  1. It was intentional--there's apparently some dialogue options (although its been said a lot in Q&A's the past few days as well) that explain that Saradomin was using a projection of himself while he fought on the battlefield. Gods of Saradomin's tier have some pretty awesome multitasking abilities like that, apparently. (Makes me wonder if Bandos is of the same tier, considering the whole Bandos Avatar nonsense that was going on earlier in the Fifth Age.) The delay of the Battle of Lumbridge and RS3 was actually the thing that caused DoC to be released much later than it was planned to be--because they wanted to make sure it was out during the BoL. (Supposedly they will be removing that dialogue after the BoL is over.)
  2. We're confirmed to not see any more gods intervene in the BoL itself, but it's possible we will have a quest or something similar like that which has a god returning in it. Even so, I would say that it's not very likely for us to see any more gods until the next World Event in about five weeks. I'd like to see Seren returning in some form or another, but I know it's very unlikely that we will have that happening anytime soon. :( <tangent> If I had to design it, it would be a World Event ontop of the Underground Pass mountain where the Seren supporters have to bring back pieces of her to a dolmen where the Elves are trying to form her crystals together again, while Zaros (or Sliske, or another "god") supporters sneakily ambush folks and ransack them of their crystals on the way up the mountain passes. If only :P </tangent>
  3. They're both the same design, just lighted a bit differently. You can see the Varrock shield he "borrowed" for his armor on the breast of it, just mirrored. My prediction as to the change in his design is that he has been changed from "big angry stupid warmonger" to a more Greek-style "God of Tactics and Warfare who tricks the lesser races with his intellect" sort of thing. Not only would it provide less conflict with the design of Tuska, but it would also fit in with the whole thing they've been repeating over and over again lately about how the Gods will often be drastically different from what their followers believe they are like.
  4. Here's a good picture from The Origins of Gielinor, thanks to RSwiki Here's a very tiny picture of the concept art for him we were shown at one point His design has changed very, very drastically since then however, according to the JMods. Apparently they want him to look surprising.
  5. Gods are only mortal after all.. and look how much we Fashionscape :?
  6. It's a really cool-looking set. I'm hoping to do enough daily challenges and monster slaying to get the whole set. :D The necklace's charm double chance sounds like it's gonna be really interesting and useful.
  7. You won't have to wait long--apparently they are trying to do the old "quest every month occasionally two months" style again. I'd predict that we have about four left to be released this year (the four that were hinted to in the Q&A, "cannons, masks, feathers, and crystals".)
  8. I'm really hoping for a Seren-focused quest, which makes me excited for the "crystals" hint. :) Perhaps we'll see part of her influence outside of Tirannwn, if there is any. I agree about the Masks quest probably being Missing, Presumed Death. Interested to see how Grim features in it. In other news, Mod Stu is STILL posting replies to the Campfire Q&A, because apparently he wants to keep Mod Phoenix stuck at Jagex offices for as long as possible. :P I'll be posting any new tidbits on my post on the previous page. (Did that link work? Direct permalinks to posts have been iffy for me lately.) EDIT: Almost 11 PM England time and Mod Stu is still chugging along. I don't know how he does it. EDIT: And he finally finished it. Geez, that was ridiculously long--in a good way :) The post has had its final edits.
  9. The current podcast is being streamed here and the previous ones are available here. It's sort of hidden away, so I don't blame you for not being able to find it :P This podcast seems very based on the mods themselves instead of being anything lore or update related. I'll still be updating the post if it drops any interesting tidbits but I wouldn't expect much. EDIT: Yep, pretty much just random fluff. I updated the previous post with the one or two interesting things they said.
  10. What was the big reveal? To be honest I'm not really sure, it wasn't explicitly stated. I'd imagine it's either the whole "Where Zaros came from is why he's interesting" thing or the "The next quests will be about a) cannons, b) masks, c) feathers and d) crystals" thing. Either way we really didn't get any super-huge reveals, just hints. Alright, since this is the start of a new page, I'll use this post to summarize the podcast's reveals. [spoiler=Click here for Podcast summary as it happens!] Zaros likes to control, but he is "empty enough" that he lets people do what they want. He is simultaneous a god for people who want structure and people who want free will. Lots of rambling about the Mods' favorite gods, nothing particularly interesting to note. I'll update this if there's any new lore content. Divine Tears were orignally called "Guthix Juice". There will not be any gameplay benefits to any specific faction--if they give any Faction-based rewards (Combat abilities, etc) they will only be aesthetically different. Gods aren't exactly the way they have been portrayed--Many gods are drastically different than their followers believe they are. The Godless are going to become a bigger faction--and the player will get involved in some fashion. ..And that's it?..
  11. I like the idea of Zaros being a sort of balancing mechanism of fate that the Elder Gods created that eventually went rogue and decided to interact directly with the world. :P Apparently there is another Lore Podcast in twenty minutes, so I guess I will have to summarize that as well. All these Jmods making this a very busy day for me :) I'll probably end up putting it in a spoiler at the end of this post, I don't like being spammy.
  12. My bad!! I typically do, this time I wasn't expecting to need to do this post. :) I'l go back and add one
  13. There's a Death of Chivalry campfire Q&A going on. Not too much interesting, so I'm not doing a transcript or anything, but apparently there's a big reveal coming in 10 minutes so supposedly there will be big news to announce. In the meantime, some of the tastier details (Spoilers for DoC included, so be careful!) Linza will feature in a quest in the next year, but won't be the next Signature Hero we see in a quest. The Death of Chivalry will be updated to reflect the outcome of the Battle of Lumbridge in some way Guthix can't be resurrected by the wand--Gods die in different ways than mortals, creating an explosion of life force spreading across the world. Missing, Presumed Death will be released before Christmas. Brassica Prime will be featured in a quest this year.\ Centaurs in the Enchanted Valley will be updated to the new standard eventually Apparently the unique thing about Zaros is "not what he is, but where he came from." (This is apparently a HUGE hint.) The next quest will be "soon". Apparently they want a much shorter wait between quests from now on. Zamorak will have his own quest sometime in the future. "Tier 1 of gods is the Elder Gods, Tier 2 is Guthix, Zaros at full power, and Seren at full power. That might surprise some.." Apparently the full tier list will be finished soon, when Osborne gets around to it. Armadyl is the "God of Law and Freedom". (Editor's Note: 'murica.) The Frozen Door in the new area from DoC either leads to the God Wars Dungeon or something "more interesting". We may end up seeing behind it in the future. Missing, Presumed Death will answer the question of if Sliske is a god, and how he got the Staff of Armadyl. There will be a choice in an upcoming quest which leads to a divergent storyline--unlike the "choice means next to nothing" endings of DoC and TWW. Owen needed to be corrupted to continue his character development and questline, so they couldn't make it optional. Saradomin's new look is a permanent graphical upgrade he decided to do to himself. Elder Artifacts change their shape to fit their wielder. "The Crown Archival wouldn't have been much use to the Elder Gods at its current size" There is a Falador graphical rework under development, it's "looking pretty sweet". Apparently Missing, Presumed Death will upset some stereotypes about the gods. Bandos' god form is apparently the biggest 3D Model they have ever made. Saradomin's relation with Zaros, as well as the reason he decided to do his own retconning of history to remove the knowledge of Zaros, will be explored in a Sixth Age quest Here is the Game Update FAQ article for the Death of Chivalry. The next four quests will be about "Cannons, masks, feathers, and crystals". (Presumably, each of these is a different quest) Seren's original race is a secret, but she has never been an elf. The player's World Guardian anti-God powers make you the only person in Gielinor who could NOT become a God. Saradomin and Zamorak are the only gods that have returned so far. Gods returning will not be a hidden thing in the Sixth Age, it will be very obvious to us when they return. Here's a picture of the Wand of Resurrection Here's a picture of the puzzle chamber Here's a picture of Fern There are apparently designs for an Eagle's Peak rework being floated around the graphics team, but there has been no official decision as to work on one or not. Here's a picture of Captain Dulcin's armor Concept art for early designs of Zaros' new appearance have been made, but they don't want to show them off because a lot might change by the time it's finished. Here's a picture of corrupted Sir Owen Saradomin is "more reasonable and tolerant than either side has been led to believe. The ends justify the means. I don't think he would condemn a demon who was committed to his ideals. ". "Saradomin fights to protect the world from outsiders". Brassica Prime was on Gielinor during the Edicts, Guthix simply didn't foresee him as a threat. Saradomin's Power comes from the Crown Archival, apparently. The truth about the Afterlife in Runescape will be made clear "very soon", presumably with the quest Missing, Presumed Death. Mod Stu wants more cosmetic overrides as quest and event rewards in the future. Mod Stu is going to be joining the work on the next World Event as soon as he does bugfixes for The Death of Chivalry. :) Here's a picture of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. (Don't ask me.) Mod Phoenix has left for the night. Persistent choice is going to be a big part of the Sir Owen quest series, even more so than in DoC itself. Mod Stu apparently just had a long chat with Mod Seven, plotting and planning for the future. He is back to answering questions now. Stu is interested in doing a Director's Commentary stream--a playthrough of The Death of Chivalry with the original quest creators and have them talk about it as they go. The lack of damage scaling on basic attacks in the quest is intentional, as they wanted it to be focused around beginner players. Mod Stu does recognize how disappointing this made the combat feel to more experienced players, and will make sure to add it in future non-beginner quests. They will apparently be changing the Skeletons in the quest to have some sort of HP scaling, as one-hitting hordes of smaller enemies apparently wasn't as appealing as Stu expected. Combat scaling tech used in DoC will be used in future quests "where it enriches the experience". (IE: Not all quests from now on.) They still want to tweak and tune it a bit before implementing it in any further quests. Every single choice you made in The Death of Chivalry has been recorded--including what prayer you said over Sir Owen's body. These will factor into future quests Your Emissary choice is not going to lock you into any specific decisions--you will not be penalized for switching as you learn more about different gods. There is an in-lore reason for why the barrier thinks you are "pure of heart" even though you have killed, murdered, and plundered--it is a plot point of the sequel quest. Mod Stu likes the idea of combining the Elf and Gnome storylines into a single one, as it will allow for both to be progressed while using less staff resources. The two are very closely related already Aaand its over! Will be updating as it goes..
  14. I think he may not have yet been a true god--rather a lesser god like the Desert Pantheon who didn't get thrown out. Perhaps that will change because of the sources of energy that have appeared since the Sixth Age. If he was a more major god I think we probably would have heard about him previously a bit more. Even Zaros (Who was supposed to be so secret and purposefully hidden by other gods) seems like a rock star in comparison.
  15. My guess is V------ That's actually a really good point. We still don't know the extent as to how long he stayed with the Stone of Jas--he could've been drenched in its power for decades. Perhaps he's a part of the Fremmenik Gods now, hmm?
  16. Are you kidding me? I just wasted 4 weeks for nothing. You can't just change it in the middle of an event. Now it's useless. Should have been changed the first week, or not at all. 25 tiers better than every other f2p armor set is a little OP though. Definitely worth changing. It's a hybdrid armour, so the -15 tier penalty is in effect. So? So now it's useless, instead of being a tier 60, which is not a big jump at all. I don't get how the best f2p armor is useless *NINJA'D* It's not the best f2p armour anymore as when it reverts back to lvl 50 gear, the defense values of the armour is the equivalent of a lvl 35 armour which is rubbish hence why it becomes useless armour.. Level 35 tier defense values on Hybrid style armor is still more valuable than Level 40 tier defense values on normal armor, thanks to the way the combat triangle factors into defense. (The exact same effect is why Tier 75 members version of the armor is frequently debated to be the best armor in the entire game) This combined with the set effect makes it really, really quite worth it--even for F2P. The thing is that now it won't be ridiculously overpowered to the point of being ridiculous in F2P.
  17. [spoiler=Quest Spoilers]Really, really good quest. I like the new combat scaling--while it was incredibly easy, it still took a lot more effort than a No-Requirements quest would have otherwise. :P The lore in this quest was phenomenal. While the choices only influenced dialogue for the most part, it still felt as if your character wasn't just going to follow Saradomin. I'm not sure how it was for anyone else, but it feels like my decision to go against his will has caused the eventual end of Sir Owen's life from the corruption as well as revealing Saradomin's true anger. I agree that the Wand of Resurrection does not seem like an Elder Artifact as it was created long after their demise. Curious that they would introduce something that is so similar without some sort of dialogue to tell us that it isn't, though. Being able to say a prayer to your god over Sir Owen's body was a nice touch. I wonder what the text of the other prayers were like--Seren's was very nicely written. The whole Golden Cabbage reward is quite possibly the greatest thing I've seen in a very long time. Not going to spoil it for anyone (even if they want to be) but just know that it is absolutely worth it to kick it around a bit. :P Overall, a quest of very high quality. If this is just the first of many Sixth Age quests, I am very excited to see how great the others will be. Also: [spoiler=Spoiler inside a spoiler]IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM!
  18. Just a heads up: Tier 2 rewards have now unlocked, as well as the new Champion units, new Lumbridge Vote, and a new Buff Vote. :)
  19. They are posted on the Runescape PodBean page when they are made available post-airing. It isn't on there yet so I guess they haven't uploaded it just yet. It may be available already on iTunes, however. I don't have iTunes so I can't check for you :(
  20. Divination Lore Podcast!I joined a little late so I'll have to go back and edit it a bit. Gonna update this post as it happens. Something something "Hunting Rod" something something (Later answers seem to imply they were making fun of the idea of Divination using a tool. Divination does not have any tool required) Memories of Guthix gathered from Divination are not actual lore content--they are simply objects harvested. One of the aims of Divination is that players won't compete over resources. It's meant to be more like Bonfires, where any amount of players cant harvest without hurting one another. You gather Memories from wisps, deposit them in Craters for a choice between Energy or Additional XP. It's not meant to be too complicated. Wisps will move, but not as much as Implings--meant to be something you can talk to friends while doing. "When interesting things appear, click on them". Lots of random things happening while training, rewards you for paying attention but not mandatory. Portent of Restoration is "like food, but transformed into a different form". It will heal you using itself over time as you are damaged. Divine Energy is a good thing to stockpile for the second new skill. Other resources are used to a large extent. Tips for training Divination: "Make boons." Boons are permanent enhancements that make you better at gathering the energy. They are dancing around the release date for the second skill. Apparently Mod Mark and Mod Hugh have a discussed release date, but believe that it will likely be even earlier than that. Skill 2 "might work against Divination, lore-wise". Mod Mark and Osborne want to have entire quests based around it. Skill 2 will try to tie several skills together into being storyline-relevant. Wisps will be in Dungeoneering on Complexity 6. Skill doors and craftable items to allow you to progress through levels Divination nodes "won't be as wide-spread as Woodcutting" but will be in specific sort of areas. NPCs will have a map that shows you areas where Wisps are currently spawning, and it will apparently change. You will apparently see much of the world whilst training the skill. No tools required to gather energy. Because of how new the skill is, the NPCs themselves haven't learned much about it yet either and are far from mastering it. Won't have a guild until the future. They aren't revealing how you will get the skillcape. Divination rewards will help Gathering and Combat, but not Production skills. Skill 2 will have Production Skill based rewards. Mining/Smithing rework isn't in development, but is consistently brought up by specific Jmods in meetings. They will have to figure out how worthwhile it would be first, to people who have already trained it especially. Divination is the knowledge of the Anima Mundi--mastering it won't bring you any closer to being a god. "Light-Sculpting" from Guthix's Memories is not the second skill. It is Mod Osborne's fault that people are thinking it's related. The second skill will be drastically different from Divination thematically.
  21. Why are you saying it will be on the 19th? It could be next week. Next week is the quest. This Friday's BTS is for the new quest (Next week's update) and then next Friday has Divination Part 2 BTS (two weeks from now's update).
  22. The image is apparently part of the new "Enhanced Gathering" stuff. I never got these emails :o how? Could have gone to your spam folder, or you might have turned off promotional emails in your account settings. I'd say check your spam folder, possibly add a spam exception for [email protected], or check your account settings on the website where it has your email stuffs. Make sure you're a Premier Club Member too, but I think that's sort of obvious. :^_^: It's kind of finicky.
  23. Got my Premier Club Newsletter for the month. [spoiler=Click Here for Spoilers] The image is apparently part of the new "Enhanced Gathering" stuff.
  24. I think the fact that he wasn't sure if he was even allowed to say that is the biggest indicator that it's something more interesting than the inevitable return of all current gods. I agree that we've probably already heard of the Gods he's referring to, though. Knowing that he likely wouldn't have read Osborne's previous Q&A (and thus the extent as to which he revealed the gods), I think the most probable idea is that he's talking about the Fremmenik Gods and the Karamjan God. They have big quest-centric parts to be played in the upcoming events of the SIxth Age, so it's likely that even an interface designer would have heard about them and their featuring updates in some shape or form. Of course, we can't rule out the idea that there may be other surprises waiting for us. I think it's likely that we will discover new Elder Gods by the end of the Sixth Age--perhaps even more than just "Dramen" and the Freneskae Elder God.
