  1. Can't help but feel you've mixed up your method of calculating TVC. I base time value on time spent actuating profit, such as a 5 minute herb run of 1m being worth 12m/hour in terms of time value if the other 55 mins of the hour are spent exclusively doing non-moneymaking activities such as training agility or DG.
  2. Don't buy Bandos unless you have nothing better to sink money into. Here's a list of everything better than Bandos, in rough order. 70 prayer 89 herb 68 summ Zerker ring Fury 88 summ 91 herb/95 prayer/96 summ Until then, just wear this for everything. Whip/rapier Ddef Neit/slayer helm Verac/proselyte top Verac's skirt Barrows gloves Glory RoW
  3. Okay so you're missing that this is an opportunity cost thing. If you don't know what opportunity cost is there's the Wikipedia page you can look at, but basically, it's the cost of doing something as measured by what you'd be doing if you weren't doing it. It's a central concept in economics, but it's also hugely useful for understanding how to maximize the efficiency of grinding in RuneScape. HappySeeker is trolling you cuz you don't know about this and you're trolling back and so let's end the cycle of trolling and explain it better, shall we? In our basic scenario, you do your slayer task and ignore the drops completely, just killing the dragons and doing the task because slayer xp, [bleep] yeah! It takes you X minutes to kill enough dragons for a full inventory's worth of bones (which you leave on the floor), and you earn X minutes' worth of slayer xp. In our banky scenario, after X minutes, you make a one-minute trip to the bank (one minute being the arbitrary estimated banking time, whatever) after the same number of kills. The stuff you're banking is worth like 189k cuz it's 42 slots at 4.5k each. In this scenario, you spend X+1 minutes to earn X minutes' worth of slayer xp and 189k gp. Now let's do a side-by-side comparison of these two scenarios. The difference? In Scenario 2, everything is the same, except you spend one extra minute in order to earn 189k gp. In other words, by giving up one minute, you can earn 189k. So now you should be asking yourself, which is more valuable, one minute or 189k gp? 189k gp for only a minute's worth of work is equivalent to 11,340k gp/hr. So if you think that 11.34m gp/hr sounds pretty good (given an arbitrary 1 minute of added time per bank run--obviously it would be better if you were faster or worse if you were slower), then you should choose Scenario 2 instead of Scenario 1. You're much better at effort than me. Stalk my posts please.
  4. Not efficient with new cball prices.
  5. It's hard to begin with even for maxed combat players with good gear. As I said, don't try it for anything other than finding out how ridiculously bad it is. Come back when you're near-maxed combats.
  6. Therefore slayer xp is money. Untradeable money? That doesn't sound very useful. Slayer xp =/= money Time is money Time is slayer xp Time is fm xp Time is whatever you make it. ??????????????????????????? Use time that would otherwise be spent slaying to make money = turning slayer xp into money. LOL THIS IS ROCKET SCIENCE
  7. Ardy 3 is better than FC, yes.
  8. If you're slaying, bones and hides and a byproduct of achieving your objective, that being slayer XP. If you do not bank on the premise of dragon slaying for profit not fitting into the way you value your time, you most likely need to reassess what you're basing that decision on. Let me break it down simply. Killing dragons off-task for profit Process: Kill dragon, pick up bone, bank. Killing dragons on-task for slayer xp Process: Kill dragon, get new task. Are you seeing it now? The most time-consuming part of gathering bones for profit is killing the dragon. Banking takes relatively little time if you do it right. It just so happens, however, that your already undertaking the most time-consuming step of gathering bones by killing dragons for slayer xp. That means that the profit of gathering bones can be based only on the time spent picking up bones (which is lossless unless you're mentally challenged, so we won't even factor it) and banking. Assuming 1 minute banking trips (this is assuming we are braindead and that it takes a whole minute for us to return to blue drags at Kuradal's) and bones going at 4.5k, we are essentially earning 11,340,000 per hour for 42 bones banked in a minute (24 inv slots +tort for ext atk, ext str, DDS and slayer ring. Ppots should be measured appropriately). tl;dr version: You're inefficient if you leave your bones because it's not worth your time to bank unless you honestly earn more than 11m/hour. Blue drags are an awesome task. Do them. Disclaimer: cba to do bonecrusher calcs. Cutoff for BC to be more efficient than banking is actually quite high though. Disclaimber v2: I leave hides and crush bones because I'm lazy despite valuing my time at only 5m/hour. Make of that what you will.
  9. This is completely wrong. RoW was updated to affect unique drops ages ago. Also, replace the MSB with a rune cbow with runite bolts. Prime's ranged def isn't that low. I'm fairly sure that you'll have better DPS with runite bolts than a MSB. Ditch the fire cape for a soul wars cape too. Its effect on your staying power is non-trivial, unlike the fire cape. As far as soloing goes, don't try it at your level unless you're doing it just for shits and giggles. You need ovls, soul split and a yak for it to be efficient.
  10. I tested arrows and they were shit. MSB, arma, glaivens, alerter etc.
  11. Whenever I read metres, or inches, or feet, i get uneasy. all the humanness is sucked out of measuring the lengths of objects for me when I think about metres *shudders*. But part of me knows it is an effective way to think about how one measures the lengths of objects. How do I reconcile these disjoint parts of myself??
  12. The tip.it Glacors guide severly undervalues magic atk and overvalues the void melee bonus vs glacytes. Ahrim's is a better choice than void.
  13. I was using an XPWer's formula of (EA*(equip+64))/64, with void bonus acting on the final effective roll. Using Paleas' formula, it comes out as this. Magic Ahrim - 281 Void - 178 Melee Ahrim - 476 Void - 494 Conclusion still stands. Did some checking up and am going to use Paleas' formula from now on. Thanks for pointing that out to me.
  14. Cutting yew logs is not okay.
  15. ... Rings are not cheap to buy at all, if you're using them properly (quick fairy ring access). Fletching unlocks the best training method for most players and should be prioritised.
  16. DG while doing herb runs.
  17. Don't block anything until after you've unlocked helm, ring and fletching.
  18. I know, however they cost more cash in the long term. This is the opposite of true. I can do the maths if you want but supers are cheaper in the long run due to saving time that can be used to make money. Don't act like an optimal setup doesn't exist. It's your choice what you use but that doesn't stop you from finding out what's best. Judging by your previous comment, however, I doubt that you're qualified for that.
