Private chat?
When I first started playing, a Jagex staff impersonator messaged me and requested my login information, which I wisely declined to offer. From then on, I have kept my private chat on Friends. Recently, I thought, "What's the worst that could happen?" and turned my private chat On. Almost immediately, a random username (which I did not recognize) asked me why I was on their friend list. They were not on mine. (What are the odds?) Do you all keep your private chat on On, or on Friends for the same reason I do? Are there any good reasons to turn private chat on?

Are there any "old school" players still out there?

Well, if this was to happen ever; gf, dragon claws. You are now outclassed by the double dragon dagger. With poison, it's a friggin' ddds! Assuming linear addition, it would have a strength and stab attack of 80. Comparison: whip has 82 slash attack and strength. This means that your special, which would take 25%, would be like four whip-hits near-instantly. Do I hear knock-out? On topic: I agree, it is strange that the bow is held that way. It makes no sense to me, maybe it is to cut amount of idle animations in half? Ah, but with double daggers, how will you defend yourself? It is natural that double daggers would provide a negative defense bonus, and possibly not increase the strength bonus from 1 dagger as well- falconry botters
I like dungoneering, great minigame. Horrible skill. I don't even think it's a good minigame- Which Money Sinks Would Help Runescape Economy?
Maybe the coin drops from monsters could be decreased by 20%; not too drastic, but won't upset too many players either and would slow the flow of coins into the game- falconry botters
The point was that "I don't think it's wrong" isn't good justification for botting, not that botting is synonymous to hacking accounts. <_< But whatever. Well i thought i covered why i dont think its wrong is a good justification for botting in the post you just quoted :P My mistake. I read your post; it seems to me that per your justification, it is acceptable to cheat on tests if you find studying tedious, because you get out of school to have fun! Then, just as the botted skiller shows off his 99 Firemaking, you can show off your 99% on the History exam. Yes, I realize that it's "just a game," but still - falconry botters

So perhaps a tax on bulk trades only (such as 10k+ ores/logs or 100+ units of armour/weapons at a time) would work?- Which Money Sinks Would Help Runescape Economy?
Sorry, but I have to agree. A GE tax might work, but 1% seems a bit high; why not .1 or even .05%? The difference is that instead of 12.7B being removed, it would be 1.27B or 635m. However, compared to 0 gp, 635m is nothing to cough at. Sure, it would have a minimal effect on the economy, but you won't find many riots being held over having to pay an extra 50gp per dragon scimitar. EDIT: I realize that fractionals would cause this number to decrease by a significant amount, but removing a couple hundred million per month still isn't to shabby- Bow holding
The defender only provides a bonus to attack. It does not make you attack twice. The new dual-wielding would cause you to attack twice Why can't we have some "light" topics? Not everything has to be about "uber-important" stuff. tbh, I was just wondering if anyone had noticed this slight graphical error, but brought up being ambidextrous and double daggers because nobody seemed to care about the graphics themselves :)- Bow holding
That is a very good idea Nope, as you can see, the Runescape character holds the bow in its right and pulls with its left, your definition of a lefty- falconry botters
i don't think botting is wrong Yeah, what if someone thinks hacking high levels to get cool free accounts isn't wrong, either? There are people who don't think flaming others for being 'nerds' or 'n00bs' is wrong either; doesn't mean it's right- Bow holding
There are no stupid threads, only stupid people in them... Anyway, I think some limited ability to double weapons would be neat. Especially if it came with some ninja type skills! Stealth skill!! Hear me Jagex!! WORK ON ALLOWING US TO BE NINJAS!! Well said. Also, I was thinking that this would be more along the lines of barbarian weapon holding, comparable to barbarian fishing and barbarian firemaking- Bow holding
But think of the possibilities of being ambidextrous! Double crossbow bolt barrage, anyone? DOUBLE DDS SPEC OMFG NEW CLAWS. DOUBLE WHIPS OMFG. DOUBLE SHIELDS OMFG. THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS! Double elemental staves! Steam in one hand, lava in the other! Now that's just crazy talk. Anyway, I'm done with this thread. Stupid thread is stupid. Alright. I never like to be the provocateur- Bow holding

Lol. Nice spoof, when did you get so delusional. Girlfriend, in real life? u funny naise joke. Good point. RS characters can cast magic spells and lift boulders, so why not hold two daggers at once? Nice information, and an interesting conjecture. However, a simple fix (or maybe not so simple?) could be to have the player choose whether he/she would like to be left or right-handed, and just have the sprites be mirror-images of each other- Bow holding
Nowadays, in the Unstable Foundations tutorial, beginning players are not taught combat, but are left to their wits to defeat a goblin while Sir Vant keeps a dragon at bay. They naturally wield the sword in their right hand- Bow holding
Exactly what I said; however, the Runescape character, supposedly right-handed, pulls with its left Lol, oops read it wrong. I don't know, maybe they are ambidextrous, they left arm is really strong, just look at that dfs/ granite shield, and think how tough it must be to lift it. you don't need something as petty as strength to hold a dfs. its all in the DEFENCEsssss.... It is conceivable that only characters adept in defense would be able to keep themselves safe from harm while attacking with a dagger in the offhand slot; therefore only characters with high defense would be able to attack with dual daggers. Progress waits for no one!- Bow holding

Who the hell cares.. This is a serious issue. It could change our whole prospective on the life of our characters! Perhaps you all do not see the magnitude of such an obscure issue. If Runescape characters are ambidextrous, then who is to say that one cannot wield a dagger in each hand, providing double the attack strength? Um Jagex? You make a good point., yet we have already seen progress in this field with the defender, which is half shield and half dagger!- Bow holding

I have noticed that the Runescape character holds a sword in its right hand, implying that he/she is right-handed, yet holds bows (which are 2h weapons and could be held in either hand) in the right as well. I am right-handed, but hold bows in my left and pull the string with my right. Are Runescape characters ambidextrous?- Good range training location?
I currently have 61 range, but was looking to train to the 70s for GWD. Was wondering if there were any particularly good training spots at my level (53 defense if it matters.) Thanks! :)- falconry botters
I don't care either, unless they're stealing my skilling spots or some kid is accusing me of being a bot Yep, that was pretty funny. Still doesn't change the fact that we have a botting problem, regardless of how funny that post was. Yeah, I'm just hoping that post was sarcastic - Bow holding
