  1. Yeah I really don't understand the problem with Jagex helping out Pures? I mean, sure giving people access to Rollbacks is a little dangerous, but it seems necessary to keep a significant portion of players happy.
  2. The fact the Sixth Age Quest is 50% compared to the next in line in a series being 20% is so frustrating and sad. One day I better get some ends to these storylines...
  3. Assembled boots and feathers will remain as prizes after these dates. That's in the newpost. I'll say that feathers will turn into magic notepaper, agility is now loseless in time to 200m. I am aware they will remain. That is why I asking about the amount coming into the game in the next 3 days. Clearly there is enough to ruin the skill. I have no idea what you are talking about with magic notepaper though.
  4. So this update pretty much ruined the skill? ...
  5. Is there enough feathers coming into the game for that?
  6. Paperbag has changed his name! Dat Bag. Gratz Roger on 200M Smithing! Anyone know what is training next?
  7. For a second I thought you were saying it was getting delayed again.
  8. Yeah, pretty much lost faith in these polls. I can always tell which option is getting picked before I see the results. We can see goodbye to anything unique or desperately needed but not epic (e.g. jewellery rework).
  9. Not all players use the same methods though, do your algorithms allow for that or are you making the assumption that everyone uses the same method. Plus it would still be useful to know the least number of hours it takes for said person to get 200m. You say it would be useful to know the least number of hours, then you double post criticizing the guy who is using top methods as opposed to Gemeos' realistic methods. What? You cannot have it both ways. Obviously no calculator is perfect but Gemeos' calculator is fairly accurate, and therefore is a good base for comparing times to max. It is pretty ridiculous to expect to make a different calculator every individual high-level player.
  10. Does anyone have an updated spreadsheet for slaying most efficiently? Is this old one https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ar1NcJ0ODCmRdDZ6RXI2R1pVSmNFeG9jbUhDMFhPVkE#gid=0 still any good?
  11. I really hope its not afk agility, or if it is that it won't be the highest xp/hr. But it will probably the agilityspan everyone has been expecting. Best case scenario would be its afk but you have the ability to train faster if you are not afk, but thats unlikely to happen.
  12. The elf city skills vote seems pretty obvious to me, as in I can tell which skills are going to get voted. "OHHH agility!?! Maybe it will be 150K/hr afk, best vote for it" "Prayer!? Yes, finally they will make a method I can still get amazing xp/hr without losing any money!"
  13. Wow never saw these before...they actually look stunning. O_O Such eyecandy! I really hope these, or something as beautiful as these, gets implemented into the game! Either as 99 or 120 capes, they both have pros and cons for me.
  14. I don't have any problem with the metagame changing. Or I should say with you wanting the metagame to change. That has been my whole point, capping XP at 13M is completely different from changing the metagame. Don't want 120 capes? Perfectly fine with me. In fact, you could lobby to remove all milestone capes and I wouldn't argue against you even though I disagree, because I see how that goes against your style of play. I am shocked you don't understand how there is a difference between completely destroying one side of the game (with XP caps, my style of gameplay is completely done), and changing the focus of the game so there is less of an emphasis on said side. Also, there is a big difference between the devaluing of XP and removing the XP. I am pretty sure everybody playing who cares about efficiency knows future updates will come that will make their older methods obsolete. That is not the point at all. First of all, just trying to maximize your experience per hour is legitimately fun for some people (this is something I don't think everybody understands). Secondly, even if they do care just about ranks, they are already ahead using the old method...you can't just wait around for new methods or you will never gain any xp. Your example of removing the flower game is equally flawed. The XP cap you are suggesting is like keeping the flower game around, but lowering the gp limit to 10M because you are DIY player and having gp is not the metagame you like. Or even when they removed the flower game, they somehow removed all the money anyone had ever earned from it. In general to this topic: People generally hate these efficiency versus inefficiency arguments, because as stated earlier (I forget by who) they tend to boil down to "This is best way to play the game" versus "No, this is the best way to play the game." My entire argument has been based on that I want everyone to be able to enjoy the parts of the game they like, because that is part of what makes Runescape so great and diverse. However, I think capping XP at 13M would remove a style of gameplay that the majority love. People like to hate the majority, and so anytime efficiency is brought up I get nervous. Some people like to hold others to their standards...hence the xp guys saying "XPW!" to the questers and that ruins it for the rest of us who honestly enjoy this style of gameplay.
  15. Stating a subjective statement on your opinion, then stating it can't be debated. That seems a little off... I think what you mean to say is, that for you playing without worrying about gathering xp is what you find fun. See for me, it is not that way. I like to do "inefficient" stuff sometimes too, like quests or events with my clan etc. But I also really enjoy trying to be as efficient as possible with time generally speaking, and getting good xp rates as I train my skills. I have lots of respect for you as a player that plays the game in your own way. I don't have respect for you trying to say that is the only way though.
  16. That FAQ disappointed me, some of the cool stuff they could have done with these caps aren't being considered at all. I was really hoping for some sweet 120 cape emotes.... :(
  17. No, just no. Because it is way too late. That is like me saying, I think they should take away all minigames, quests, comp cape, lore because it isn't efficient. Only worse because XP is accumulative, and those are just done once (except minigames). I don't think you understand is completely different because you are literally erasing what I have already accomplished. If for example, nobody was higher than 50M but Jagex had told us the cap was 200M, then you wanting them to lower the cap wouldn't be selfish. But seeing as tens of thousands of players are already way above suggested caps, that is selfish. It is not advocating for a different style of gameplay, that would be wanting updates away from gaining xp, not deleting all gained xp. ??? So the only point of the game is to gain xp? Well in that case, let me point you to a relevant game. When you hit the cap there, you gain 1 xp. That way, you'll be busy for a while more. Meanwhile, I'll be trying my hand at some actual gameplay. It is not the only point of the game, but it is a big part of the game for many. And yes, if you break it down, the basics are the same as that cookie game (which I might say, I know tons of people who loved it and played it). Runescape is just more developed than that game, so there is more content and more to do. There are many more reasons than that (for example, many people who play for xp enjoy pushing themselves to try and get the fastest xp rates possible and experiment different methods) but I won't get into them all.
  18. They are arbitrary, but that doesn't mean you change them any which way you want. I have put a lot of effort into getting my skills to higher amounts of XP, if they all got capped at a low amount such as 13M I would extremely unimpressed. I don't see how you can't see that limit the gameplay of a very large majority of the players is selfish. I understand you want to the game to go certain directions, but is ruining the game for others the way to accomplish that? Basically, yeah you could pick any number of XP as the cap. The cap itself is a goal, but its more about accumulating the XP and fighting ranks against other people. If the cap got raised to 2B it would be kinda ridiculous, but it wouldn't hinder my style of play. Capping the xp very low would essentially cause me to either quit or drastically lessen my playtime.
  19. It's not a matter of selfishness as it is a matter of the very nature of the game. I am a member of the game, and I have a particular direction or type of game I'd like to see, so I am advocating for that, and that's that. There's nothing hypocritical or selfish about that. And no. This style wasn't entirely player driven. There were plenty of changes in the metagame and many things that Jagex did that directly put pressure onto players to go into this direction, such as the various capes, broadcast messages, bonus weekends, Squeal of Fortune, profileration of XP, and so on. And yes, some people enjoy that sort of gameplay because that's the only sort of RS they know, but so what? Under a different sort of RS, they'd enjoy different things. That is fair enough, I don't mind you advocating your point. I still think capping skills at 13M is selfish, but generating an atmosphere and updates built towards less experience oriented game play is fine with me. I think everyone should have the opportunity to play the part of the game they like, part of why I like Runescape so much. I agree that they have definitely catered updates for that style of gameplay, I never meant to argue that. I would say they made those updates because they new they would be successful (well stuff like skillcapes...SOF is a different matter) since that is what players want. I guess it is kind of a circle which both sides contributing, but I would say it started with the players. I was mainly responding to the idea of a much lower XP cap, not that entire opposite style of gameplay. Like I said, I want everyone to enjoy the parts of them game they love.
  20. I don't forget about Jdel at all, in fact he was the guy I was always routing for out of the Jake/Drumgun/Jdel trio. But at his current pace and time to max versus those other guys, I do not see him getting maxed xp before them unless something changes. He is a father after all.
  21. Define "people". If you don't want to get maxed, then don't get maxed. Again, it seems simple to me. I very much enjoyed my progress to maxing, and it didn't feel like an obligation except for 1 or 2 skills I didn't like, which I pushed through (yes for the cape and knowing I did it, but 95% of the time I was having fun).
  22. I am most interested in watching the battle between rank 5-7 (Goud, Dragonseance and Forsberg). All of them should be the next 3 to 5.2B I think (after Drumgun) and all of them are going strong.
  23. I understand that the game has a taken a change in direction, and that you guys might not like it. I really don't understand why you want to cap XP milestones so early though. Its been stated that you don't like the standards of xp-craze held up against you, but aren't you guys doing the same to the other group by trying to limit them? Honestly I think it would be great to have both. To have the players who love to have fun around minigames, and to have those who work hard to achieve incredible amounts of XP. And I think we do have both, but obviously there has been a shift in player though. That is player driven though, and trying to cap xp makes very little sense. Players enjoy training skills, pushing themselves to train more efficiently and amount higher totals. So in a way, it is fun for them. If you take that away, many players would quit the game, especially since RS is very top-heavy in terms of high to low level ratio. It would make Jagex lose a lot of money. Plus, what is the point really? You think everyone is just going to switch back over to playing castle wars because XP is capped? It seems a little selfish that you would want many others game ruined so that the atmosphere of the game you are playing in is more suited to you. I know what I said isn't very cohesive and put-together well, but it just seems crazy what you are saying. I thought you surely joking in your early post, which is why I didn't respond. People should just play the style they like to play, sure there aren't as many people focused on certain styles but there definitely is a wide range of interests in the playerbase.
  24. Seriously, it makes sense to have the best cape in the game come when you "beat" the game. Obviously you don't need those 99s to put the cape together, but they are there so the cape is rarer and not handed out to everyone. Otherwise, whats the point? Collecting all the pieces isn't that hard, the best cape in the game shouldn't be that easy to obtain. Not sure if I will vote for the new capes at 120 or at 200M xp though. 200M xp makes logical sense (120 just randomly appeared with dungeoneering)...but if its 120 I will be able get some to wear faster. It is funny though that when these come out it will go back to how 99 capes used to be, such as everyone training cooking just to get the cape, fun stuff.
  25. Gratz Drumgun on rank #2! Goud also passed Dragonseance for rank #5. That will be an interesting race. Also Forsberg could be passing Almostlost pretty soon.
