No one's going to use it.... The only people really sticking out the event were the dedicated high-level types, and those will just use the specific armour of the attack type, instead of something that's all around weaker. No one's going to bring this armour pking, either - with worse stats then our normal armour, it'll probably just be completely dead content. I feel very sorry for anyone who already wasted 10k Reknown on it (luckily I only bought the Tier 1 stuff). I do hear that the gloves/boots/cape might still have good bonuses in F2P compared to our other gear. I guess we'll see. I probably will still do the event, if only because it finally offers decent skilling exp rates, and the exp lamps are quite handy :P

Time for another update since i've been levelling a lot :P 91 Smithing: 105 Dungeoneering: 106 Dungeoneering: Got 104 - 106 Dungeoneering in the space of a week, and 105-106 in the space of 2 Days (and still fit in Bol) so I think I'll be taking a long break from Dungeoneering for now. I'll still probably do a run here and there, but won't be seriously training it, I'm pretty burnt out on it. Decided to get 106 just because I really wanted 1580 Total Level, lol. Feels really good to be out of the 1570's, after 2+months stuck there. 34 Levels To Go! I think I'll get back to work on my Cooking & Firemaking goals, getting them up to 100m and 50m experience respectively, and am also going to try for 1 more Smithing level, just to get me to 92 (halfway). After that is all finished up, I might take a crack at getting that last mining level (assuming they've fixed the action bar by then). After that is finished... for just about the first time ever, I don't have any other pending goals :o Not sure what i'll be training afterwards.

Is Runescape dying? As some one who has played the better part of the last 3 and a half years almost exclusively F2P, I can definitely say there's a downward trend. It all began with the return of Free Trade, and the massive Horde of bots that followed. What's the point of skilling in F2P, if there's 15+ bots (and no that number is not an exaggeration) at all the best resource spots ruining the Exp and Gp/hr? Many updates particularly in the last few years have been especially damaging to F2P. It would probably have to start with the removal of the F2P Highscores, essentially taking away all competition from the F2P game, and instilling this idea that "If you're not paying, your accomplishments don't matter/exist". Eoc also was not well received by a large portion of the F2P Population (If you think some parts of Eoc were bad in member's, especially at release, imagine what it was like in F2P!) causing a large portion of the Older Players, as well as the majority of the F2P Pking community to leave. As well, Eoc is poorly explained to new players, and many do not understand it, and quit. Solomon's and Squeal Of Fortune weren't particularly well received either, although I don't think an overly large number of F2Pers quit due to that. Even Rs3, with its many changes to the game, has caused many players to move on from the game, and leave. As well, most new players don't seem to be able to grasp the concept of the game when they start. I'm not sure when exactly it happened, but starting off in F2P went from being very simple and intuitive, to complicated and convoluted. Many, many new players cannot seem to grasp the basics of the game, and it has become exceedingly rare to see new players persist in playing past the first few days. I'm not saying it never happens, but judging from what I've seen (and I used to skill in the starting areas a lot) RuneScape has gone from a 75% return rate to something that's probably below 25%. Now I'm sure all this could be fixed with a much more clear, simpler, proper explanation, but sadly it hasn't been. As well, by turning F2P from its own, smaller game into merely a demo, they have managed to instill in their players a "Pay-to-play or Don't Play" mentality. It used to be that when some one's P2P ran out, and they were unable to afford / didn't want to buy it again, they would play in F2P for several weeks, or even months, and then eventually buy P2P once more. Nowadays, when some one's P2P runs out, almost all players quit outright until they can buy it once more. Their periods of absence from the game usually stretch for longer and longer each time, and many do not return, save for the dedicated. It used to be extremely common to see high to mid-level players playing in F2P for weeks on end, and now I can't even remember the last time I saw a high-level P2Per in F2P for more then a few hours at most. This is an extremely bad, group mentality, and it is causing the game to lose players in general. Bots, adbots, beggars, poorly executed updates, lack of content, constant P2P/Microtransaction advertisements, game nerfs, glitches, all of these things have contributed to the decline of the Free To Play game. Now, is the game dying? No, I wouldn't go quite that far. Is it on a rapid decline? Yes. Jagex, to their credit, definitely seem to have noticed this fact, and seem to be trying to revive the F2P game as best they can (new content, etc...) but the act of successfully promoting their Paid version of the game without knocking their Free version of the game is a juggling act that Jagex lost the hang of some time ago. All players start off in the Free Game. WIthout a strong, positive Free Game, what incentive is there for new players to continue playing or go a step further and break out their wallets? Personally, I'm interested in seeing what they will do to save the free game. They seem to know that without the free game, Runescape doesn't really have any distinction from the many other Mmorpg's out there and are trying their best to save it, and save Runescape in general. Personally, I really hope the succeed, as I would very much like to still be able to play, should I wish, five years from now. Is Runescape Dying? No. Is it starting to? Yes.....

Try flipping Sof Rares (Squeal Of Fortune Rares) They're all below 25m and flip quite easily, although you might want to stay away from the dreaded fish mask. After 100m or so, you can try flipping the lower end rares (Edibles, Lowers, etc) and see if it works for you :P

Made some progress this week, so time to update 86m Cooking Experience: 40m Firemaking Experience: 88 Smithing: 89 Smithing: 90 Smithing: Strange RS3 Glitch #1: Random Superheating Animation: Decided that until the Hold TO Drop function of the action bar is fixed, i'll wait to train Mining (no sense putting in extra effort when I can just wait until its fixed, after all). It's actually been really, really nice to be free from Mining for awhile, and be able to focus on other things. Stuck down in those mines for the past three months, the game had really begun to lose its fun for me. I hope it isn't too hard to return and get that last level. Been spending a lot of time Superheating and working on Smithing, since the profits are so good. The animated superheating thing is what I made for a friend who didn't know how to Superheat efficiently. The RS3 glitch was in Html5 Beta, when randomly the majority of the ocean disappeared from my game, and never rendered back in. Planning on keeping going with the Superheating, at least until profits subside, and throw in a little Fming when I get a chance.

98 Mining: Haven't been able to get in much mining, because action bar is so glitchy and tempermental, but was able to manage this :P Hoping to get 99 next week, but it wholly depends on whether or not the bar is fixed by then or not. Mostly been doing Firemaking and Cooking while I wait. Also got a new computer (as you might be able to tell from screenshot :P) and really enjoying playing RuneScape in all max graphics settings. I tried Html5 as well, and it ran just as smoothly, but unfortunately the chat system isn't fully functioning, so I can't play on Html5 instead of Java. Hehe thanks, I didn't quite make 99 due to a limited amount of play time =p And I would be losing millions on lobsters right now. I bought all my lobsters wayy before eoc, when raws usually went for about 180 and cooked for 200. Bought all my raws for 150 when they bottomed out. Not sure how much loss exactly, as I'm waiting till they rise more then they are now to sell. Thanks :)

We don't use these forums anymore, so haven't bothered posting about it. The list has been upgraded to the full-on F2P Highscores, and it is updated constantly. You need to have Google Chrome to view the F2P Highscores, though. The highscores work somewhat in Firefox, and are a lost cause in IE.

Ever since we F2Pers got our own full-on forums, pretty much been neglecting Tif, but met some one in game who had seen this blog and said it inspired them, so figured the least I can do is update this :P 96 Mining: 97 Mining: 80m Cooking Experience: Still ironing out the last few mining levels, hoping to get 99 before Rs3 hits. Also been doing a fair amount of cook. When i get 99 Mining, my goals are 110 Dungeoneering, 50m Firemaking Exp and 100m Cooking Exp before moving onto the next skill (which will be either Smithing or Prayer). Hehe :) Oooh thanks =) I just buy big bones & bury them when the mood strikes. Not much else you can do in F2P. Thanks, you too :)

There are various ways, we keep track of players who break the rules, and always have done so. I will not go into specifics, but Omke has always been very forthcoming and open about how he plays/played the game, and has never denied it. For both of them, there has been enormous amounts of evidence regarding the rule breaking, which we investigated very thoroughly. Once again, I won't go into specifics lest people breaking the rules read this and try and use it to their advantage, but it can be said beyond a doubt they committed the offences they are accused of (will not say specifically which offences for each, out of respect to their privacy). Hopefully this helped clear things up.

I'm afraid I have to agree with most of the negative feedback regarding this update. Auto-muting in public chat, which anyone can see, yes. In Friends Chats, which are semi-public (usually anyone can join or enter), okay. Clan chats, for which people must be invited into to join, no. While I personally do not, and do not allow offensive language in my clan chat, many do, and that is their right. If they don't like it, the higher-ranking players take action, or even the leader. In private messages? God no. That stuff is private for a reason. You're talking to your friends, and only that specific person can see it. While I don't use profanity, its private messaging. Private for a reason. While I 100% support auto-muting across all chats if people advert illegal sites, botting, or serious rule-breaking, saying a cuss word and getting a mute is just ridiculous. Especially if there's little to no explanation as to why you were muted offered. The chat system was already too strict, randomly putting stars in messages of people with filter off if they say a long sentence with commas in it, and now this... I agree, most people are making this out into a bigger deal then it is, but it is pretty unreasonable on their part. All its going to do is drive people away from the game into other ways of communicating with each other (messengers, skype, etc).

DIdn't have internet for awhile due to construction on my apartment, but I'm back, so I guess it's time for a status update :) 104 Dungeoneering: 95 Mining: 88 Prayer: Been working on various skills, currently trying to level Mining, and get my Cooking EXP up to 80m. Hoping to get 99 Mining by the end of June, after which I'll probably do a lot of Dungeoneering, get my Smithing & Prayer up to 90, my Cooking EXP up to 100m, and then start on my next 99 (not sure which one at this point). Its a glitch, I see it almost everyday - sometimes the Exp dropdowns have been as much as 280m. Don't know why it happens, but it is very common.
