How long should it take for someone to max? Training methods are much slower (thank god) so a single skill like mining can take a couple of months. When I got 91 rcing, summ wasn't out and I did astrals. When I started rcing nature runes graahks were out which speed things up a bit. Still took me a total of like 5 solid months of 15 hour days if I added up all the hours total I had put into it.

Probably higher than EOC playing figures. not likely considering its currently free and new content and is still significantly lower. (40k vs either 56k or 96k (not sure if homepage numbers include 07scape numbers)) First off, I didn't think I would do 07scape, and now I don't even care about the Eoc version anymore. I don't know what exactly the future of runescape is, but here is my wild speculation. -07 is very popular right now. I believe the number of actual people playing (so accounting for bots), there are more people playing 07 scape. -I have believed for years now that jagex is updating the game into the ground. A game doesn't need an update every week, it just makes things too big with too much dead content and too little hope for new accounts. -07 scape can be a safe haven for players that don't like a main game update, lose everything, etc. -07 has no Eoc, which blows. I believe pretty strongly that 07 scape is the future of runescape.

After waterfall and vampire slayer, is there a next obvious quest to do? Drudic ritual and rune mysteries are already done.

Each day I find myself getting a little more excited for 2007 servers. I know they won't provide people with what they think they want, but I am starting to think the game will provide something no one has experienced before, and will be incredibly fun. Nothing new for WoW people, but for RS players, this will be the first time that a new game "wave" starts, and everyone playing will already know everything about the game. The sheer amount of strategy and race-against-the-clock activity that will be going on will be--for me--fascinating. Will you go for 85 slayer? 91 rc? Farming for herbs? The fact that guthan's will be the sh** again, no one will have gp at first, so on and so on. Add to that the fact that our main accounts aren't going anywhere, and you got a real recipe for success. In typical runescape fashion, I am looking at maxing my account in 2013 and a new version of the game comes out :evil: But I am diffidently excited to see how things play out. I will be spending a month in Air Force Field Training in May-June, so I will probably fall way behind the curve, but that's real life career vs. a game, so whatever.

I tried to find it in the thread but after 30 pages I haven't been able to. Anyway, I though I read here that putting off story missions until the Bowl was a good idea. I guess the logic is to go for the resource special missions, which will help you more as it get's you better crew/ship upgrades, so you fail less missions, and get to the end faster. I am half way through the Hook and I have all the hook ship upgrades, 3 tetsu pl8 scrolls, 12.6k chims, 3.6k bamboo, 2k gunpowerd, and 380 slate. I think it's going pretty good, but I haven't done a story mission since the arc.

Was there an update to the action bar so that holding down a shortcut key no longer drops your entire inventory, and now it only drops 1 item per stroke?

I had a 2 hour, than 1 hour, than 5 hour dry dock penalty in a row. My luck finally caught up to me.

I have taken several 6-18 month breaks since I started my account in 2007. It is very rewarding to come back to the game after a long break and be able to jump right back into it. Don't give away your stuff or otherwise sabotage your account, you will regret that later. I sold a red phat on the GE back when there wasn't free trade for about 300m, and I come back to the game to find they are worth like 2B. That hurt. Take a break, move on to something else that interests you, and don't feel bad about it.

It amazes me that anyone would vote for less choice anywhere in life. I will vote for it.

75% through the Skull and it is getting really interesting. Really feeling like I am building up momentum, and I got my first Tetsu pl8 scroll about an hour ago.

I got both from the SoF and I have 5 large recharge gems and 35 small gems. I was saving them for agility because I figured that would be the most annoying skill to max, but while doing a farming run it got me thinking whether I was going about it the right way. Is there 1 or 2 skills that the hive mind has decided are the best to use these pendants on? I was thinking farming or slayer? Thanks.

No, you absolutely shouldn't. Assuming you have enough time, the 3rd ship will be useless until the scythe(4th island) , and by then you'll easily get the needed bamboo(you still get 1-2 ac missions a day and can always use merchants on them). I don't think you ever really have to turn back for resources when you do things right. Anyway, i read somewhere that story missions give no distance. Can anyone confirm that and can anyone tell if the story missions have tiers or they will always pop up for the region you are focusing on? Planning on skipping all the story missions until pincers, but i'd need to know if that would make those missions harder to do later on. Of course I read this like 2 minutes after the game reset... It's no big deal really, I'm not racing anybody :P

I did not realize you could focus on going to a lower region!!! Today I succeeded on all my missions to the skull, but my bamboo is sitting at 1400 because all the rewards are gunpowder. Should I set my focus to the Arc for tomorrow so I can get to 3000 bamboo?

Also I think it's worth adding that this update is the first one that has motivated me to train my skills up to in a long time. The herblore update was probably the last one to do it, but that's a skill rather than a minigame. I am banging out 90 smithing and fishing for Tetsu and it feels like the old days again!
