  1. They didn't say it was 32-bit, they just said they wanted to make sure it worked with 32-bit so in terms of minimum RAM need it won't go over 2gb

     

     

    Runescape Reveals excite!

     

    Going for 1 huge or large update a month with smaller updates that tie to it themewise (ie reuse assests etc)

     

    Godwar Dungeon 2 - for this current godwar with new gear (ie new godswords, but maybe not swords) Concept art for Tuska and Seren

     

    Mining and Smithing rework - including everything be squished down for new top end.

     

    Sliske's game ending -"Sliske's countdown" 4 quests to finish the story line..

    Quest 1 is Nomad - try to drain all souls from underworld. Death, Icthlarin and all previously dead characters invovled.

    Quest 2 is Barrows Bros - reveal a barrows sister, how she fits into Sliske's plan. Can we break the curse and free them? Get close to Sliske

    Quest 3 - skipped til later in talk

    Quest 4 is the end game itself. Gods who have scored points will be brought to an end-game event. (Armadyl and Vorago) Gonna be some surprising participants as he bends the rules. Gonna have major divergence based on all prior choices in-game. Will be deleted scene way to see all possible routes.

    Will be a scoreboard so we can see how the score is going.

    All the major gods will have places in world to be talked to.

    Solo Boss 

    Concept of underwater boss - make armour/gear before you begin fight.

    Just one idea - not really decided exact details yet.

     

    Quest 3 of Sliskes countdown is Fate of the Gods 2

    Scene that was going to be in originally going to be in fotg is now becoming fotg2.

    Mah planning to build her own world as she's angry.

    Mahjaratt going to react to Mah trying to destroy Frenskae - they will be coming home.

    Zaros and Zamorak will face off.

     

    Quirky updates not being forgotten.

    Other quests in year will be quirky fun stories.

    Personal, character driven stories.

    Up number of quests via bottle quests.

    Bottle Quest will be labelled as such up front - built using as few new assets as possible.

    Won't be epic or long, will be chracter driven.

     

    Chronicle - nothing really new. Just that it's coming

    Tablet as well as pc.

     

    Raids 2

    Same concepts as before (without the Shaman)

    Fire elemental - ground falls away etc

    Air Elemental - mountain, clouds etc.

    Taken on feedback from first raids - make them more accessible, fewer obstacles. Talk about how solo, small teams and skillers can get invovled. Think they can do all these.

    Idea of skillers on back line are more key to fight than front line fighters.

     

    Invention.

    Much the same info again.

    Two halfs - making new machines and augment existing gear.

    Xp gained by using invention modded items.

    Concepts:

    Calling perk - calls something like Rapotr to aid you.

    Duplicator - 50:50 chance destroy or dupe item.

    Animated stuff added to gear to look unique showcased.

    3 Tech Trees at launch - Human (divination etc) Goblin (electric) Dwarf (steam powered)

    Batch 2 brings 2 more trees - Elves (crystals) Gnome (clockwork)

    Will be in dg

    You are guildmaster - hotspots to build machines in, hire 'staff' might be various big name quest unlock npcs (ie Ava)

     

    Power to players - new land mass. Continent or City all from player ideas.

    Ideas/Concepts:

    Kudos Island - archeology, live dinos

    Menaphos

    Underwater City

    All up to us on Runelabs.

    Later criteria on labs will be for quest, minigames etc to add to this land mass.

     

    Tell stories we know and love.

    Vampyre Finale - "Rivers of Blood"

    Vamps come to river Salve.

    5th Age.

    Confrontation with King Rolad.

    Into Castle Drakan properly.

     

    Theres a number of updates they are trying something new/special with that they are not revealing.

     

    15 years of Runescape.

    Documentary being filmed.

    In-game stuff planned.

    Emote to to represent something from each of 15 years.

    Classic will reopen.

     

    Quest about 2 wizards and big bad trying to bring in old/removed updates.

    Andrew and Paul Gower involved in making the quest.

    Nostalgic - call backs to things that never made it in game or got removed. Life runes, lizard men, tangle vine.

    Revisiting older quests like RFD did.

  2. They haven't really been reveal heavy so far.

     

    Combat was like half taken up by 'pvm so far'

    Talk of a few little things like the str change they are looking at.

    Talk of a new solo boss for 2016 - literally no details beyond this.

    Some super secret thing to be revealed in the 2016 session.

    Talk of where Raids will go next - concepts for a Airut shaman plus concepts for air and fire elemental titans (like yaka is water)

    Showed off Goebie volleyball - been in-game since raids launched but not found yet. From clip they showed seems to relate to hitting gongs after durzag dies.

     

    Invention was really a lot of what we already knew littered with some concept art.

    Ability to add perks/augments to weps, armour n tools that are t70+

    Ability to make machines that do stuff.

    Resources from disassembling.

    Perked stuff levels up with you.

    Aim to make more diversity (ie this sword has perks for dragons, this mace has perks for wyverns etc)

    Jan 2016 launch for 1-99

    Guild that you build and are master of & 100-120 comine later in 2016

    Some stuff on the different xp curve for elites - 200m would be equiv of lvl 150. Level 70(ish) will be half way xp wise instead of 92.

     

    NXT was just ooo look shiny, technical chatter. Still no info on when to expect it.

I'm curious do you actually think it is a bad idea in terms of the balance of combat classes as a whole - ie around issues of it being unfair meleers have to train twice as much for the same results as mage and ranged get etc. or does your view it is bad centre entirely on the fact it would be detrimental to you personally with your current stats?

     

    After all this kind of change is inevitably going to negatively impact some players, but then with forewarning people have time to prepare and the end result does have boons for combat in the short term and oepns up options going forward.

     

    Personally I'm of the view when an update is good for the game as a whole it's a good idea, even if it does have negative results to my personal position in the game. After all if we never made updates with a negative impact in some way we would never move on. 

  4. They didn't really go into details but one would assume so.

     

    They alluded to the often popular suggestion and that suggestion has always been that Attack, Ranged and Magic are your class specific accuracy skills as you learn to use that weapon type. Whilst Strength moves to join Defence (and prayer summ etc) as a universal combat skill. Which would of course mean all combat styles need to be able to train it.

     

    I'd hope that will mean 6 xp options for each class

    Strength

    Defence

    Accuracy & Strength

    Accuracy & Defence

    Balanced

     

    But based on how melee is atm we may just see accuracy, str, defence, balanced

  5. - Make holy overloads if you never want to make anything else. It multiples your overloads by 1.5 (4 dose pot into 6 dose holy)

    - Make supreme if you want more bang for your gp

    - make supreme salves if you like convince :)

     

    I'd concur with this.

     

    The downfall of a lot of the otherwise useful combos is they are all overload based and normal overload + other effect just isn't really worth it vs Supreme overload and just taking your prayer/fire w/e separate.

     

    In terms of ease of use supreme salves definitely are a nice combo, though all those effects in 1 go are a bit overkill in most places, decent choice for facing new bosses in quests or pvm though when your going in blind as it covers all your bases. They can be quite decent for KBD thanks to combo of fire and poison protect and I definitely found them a big help in Araxxor as they help keep prayer up taking some focus off potting, plus the anti-poison in there again takes focus away from potting.

  6. Solomon will introduce a Revenant Outfit with a floating animation that sweeps you off your feet.

     

    I was expecting Lunar Mage or similar, but I believe this is the "Magic" equivalent override set I've been waiting for  |^_^| 

     

    Tbf if it combines floating and translucent ghosty goodness in a visually appealing way it'll be awesomesauce as a package.

    The real fun bit is the long standing bug (I've seen enough reports of it to believe its a real bug at this point) where one random easy to get journal just never ever drops for you.

     

    Cause I mean who doesn't get a drop of Marm n Thok 4 doing 1-120 dg with a fair bit of solo PLUS investing a good few hours into purposefully hunting for that journal... *eye twitches*

     

    Just saying, with RNG it is possible to never get a drop, as easy as the droprate might be. In fact you can calculate how many people probably won't have had such a drop after so many times trying. The more people try to get such a drop the higher probability that someone doesn't have gotten such a drop. So it might just be really really bad luck :|

     

     

    Usually I would agree but the sheer number of reports of this happening to people, specifically on the fairly easily obtainable journals that appears in lower floors, set against lots of time invested in dg and straight up hunting that journal screams bug to me.

     

    By all means we could all be wrong and we've just had sucky luck to the max, but to me the volume of decent believable reports of this occurring is too high to fit with the statistical probability of it being sheer bad luck on rng.

  8. From what I can see of general reports etc it seems to be a bug that just effects journals on the whole, but for each player it will only ever happen on one specific journal (At least not seen anyone report issues of 2 journals being hit)

     

    All I can assume is there is some issue in the code that checks if you've got a journal before creating the drop that is making drop calcs think you've got it when the rest of the game doesn't.

  10. I'd concur with Arceus outlook on this one.

     

    OSRS got like 10* more interest and posts made about it at launch and look how dead it's sub-forum is compared to the main game ones.

    The amount of interest shown in Darkscape on this forum so far a subforum would be like a hollow void of nothing.

  11. Make the best pouch you can make for your level with each charm, there are very few pita exceptions to skip such as pouches that use other charms (void, abyss etc) or have overly expensive/awkward seconds for the xp (eg wolpertingers)

     

    Oh and golds are pretty much worthless, they give really bad xp.

  12. I feel like those coin things will be fixed before I really get time to even try it and since I'm not maxed and have like no legendary gear even the easy missions you mission can be rather taxing/time consuming still.

     

    In good news though my Warlock is now clear off all the Crota and Wolves story missions and is now a Stormcaller

  13. From the way they talked it seemed as though it was very much expansion of the existing in regards to the new arrivals and I'd expect it will mean some warrior guild sprucing up.

     

    I'm curious where they'll place the ranged defenders if magic go to MTA. Only ranged centric location with anything approaching a game would be the Ranged guild, but my god what an overhaul that'd need for that addition.

     

    Also particularly curious on how they'd form a ranged defender - melee being a dagger-ish thing makes sense. Magic you can kinda do what the heck you like cause magic - can pretty much just be special orbs/books that do both things. But ranged? Curious to see what sort of blocking/parrying AND damaging thing you can come up with. A shield x-bow maybe?

  14. They listed a bunch of stuff, the main points were keeping most of what they have now (parrying chance etc) but ramped up a little along with 3% (might've been 6, I can't quite recall was deffo a low 3 multiple thou) accuracy boost and make them work for both dw AND shield abilities.

     

    They said the aim was that they would have a nice niche use in slayer etc. rather than being like pvm worthy.

     

    It sounded like it had good potential, particularly for harder to beat trash mobs (ie like airut if your a bit low/dont have t90s)

  15. So the latest stream dropped some rather big bombs:

     

    Defender revamp phase 1 - melee defenders is due out next month.

    It will include adding t70 80 and 90 defenders.

     

    There is a phase 2 to add magic and ranged defenders - mage training arena was mentioned related to magic ones but needs some revamp to accompany that.

  16. The loot is deffo improved for year 2 - I'm finding green gear all over the shop in the crota missions that outstrips the blue gear I've already got.

     

    Also so glad i got the level boost from legendary, jumped my titan right to lvl 25 with a full set of rare gear to boot. Now I only need worry about noob grinding on my hunter.

     

    I got as far as what I assume is one of the last crota missions where u destroy his soul in tht crystal thing today. Died to a thrall when crystal was near dead - was like my health is low but its so close to dead ill keep shooting. Bad choice. Will go back to it later this week, just wanted to do a lil bit 2nite.

    I've been home for like 15 mins and my playstation is still on 'preparing to download update' -.-

    On a similar note: 17gb worth of updates yesterday. That sure was a fun thing.

     

     

    That was the one we all had to download at the weekend to add the Taken King content to the game.

  18. I kinda felt like they made the boss hard in this one in a very cheap way.

     

    Like Vanstrom etc were hard because they were hard, with the blisterwood/flail/silver/w/e requirement.

     

     

    Drakan compared to Vanstrom would be easy in equal circumstance the difficultly was purely from extreme restrictions on gear, which felt a bit cheap imo

     

    Also for anyone who thought they couldn't live up to Ana's legacy - don't worry they killed basically every character in the entire series because who needs characters for the finale?

     

    At least the sunspear sword thingy is kinda useful I guess and Drakan Wings look good.
