  1. The only reason people care about this so much is because the targets were wealthy Brits and Americans. 90 people? More than that die every 10 seconds from starvation. Sure, this is a tragic event, but yet again, the media are blowing it way out of proportion. How big do you think the news would be if it had been peasant farmers that were shot? *Bets that India's tourism goes down 95%*
  2. Good luck with that one
  3. I'm sorry, but I call BS. If you really wanted help there is absolutely no way you would come to the conclusion that a runescape based off topic board is the best way of helping this girl. You'd either call the appropriate authorities or go to a suicide help forum, of which there are many.
  4. $22,000 for hacking 1 facebook? That's insane. Sorry, this guy deserved a fine but now his life is pretty much ruined, unless he can get $870,000,000 pretty soon.
  5. I've had 2 operations; one when I was 14 when I broke the base of my thumb and had to have a wire put in, one when I was 15 when I broke the same thumb again.
  6. That doesn't even make sense
  7. So what you're saying is that people shouldn't have the choice to change their own mindsets/put certain drugs into their body? I mean, this argument I can sort of understand for harder drugs (sorta), but for weed? No way. In moderation it is fine and I see no reasons other than stigma to keep it illegal.
  8. Nor ever will it be. Not even with transhumanism..? no Really?
  9. Look, the UK isn't perfect. Ginger isn't saying that it is. If you think that Ginger thinks the UK is perfect, then you obviously haven't read his posts. You're making a terrible mistake with that analogy. Why do you assume that it is the fault of the poor person that they are poor? For some, this is the case. But the vast majority of poor people are born poor, and the thing about poverty is that it is like a cycle. You've obviously never been poor (don't pretend like you have, because you clearly haven't. If you think that poverty is always the fault of the person, you're full of crap.) so I wouldn't expect you to understand. It's just - with wage slavery, having to pay for ridiculous healthcare bills you can't afford, it really is impossible for people in countries like the USA to escape it. Some will manage it, yes. They're the lucky ones. I'm just thankful I live in a country with a population sensible enough to have the NHS. That's ridiculous. You make it sound like no poor people have health insurance and everyone needs $300,000 heart bypasses. Pretty much if you have a full time job job you have health insurance. Only like 15% of people or something don't have some type of health insurance. Your healthcare system is a pile of [cabbage]. You social conservatives.. really, callous mother****ers.
  10. Exactly. I have no problem with creationism being taught in religious classes, where it belongs. All these extreme Christians - they play the NOMA card all the time. ALL THE TIME. "God doesn't need evidence because it is a metaphysical, not scientific claim" etc etc etc. If they can argue stuff like this, why can they not realise that creationism isn't scientific in any way, shape or form? It is a science class. Evolution is pretty much proven beyond any reasonable doubt (retroviral DNA, fossil record etc.) There is no way, NO WAY that creationism should be taught in science class. It isn't science.

  12. I like the pope, the pope smokes dope. Such a phrase is too cool to be untrue. The Pope is the most conservative religious figure on Earth and represents roughly 25% of the world's religious views. Try reading his statement again in light of this. Sorry, but I can just imagine the pope, after a long hard day of indoctrination, relaxing in a jacuzzi with 9 Colombian hookers and a fat [wagon] joint, with Only Built 4 Cuban Linx playing in the background. Sure, he may seem like an evil, anti-contraception former-nazi on the outside, but remember, that IS only on the outside. my entire post is steeped in sarcasm

  14. What? No, sorry. Just no. If you're in a science class, you will be taught evolution because it is pretty much proven. Sure, it is the "theory of evolution" but retroviral DNA is enough to make it ridiculous to deny it. I mean, I don't even know how it has got this far. There is literally a MASS of evidence for evolution. Evolution should be taught in science class along with gravity. Creationism.. I mean really? I have never, EVER, heard even one slightly compelling argument for it. I don't care if it causes conflict between parents and teachers. If you are in a science class you should be taught evolution because it is pretty much proven beyond any reasonable doubt. Creationism should be taught about in religious class. And remember, I'm not talking about cosmology/origin of life here, we're only discussing EVOLUTION.
  15. It's the "pull yourself up by your bootstrap" culture. I've spoken to countless people both irl and online who believe things like this. What these rich guys don't realise is that it is extremely hard to get out of poverty, especially when you have to pay for healthcare etc. If you don't have a decent education it's practically impossible to get a good job, and you can't get a decent education if you have to work 7 days a week to support your family. Basically the term "wage slavery" applies. And yes, some people will mooch off the system. It is inevitable. But that is the price you have to pay if you want people born into poverty to have a chance of having a good life. It's as if you were at a barbeque and everyone was starving, and one guy had all the food on his plate yet refused to give any of it away.
  16. Why? With interventionist foreign policy, things like Iraq can easily happen.
  17. If I read an article on the internet by some neocon idiot who thinks Iraq was justified, I should just discard it because it's on the internet? Yes. Anyone who thinks Iraq was justified is an idiot and a neocon jew. I mean it's not like the British thought the same thing. British government. In terms of the population, I think the majority were anti-invasion of Iraq, not sure. If not, it was close. And wtf @ "jew" I never said anything about jewish people.. So when the British government supports something that doesn't reflect on the people, but when the US government supports something that must mean the American people support it. Not at all. For the issues I'm talking about, the American people did support it. Plus, I said earlier I only dislike those certain fundamentalists. I dislike your government more. I'm not trying to say all American people are like this - but you DO have far more of them than any other western country.
  18. Oh and now it's been revealed that there were no WMDs, the vast majority of the people here are against it. Plus it isn't just Iraq - all the "pro-life" (ironically named pro-life, considering a lot of them are military nuts. Maybe they're only pro-life whilst you aren't alive. That'd make sense.,) anti-Universal health care, Reagan freaks are a lot of things we don't have in such great proportions. I'm not trying to make out Britain is an amazing place, far from it. But I would be lying if I said that we have the same percentages of neocons/fundamentalist Christians as you..
  19. I'm not saying it was from just ONE guy. If over the course of 5-7 years you noticed a certain mentality of the British people, then yes you could make a criticism. Plus, I pay attention to your politics, I watch your news channels, and I've spent about two months in various cities in the USA before.
  20. If I read an article on the internet by some neocon idiot who thinks Iraq was justified, I should just discard it because it's on the internet?
  21. No, but when the majority of Christians oppose gay marriage it isn't "ignorant" to point it out.. What's actually ignorant is to claim that they aren't "real" Christians.
  22. You're in the minority within Christianity. You can't claim that they aren't real Christians until you're in the majority.
  23. There are ignorant atheists yes.. Have you ever heard of the "no true scotsman" fallacy? These people believe these things because it says so in the Bible. They are in the majority.. so maybe it is *you* that isn't the real Christian, ever thought about that? And if the trends continue, you will be in the minority probably within our lifetime. Atheism = lack of belief in God Christian = believes in God + a crapload of other stuff and may or may not believe in other things depending on personal denomination/opinions etc.. People are ignorant because of religion, I doubt you would claim it to be the other way around. Christians oppressing gays/other groups is done because their religion tells them to believe the Bible and it clearly says in the Bible "To lie with another man is an abomination."
  24. I've been to the US a few times, and from my observations of a) your politics, B) the people I've met, c) the people I've talked to on the internet, d) American news channels, I have come to the conclusion that YES, America is pretty much as bad as everyone says. You have large amounts of extremist Christians/neoconservatives/general right wing d-bags etc. Combine that with interventionist foreign policy, a huge nuclear arsenal, and a chimp president, is it really that hard to see why the world generally dislikes you? I mean, we also have these things in the UK, but we aren't even in the same league as the USA. You don't even have Universal Health Care. I mean.. what the ****!?! Aren't you like the only western country that doesn't have it yet? Maybe if you weren't giving billions to rich wall street bankers/funding wars across the world you would actually be able to afford it. You have to question the intelligence of a nation where Sarah Palin can NEARLY become VP without knowing what the "Bush Doctrine" is..
  25. When Christians finally stop interfering with education/science/rights of certain people we will.
