  1. Could also be looking at money in the wrong way. Not everyone has to work for it, time could be used buying spins and playing without work occupying your time. There must be trust fund kids or recipients of hefty inheritances among the top rank players. With the amount of time that's spent playing runescape, I'd suggest a lot of them have money that they don't work for. How else would they pay for computers, internet, food etc? For some this could be welfare cheques/the dole, but what about elder players who have retired? They could have earned more money than they'll ever need, or be in receipt of a bulky pension that not only covers living costs, but provides them with a liquid income they may be too infirm to use as they please. Also take into account those who work on the computer, or from home, who can shape their shift pattern around their every day lives. Runescape and earning/having money are not mutually exclusive.
  2. Ashley still regularly plays I think, she was e-dating someone in a clan I was in last year, can't remember her name or which clan though.
  3. Regarding the Suomi maths. It would be more accurate if you knew the amount of charms he has right now. Then you could find a biting point of when he should stop doing black demons and switch to waterfiends. Considering that summoning exp is capped to 1.1 on bxp weekend, it also has no benefit over simply training summoning with the RaF bonus.
  4. I love Zarfot. In his position I'd be severely annoyed by updates though. I remember there being an interview with Syzygy, one of the maxed f2pers. He said the reason he never became a member is because every update affects his previous achievements. To bring the SoF discussion back on to the topic. I think it may have an affect on people who want to max out, buying remaining exp with spins. The idea of going for all 200ms via this method doesn't seem feasible though. The hours involved are still astronomical, so only those capable of the upper levels of grinding would be able to stay motivated for it enough.
  5. Quick shattered heart skills should be good too.
  6. The Snellman brother's were taken to court in California, I cannot remember the reasons behind it though.
  7. Can you still get divines and large exp lamps with this? Logdotzip's info(@85rc), it's 6,370 rc exp/$, or 11,763 overall exp/$ EraserGaming's info (@92rc), it's 8,930 rc exp/$ Omustardo's info (@99rc), it's 9,462 rc exp or $16,774 overall exp/$ (The above figures were bought with USD, or were worked out with that figure in mind) I just looked at the way lamps work. Level 85 = 57% reward of 99, Level 92 = 77% reward of 99. This mean's Eraser gaming and Logdotzip got 11,612 and 11,139 rc exp/$ respectively. Time to find out the cheapest currency to buy it with... 1) 15.99 Swiss francs = 17.68$ 2) 100 Danish Krone = 17.85$ 3) 120 Swedish Krona = 18.16$ 4) Mexico = 240Pesos = 18.78$ 5) 110 Norwegian Krone = 19.36$ 6) 20usd = 20$ 7) AUD 20$ = 20.73$ 8) Rest of Europe 16E = 21.31$ 9) UK £14 = 22.44$ 10) If you're from Cuba/Zimbabwe you can't do it at all... So using Omar's figures, but with Swiss franks, that's just shy of 17.5k USD (equivalent) to get from exactly 99 to 200m in a stat. This is at ~800k exp/hour which would still take 233 hours of opening squeal of fortune rewards. Before you even take into account the bonus spins you win, that's 74,000 spins. What do you reckon the chance of getting dragon claws, or divines, or bandos are? Fancy your chances at being above 1in 74k spins?
  8. I personally set it to the hotkeys. It's good for bossing and PvM, but bringing my inventory up quickly is useful in every situation.
  9. Is that to be included in your 1b agility exp goal?
  10. Probably this is one of the best mouses? http://www.logitech.com/en-roeu/gaming/mice-keyboard-combos/devices/optical-gaming-mouse-g400 That's the mouse I'm going to use to get 200m all skills. I have the scroll wheel button assigned to my inventory, then the two on the side as prayers and magics.
  11. Drawing the line between physically and mentally being able to do it is pretty tough in my books. I generally could not sit still for that long without aching. I know SUOMI goes for runs or whatnot, and there's always Blocks' training methods, but sunlight is a massive factor in my well being. As are seeing beautiful sights, going on holiday with the people I love, finding the people I love and spending time with them. I'd go crazy. I'm not an advocate of e-dating, but if my entire life was on the internet, then yeh, i guess it makes sense. I've always had good friendships on this game, but it's not enough for me. Whilst I enjoy the time spent on teamspeak etc, I enjoy seeing my friends in person 10 times more. I pondered once or twice if I'd play this game had I found out about it as a pensioner, it'd fit into my much more docile style of living, but I could imagine being massively put off by the average age of RuneScape players; coupled with the anonymity the internet provides, it makes for thoroughly annoying people, a lot of the time. I just couldn't see myself throwing away these few years of my life, solely for the enjoyment an online game provides. Dragonseance and the others who are managing their playing "careers" alongside their studies are admirable in my eyes, but how do you find the right sort of balance? When I graduate, and want to find a job, they won't just be looking at my degree title or the place I've got it from, they'll be looking at the man I've become. In my eyes, that's shaped by the extra curricular activities I do and the social skills I've developed. I feel like an expletive of some sort now, because I really don't intend to offend people. I'm a firm believer of "each to their own" and anyone who's put in that amount of playtime will have thought about it countless times in their heads, not to mention been told about other people's views over and over again (no doubt people more important to them than myself). To somewhat summarise, I see no problems with playing RuneScape as a pass time, I just couldn't see how to fit in important aspects of your life alongside it while playing for the all 200ms endgame. I'd love to see blogs/diaries/schedules of the people who aim for it though, to enlighten me.
  12. I wouldn't be. I'd bank stand the hell out of things, afk as much as possible. Try and get people to take my internet down so I could finally log out from this hell hole. I seriously could not manage the play time that the top players do, even if I did have the opportunity.
  13. That or the buying/selling at the taverley obelisk.
  14. Dragonstones are apparently 660k/hour. That's 4800 of them cut. Over the space of 10 hours, using the average bxp multiplier, that's just over 12mil exp in crafting. If they were bought and sold at their current mid price (which I know they most likely weren't) that would be 240m over the space of the first 10 hours. 20gp/exp on bxp weekend.
  15. I like the thought of rather than it being about best methods to train 1 skill, it's about methods that benefit your overall goal more too. Like the whole crawlers vs black demons vs waterfiends vs monkeys etc.
  16. With your stats you needn't worry about any complicated methods for killing the bosses, just brute force should be fine.
  17. A nice incentive is to do c2 fishing in conjunction with dungeoneering. When you've done all your main floors, instead of c1ing it quickly, forbid yourself from completing the floors unless you've fished in them. Means you kill the boss etc, but it's a nice way to add intervals to your goal.
  18. Dragonseance has gained 6 ranks in the last month. He is now rank 16. So he needs to gain 15 more to get rank one. Based on these figures, In 2.5 months Dragonseance will be rank 1 and the most likely candidate to get 200m all skills first. S_U__O__M_I on the other hand has become stagnant, and has not gained a rank in over 4 months!!!! inb4 it's taken seriously.
  19. Don't so much mean that fun should be counted towards efficiency, but good utilisation of time should. Time where you otherwise would have been gaining 0 xp is efficiently spent at ivy instead.
  20. I disagree, just because you can't put exact numbers on things like fun and effort, doesn't mean it's not possible to discuss them. Quantifiable efficiency rates are clearly not the only form of efficiency accepted.
  21. Hedgehog has the best definition of efficiency that I've read. My 10cents is that the term efficient is almost solely used as a comparative adjective. i.e. "A is more efficient than B." If there is only one method of training, and no variation in xp rates, there's nothing to discuss. This is why I'd say that cutting ivy is somewhat efficient. If you think about it on a timeline, and you split it into free time, occupied time, sleep etc. - In your free time, you do arctic pines, you get the highest rates of exp you possibly can, you maximise efficiency. - In your occupied time, you are occupied (obvious statement is obvious). Whether it be as a result of employment, education, or just a movie/tv show you want to watch. In terms of RuneScape, you maximise your efficiency by choosing the best activity that fits in with your schedule. It's like saying someone is being inefficient for not catching draconic Jadinkos when they're level 10 hunter. They can't catch them, because things prevent them from doing so. For the level 10 hunter, it's their hunting experience, for the college student/employee/film buff, they're being as efficient as they possibly can. - Whilst you sleep, leave offers in for merches meaning you have more money when you wake up, and can train using more expensive methods. Welcome to efficiency 101.
  22. Also, how precise is the timer regarding bxp starting. If floors are usually 15mins, am I right in thinking you have to be able to predict the start to within about 40 minutes for it to be more efficient to wait rather than finishing the floor?
  23. Shame, I liked watching his progress. He had an interesting way of doing things.
