  1. Theres a big difference between swearing in some situations ('oh [cabbage] I just died'), which wouldn't be reportable, and directing disgusting things at a person, which defineatly would. Just because the filter is togglable doesn't mean people can get away with saying anything they like. Previously the rules said that if something was blocked by the filter you shouldn't report it, mainly because if you did jagex would see stars in the evidence and wouldn't even know themselves what the person said.

With this update it's more likely that if you report something that was starred out jagex will now know exactly what they said, so for example if they're saying horrible things about a persons race or whatever, it's definetly worth reporting even if it is starred out. I would rather turn the filter off so I know exactly what people are saying around me, I'm an adult and I can handle a few swear words lol, if used in a non malicious way.

Anyone remember when 'damn' was censored? So if you saw 'oh ****' you didnt know if they were swearing or just saying something that was stupidly blocked, that's why I'll always have the filter off. 'urs' as in yours was another stupid one blocked for a long time. So what I'm saying is this can be a good and bad thing, depending on the maturity of the person.

  2. Getting crashed at Frosts happens once, twice at most a day. You guys are making it sound like it's impossible to kill them when it's still 4M+ gp an hour, crashed or not lol.

Its maybe 4m cash/h but not all is profit. Around 2.5-3m/h profit if meleeing 2m/h afk ranging

Before free trade, yeah. Since free trade they've shot back up from 15k to 20k+ and 4m p/h profit is about right for melee. And I rarely get crashed there, I would imagine a 138 with overloads would be even less likely to be crashed. Also people forget there is more than 1 effective spot, everybody seems to go to south west.

  3. No, imo the game got a lot better on the 1st of feb despite the problems the freedom is worth it. To me its the start of a new era and I don't see rs dying anytime soon. Like blade said people have been saying this for years, with almost every update someone crys that judgement day has arrived, why so pessemistic?

  4. Awesome, I kinda want to go f2p and try this just for the lulz. Would be even better if there was a way to kill bots training in p2p, not sure where people will be botting now though. Mostly they used to be at green drags or fire giants in chaos tunnels but with wildy back I guess they aren't around anymore. Maybe at blue drags? You could make a trail of d bones and lure them to black demons

  5. Kinda an off topic question but I just want to ask when do you guys think Dragon Bones will stabilize at 5k or below again? The price is pretty insane at the moment...

A lot less people are killing green drags, Ive been pking at east drags and seen noone killing them when before the update there would be like 5+ people every world. And getting to the chaos tunnel ones means running through multi. And tons of people who were killing frost drags for money, have switched over to pking/staking/merching. So I don't think they're gonna stabilise anytime soon...

  6. The fact that there's no reason for people not to bring a full BoB full of food and safe even in low lvl wild is going to get annoying. Even if i had a yak fighting someone else with a yak would just be lame, not anything exciting as jagex thinks it's going to be.\

Ugh, all i'm gonna be doing is fighting with a tort full of tails/brews for like 10 minutes against someone else doing the exact same thing.

    I'm [bleep]ing mad bro.

It's very easy to get past safing. With chaotic weapons, and claws, it's very easy to deal more damage than the person can heal. PKing is about knocking the other person out before he has a chance to eat his food or run away. It's not about making them use up all their food.

No one my lvl has a dps high enough to just overwhelm anyone with any reasonable defense in gear constantly eating tails or brews. The rate of healing is always faster if they are continuously eating. I know for a fact that it's never happened to me yet, and the only ways i die are through veng combos or when i leave myself at low health to try and KO them and fail.

The reason you wouldn't continuously eat is simply because you're not going to win the fight if you do and you're just wasting time and money doing so and you run out of food. Familiars would get rid of that problem and just make the costs of fights higher because people just bring more gear now.

I just want to know why this happened. What possible reason was there to change the way summoning worked? What was wrong with the old way?

Also, summoning isn't a combat skill anymore in the context of Pvp. Because it doesn't affect your CB lvl that determines who you fight, it might as well just be a non-cb skill now. Of course you can "see" it, but some of the same arguments for herblore still apply. It just isn't as broken as extremes/ovl would have been.

Also i tried it out and my familiar kept stepping on my opponent, making the fights a lot more annoying cuz i had to keep right clicking.

Noone who is 1v1ing in edge brings a bob, or any familiar for that matter for the same reason noone prays melee through the fight. Because noone will fight them = they get no kills. Fair 1v1 fighting in edge has informal rules, to make fights more fun and stop them just being a case of nobody ever dying. Sure I could bring a yak, 35 brews and 15 sup restores pray melee and eat at 90hp oops I mean 900lp, but if everyone did that noone would ever die and everyone would lose tons of money. Bobs will be mostly used in deep wild pking, where combat level doesn't matter much anyway. Hybrids/rushers in lower level wildy are more likely to use a wolper or uni. tl;dr it hasn't affected edge pking, all it's done has given rusher failbrids in edge a small advantage.

  7. There are tons of runecrafters standing around at the altars but no runners. Looks like people these days expect more for their time.

Any ZMI company is going to have to be widely publicized and pay quite a bit for an inventory of essence.

It will take time, I'm sure the thought on most peoples mind when free trade came back wasn't 'woot! now i can run essence', but in time the lower levels looking for a quick buck will start to think of it. At the moment they're too busy swarming everyones kills in wildy like vultures hoping to snipe some loot. It's so annoying to get a kill and have 3 no itemers come dd on you when you're looting spamming 'leave the rune for me pl0x' :wall: #-o

  8. People saying bots never left are half right, but the coming update has made a huge increase in the numbers, you just have to take a look at the pure ess mines to see that. Now that people can bot on throwaway accs and transfer the money without risking their mains it makes sense that more people will be tempted. Doesn't really bother me though tbh, they keep prices down and they don't harm me personally. I think it's worth it for free trade and wildy. And rumours are their will be a big mass ban when the update comes, which should put people off.

  9. Nice to know that it can be done, but a laptop is a lot simpler. I'm sure in a few years when handheld tech keeps developing we'll see more effective ways to play mobile rs. Then nerds can get some sunlight too  (kidding don't get offended anyone lol)

  10. What tasks do you guys think is best to skip? I just skip terror dogs spirit mages and jungle/desert strykes. everything else seems ok xp/effigies/charms

you can easily get 2 Dragon boots per Spirit mage task which is only gonna take around 40-60 mins depending on concentration, Definatley worth doing IMO and they are rarely assigned by Kuradel, Well at least they are for me.

Also Vex I tend to get alot of effigy drops from Tz-haars, maybe im just lucky there, 100 a task is pretty fast with a titan and not banking obby charms. I wouldnt skip them all the time even if i were trying to max out effigy/slay xp.

They don't drop charms or effigys, not great slay xp and I can make much better money at frosts. Not worth doing just for a few d boots lol

  11. I personally do 9 Maples and the rest coal seems to work out fairly well for me since i break even most of the time just off the coals/maples...And as far as raising your favor or not every day every week it doesn't matter you could let it drop to 0% and as long as you raise it too 100% right before you collect it will be as if your workers were at 100% all along...this also goes for collecting resources as well you could have it set at full maples half coal and decide to switch it to full coal and half fish and it would just retroact back to the time it started collecting.

You sure? I haven't looted my kingdom in about 3 months and I've been topping up approval and coffers once a week when I do pengs. Would be good to know I don't have to top up the approval until I actually decide to collect it. But I don't wanna risk it lol

  12. @Xensure: That is a really good post and I agree with you on most of it. If you put it the way you did I can understand where you're coming from, but try to see it from someone else's view aswell :P

The point that I feel strong about is the guidelines that are being set. For example, Zarfot had an exceptional efficiency rate. As stated before, noone has lived up to it to go beyond it or equal it. YET, those exp/hour rates are being used as a guideline for EVERYONE. I'm talking about human capabilities now, and seeing as I'm really pushing them for awhile now, I hope that you would consider my input aswell. Zarfot admitted he tried to play 16 hours ONCE and stated it was like hell. Why? because being so efficient (example: 80k mining exp in an hour) requires perfect focus, not to miss any game ticks. Don't forget he only played about 6 hours a day (sometimes even less). Now it's easy to say 'he has college so he wasn't able to do more hours', but that's not the real reason.

The real reason is that no one can keep up that pace for longer than a few hours a day. While, taking it a bit easier and be more relaxed about things like I am enables you to play alot longer a day. You might not like it, but in the end the person who plays alot longer per day gains the most exp, not matter how time efficient the other player is. Now you could say ''But Zarfot is ranked high on time left till all skills 200m!'' but to be objective, being efficient is only part of the reason why he's up there. The other reason is because he got luckier than anyone else concerning game updates, enabling him to reach some goals alot easier than others, not the mention that he used his yt subscribers to gain benefit aswell. There are alot of Zarfot idolizers and they get very jumpy very fast when someone isn't praising him, but I don't see how any of those people could disagree with these facts.

Either way, when figuring out the fastest way to 200m all skills like you said (the purpose of all those calculations you make), then you should also consider if your calculations are humanly viable. And, as said, the person who takes it a bit easier and does more relaxing things, enabling them to play alot longer, ends up with more exp at the end of the day, thus finishing the all skills 200m goal faster. Factors such as luck are not included when saying this though, but we can't control things such as luck. The part that bothered me is that there were about 5 pages of calculations spent on something that just isn't humanly viable (I speak from experience), hence I said, don't solve everything with math. These are real people that are on their way to all skills 200m, not machines. It's essential that you include the human capability side in your calcs, otherwise they turn obsolete and no longer related to the thread, but become pure time killing 'bickering' for people who enjoy calculating stuff out.

@Oscarr: that is unfortunate, but I didn't train with jadinko's, hunt pots or hunting brawlers so it is understandable that my record gets passed now.

I agree for the most part as its your opinion except for the part where it says that zarfot used his youtube subscribers, and don't say because of the dragonstone video because that would just be ignorant.

The one vid I saw by him that I thought had an alterior motive was his 'money making guide' on making raw summer pies, which just happen to be one of the best ways to 200m cook and very difficult to buy on ge.

But even if he did make that vid to make raw pies easier to get, it actually was a legit way to make money and prob helped some people out.

Nothing like all the youtubers that ask for donations, or 76ks, or divines for med price or w/e.

  13. I can use extremes but I'm so grateful Jagex did the right thing and banned them from wildy. I've seen the evolution of pking from wildys removal to bh craters to pvp and bh worlds and I've pked on and off throughout and the thing that has been gradually killing pking for me is how overpowered everything is now compared to 07. Godswords, claws, vesta/statius, korasi, chaotics have all made pking worse imo. Fights now are down to who gets a venge combo or a good spec first, a lot of the skill has gone since 07. Our max hits have gone up and up, and our defence and hp have stayed the same (Jagex is just now starting to do the right thing with damage soaking and hp boosting armour). If extremes/overloads were allowed in wildy, all these things that are overpowered would become even worse, chaotic mauls/ags specs/claws would be 1 hitting people all over the place. I'd be happier if korasi, claws and chaotic were banned too (especially korasi, cheapest spec weapon in rs) but extremes are better than nothing.

On another note, pkers have enough things to throw away money on to be succesful in wildy. 95 prayer, divines, 96 summoning, godswords/claws and so on, its unneccessary to add another 200m (or w/e it is now) money sink for extremes. If you're not a pker, just be glad this choice by jagex will keep the cost of herby down. If extremes were allowed in wildy herb would at least double in cost probably more.
