What they hell are you doing?" and etc... However, girls like it  One reason I can't wait for college though, I'm sure there will be more fashionable straight guys around then.
  16. Cardio is CW garbage. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/case-against-cardio/ Did you actually read the article? He's advocating exactly what I am, prolonged low intensity UT2 training to burn fat coupled with occasional AT (sprint training) to improve anaerobic capacity and strength. So it turned out it wasn't a full on rowing machine, but my running has been doing quick sprints and the like at points. Hopefully it'll start showing results soon! :D
  17. [hide=Sentry Wolf] [/hide] Hi-jack away! If you're dressing up, like suit/tux kind of deal get a real fedora, the wide brim and all. But I'd say go with that skate fedora for just a pair of jeans and a button up or something along those lines (Skate fedora being the thin brimmed one). And that Beret... yeah I'd say don't go with that...
  18. [hide=Assasins Post] [/hide] I like the sound of this UT2 training. Theres a rowing machine at fitworks with a built in heart rate monitor... At least I think it was a rowing machine... But I went to fitworks for the first time with a friend today and he showed me how to use most of the equipment so I have a general base for what I should do. Ran an 8 minute mile! Haha! Was able to bench 95 pounds, and do reps with I think 80... Or something around there... As for the dieting part, I should go with a high protein diet? Do you know of anywhere I can really read up on recipes and in general food knowledge of high protein stuff? I'm a picky eater which is going to make this reeeaaaalllllyyyyy hard.... Also, I don't eat fruits or vegetables. I'm trying to force myself to like them, but for now I've got two pills, Juice Plus, which give me 3000mg/day of assorted fruit/vegetables and I've also got One a Day Teen Advantage. Are these Good/bad/ok to be taking or what? Oh, and I've decided that my main goal right now is to lose my belly fat. Does that mean work hardcore on abs/cardio stuff?
  19. I haven't gotten the membership yet, I've got a 1 week trial but will end up getting it. Not entirely sure what the group classes are but I'll look into them thanks!
  20. So just start off doing cardio stuff till I have better stamina?
  21. Heya Guys, semi-new poster on tif. I made a topic a bit ago about how to dress classy on the normal off topic, but now to go with that I want to thin down a bit and build up some muscle tone so I can fit along with the look better and hopefully get more energy in day to day stuff and etc. Trying to thin up a bit. Some info: Age: 17 Weight: 190 lb's (exact) Height: 5' 7.5" Equipment access: [hide=Gym - Fitworks] -Cardio Equipment including Ellipticals, Treadmills, Recumbent Bikes, Upright Bikes, Step Machines, & More -Cardio Cinema Room---Watch Movies While You Workout on a 15' Theater Screen w/Dolby Digital Surround Sound! -Strength Training Equipment -Free Weights -Sprint Circuit Equipment--Great for Beginners! -Amazing Group Fitness Classes for All Fitness Levels! -MVP Sports Acceleration Training [/hide] [hide=Home] -Eliptical Machine -Small weights, 2lb, 5 lb, 10lb -I guess I can throw in jogging here [/hide] I can usually do nights, I'm hoping to hit up the gym/run when I can! Problem is, I have no idea what to do :( I've tried googling stuff and I just get confused from all the jargin and all the information out there. I was hoping some of you guys could help me set up a bit of a work out for when I'm home and when I'm at the gym? I've got no idea what to do, what to lift, what workouts to do. Thanks so much anyone that helps!
  22. I think there might be a limit though. At my school, I'm pushing that line hard just by wearing flat front khakis, a belt, and a not tucked in button up. I did get a lot of attention though, but at the same time people were just like why the hell are you wearing that? Haha, my answer was simply that I like wearing it. What do you guys think of sweater vests? Yes or no?
  23. No. You lock that **** down. All her bases belong to you. Well, the thing is she's incredibly shy. She might be uncomfortable with that is what I guess I was thinking. If she's shy, that's even more of a reason not to wait for her to make the first move... Chances are she's waiting for it
  24. I love my uncle. He just gave me a bunch of button up shirts, plaid, all sorts of different styles. The only reason he gave them to me was because he got more new ones that he wanted and needed closet space. These are some nice as hell shirts too, $40 shirts, all sorts of colors. I've just gotta work on getting money for a shopping trip sometime soon. My to do list is: - Blazer - Slip on Boat esque shoes, something of the sort. - New Pair of dark Jeans
  25. Guys, you have no idea how much help this is! Really, it truly is. I'm leaning more towards the boat shoes though, I want them to wear with the Khaki's. They're not too dressy but still a step above gym shoes. I figure I've got my converse for the Jeans, Those for the Khaki's, and some dress shoes for the dress pants.
