  1. Great, more capes to wear at the GE I guess? There's a cape for pretty much every combat style or any activity really, and there's a lot of different designs. Just seems like the cape slot is saturated enough already with anything you could possibly want. I'd like to see more boots, amulets, gloves, and rings.
  2. Drop Received: 1k air orbs Monster Killed: Ice strykewyrms Approx Kills to get: 59 Wearing Row?: [Y/N] Yes If so, did the ROW message go off when you got your drop?: The RoW activates its message every ice wyrm kill even if the drop is common, I think it's bugged. So, yes. The GE one might be useless but the misc teleport sure isn't. It takes you right near Ghrim, which is even better than the misc teleport scroll that comes from clues. Not to mention RoW is rechargeable and cheaper over time.
  3. Yeah, and someone COULD have a legitimate drop party in the wilderness. Someone COULD legitimately give you 400m for you giving them 200m. I really wish people would stop lending credence to "legit" forms of trust trading, because it does have an impact on the gullible kids who inevitably lose their bank because they got carried away and someone wasn't "legitly" trust trading with them. Then of course those same kids will go to the forums and make threads crying about getting scammed and how free trade was the worst thing ever, blah, blah, blah. Bottom line is if you ever have to put your faith into anonymous strangers on the net, especially when it's at your own expense and there's no repercussions for doing wrong, don't do it.
  4. I guess the general feeling is that Jagex needs to update skills to have a more direct impact to their original purposes. It's obvious Jagex originally intended many non combat skills, like smithing, fletching, and crafting, to tie into combat. This is highlighted in places like SC/Dungeoneering. However, Jagex made those tie-ins at a time where they were relevant, when there was a small population and not so many npc's around to fill the gap of better products, or even the same products from those skills. But now, monster hunting fills the roles of best money maker, and with things like effigies, it now trains other skills, often times better then they train themselves. Making rune armor and crafting black dragonhide just doesn't cut it anymore, those ideas are old and they've been worn thin. The new age is like herblore with extreme potions. Where you get a direct, distinct, and unique advantage from each skill that you can tie-in to combat. Like smthing, the ability to modify armors and make them better, while also being able to produce mediocre armor from scratch. That's a good ability and it's a good way to sell the skill to the combat crowd. Skills like runecrafting and agility can also impact armor and its performances. So what if "99 smithing" became a new standard amongst elite teams at GWD? I've played so many games that are like that, where multiple skills better you at combat, not just rare drops or ones that cost a fortune. Runescape, while striving to be unique, can take some pointers from other games. It's not like it hasn't already.
  5. My second favorite skill next to Slayer. The thing is though, that I wouldn't train it if It didn't have as good rewards as it does, or I didn't need to get them back with tokens if they're lost. I still think it could be improved where soloing is concerned, rare slayer drops, more resource dungeons, and more rewards like some chaotic armor. But it's still far more enjoyable then most other skills that just have asinine repetition, and the xps/hour are very good once you get into rushing. People just get too hung up on whether or not it's a mini game. Who cares? If you really want a chaotic weapon, suck it up and find a team.
  6. Agreed, great change. Not just for xfers, but vengeance-other too. It's equally as overpowered being able to circumvent the 30 second vengeance timer by having a squad around you giving vengeance rebounding 75% of damage back to your opponent every blow. And honestly, why care that it was nerfed outside the wilderness either? How many places do you walk around with an inventory of runes to cure-other/venge-other/heal-other people in single combat? If there are any, it's an extremely niche scenario. I agree lunar needs updating, but as the Chaos elemental hints, we're due for a lunar update and I believe 8-10 new spells so I'm pretty sure it's on the way.
  7. So basically the Nex standard is now ruby bolts with either void+acp+delector, or karil's/arma+unholy book, or void/karils/arma with ely/divine?
  8. I find it disturbing that people can be so naive and trusting of total strangers on the internet, while also being completely unaware of their surroundings despite several obvious indications as to what they are. Clan war portal lure for instance SMACKS you in the face telling you you're risking your items! There's a warning before going in (if you didn't disable it), and then there's that big box on your screen that says if you die your items will be lost! The portal itself says "Dangerous", while sitting next to a portal that says "Safe". These are the same kids you'll see on your local news who got kidnapped because the masked man with his unmarked van said there was candy and puppies inside. Yeah, yeah, yeah, "Distrust isn't healthy". Well neither is being bound and gagged and stuffed in a locker.
  9. 1) The general consensus is that Nex's defense resets after every phase. Statius Warhammer seems effective, but only until the next mage dies. From that perspective, and the fact that no form should really be lasting extremely long, leech prayers aren't so useful. You can expect a 10-15% defense drop, but never as drastic as 25%. That being said, your choices are essentially 20% Range (accuracy and damage), 20% Attack, and 23% Strength, as compared to 5% Range, 29% Attack, 32.9% Strength, and a 10% defense drop for the phases where you're ranging. Rigour improves your range damage output significantly - there's really no doubt about that. The question is whether it's worth giving up the additional strength (hence more frequent 500 hits), additional accuracy with melee, soul split, and the defense drop. I really think having one person leeching per team is a decent idea based on what we know right now. Turmoil is probably comparable to Rigour if you're focusing on melee. 2) IMO, Spectral is a waste. Magic defense has very little benefit besides shifting the target from you to someone else. If you're not going to use Divine, Elysian, or Deflector, your best choice is probably EEKS. After that, just use whatever you feel like. Unholy Book, Blessed Spirit Shield, Wooden Shield. 3) Again, no reason for Spectral really. Full Pernix is definitely better than Divine defensively. I don't know if Pernix body beats out Divine like Ancient believes, but it's definitely at least comparable (20% healing versus 30% damage reduction at the cost of prayer, but doesn't affect special attacks). Your best options, factoring Pernix, are probably Full Pernix + Divine/Elysian or Elite Void + Pernix Top + Deflector. Alright, thanks man. Guess I have my work cut out for me.
  10. The RoW update looks great, especially with the ability to determine when it's working or not. That will make choosing between berserk (i)/ferocious easier hopefully. That and the pirate quest are really the only things I'm looking forward to. Ele workshop 4 just seems like another puzzle quest that will give out scrub gear, bonus weekend I probably won't do anything, and the smithing update doesn't interest me unless it's a better way to get 80.
  11. Nah. I've had friends lend me Elysian shields/divines before, which are about as much as certain phats. Really don't have the heart to undercut someone who trusts me with all their hard work, and whom I know and respect a lot.
  12. Hey, been doing a ton of Nex lately and could use some clarifications: 1. Rigour/piety vs leeches/turm. I can get a rigour scroll in a day no sweat, however, having snuck on a few Nex teams beforehand using just eagle eye and comparing it against leeches before, I didn't note too big a difference. At least with leech defense seems the whole team enjoys the 25% drop in defense, which is pretty easy to get when keeping the prayer on all the time. Is rigour leaps and bounds above that? 2. Spec vs Ely vs deflector. I really can't stand conquest, played a game and it already felt sucked out of any real tactical ability. I've used Elysian, and it is better than a spectral in the area of saving a couple more brews. On the other hand, it's a difference of about 600m which I could do with putting into flips/investing and make money for the BEST shield, Divine. So efficiently, which would be best to stick with? 3. If I could get a hold of full pernix+spectral, would that be superior to Divine+elite void/Divine+elite void+arma top+deflector? Any help would be much appreciated.
  13. 'Ello, new to the Tip.it forum as a Registree but lurked around here awhile and have finally opted to join. I'm a regular on the RSOF, favorite forum being "Items". ;)
