  1. Yeah, autoattacks do pretty good damage, and you can manage without abilities if you really want. But of course you can also level to 99 woodcut with oak trees... sooo...
  2. Not at all. I decided to try out Fight Caves earlier today and used no food at all, and no prayers/curses other than Augury (until Jad, of course). Yes you're "forced" to use defensive abilities, but then again, you're forced to use "abilities" or be the magikarp of RuneScape. I was using a staff (2h, so almost no defensive abilities) the entire time, and only switched to a shield every 10 minutes or so in order to use the Rejuvenate ultimate, which I feel is definintely not a lot of work. Granted Fight Caves aren't exactly difficult, they are still an endurance game, and the fact that I never even touched prot prayers or food says a lot about how fun EoC is going to be for non-boss situations. If you don't use abilities, you deserve to waste money on food. The game wasn't relaxing before, it was boring. If I wanted to play an idling game I can do that on IRC where I level up by simply not doing anything in a channel for months. Interaction makes a game engaging and fun, if you can't handle a minimal amount of interaction with a game, I don't think you're cut out for playing games.
  3. Out of curiosity, what year did you start playing in?
  4. If you want beta news, check the public (when logged in) beta events forum. Never ever check the home page, it's a giant waste of your time.
  5. I killed all 6 of the original brothers (I haven't done ROTM yet) with very minimal effort. All using Magic (Divine Storm + Extremes + Augury) in melee range, even Karil (to see if I could do it, which I easily could). I was in gano and using just an Armadyl Battlestaff, I took very little damage with standard protection prayers up. And when I did it again (this time using Snare, since my Magic is too low for Entangle) I barely needed anything. With Divine Storm, Extreme Magic Potions, and Augury, I was maxing out with 4200 crits on Karil, lol. (Oddly, I was hitting Karil harder than the others, haha... just missing a ton more. Clearly all RNG, but still) I wish I could've tested Akrisae, since people keep saying how stupid he is now, but alas. So yeah, as long as you have something like Augury, you can even mage Karil. And definitely mage the others no problem. Though I'm annoyed at the lack of updates, this is still fun ^^.
  6. Well, most of the problems being listed could possibly be fixed already... it's been a month since the last beta update... so who knows how much they've fixed in that time.
  7. Lol, they make you play a single game of whatever they are focus testing that weekend... it's not like you have to spend 5 hours grinding that game to get the outfit. Takes 2-20 minutes. (Depends on the game :))
  8. Ok. This is useful information. Thank you for sharing. I logged-on to the RS main site, then checked the forums and saw it there. Fyi tho, the fact that you have to log onto the RS site and go to the forums to see that means it's very easy to miss. If you don't regularly go on the RSOF anyways, or get told about it by someone like you, I don't see how one would know if. On the other hand, if one REALLY wants the outfit, it shouldn't be that hard to go looking for information on when to go on, or just try going on every like saturday and if you can go on, figure out what you need to do for the costume. You even get an in-game notification when you earn the outfit piece. (Sucks if something prevents you from going on RS during that time period however. In case anyone is wondering, the next event is PC from the 3 to 6 of August. Yeah, I mainly meant it for the people not knowing about beta weekends. If people care that much about not missing something important, just check that forum every weekend and see if they have to go participate in anything :).
  9. An events forum you can only view if you are logged in AND one the people with full-time beta access. Anyways I have to agree its peoples own fault for missing it, certainly valid reasons have been wagered BUT all the same we have had an event every weekend, there's been a news post every weekend and we know that 4 of these weekends are to yield the outfit pieces. Certainly it may get shunted down the page or whatever but you should be fully aware thursday/friday a post about the event will appear in the recent news as it has every week thus far and as such should make the effort to look for it if you desire to earn the costume and it's not even like it's alot to look through as you can just skim headlines to find the one you want. Would this be on the beta forum which is only accessible to players who have unrestricted beta access in the first place? BTW, the RS toolbar is a far, far better way of viewing the newsposts. No, as long as you're logged in you can view the events forum. Its SOLE PURPOSE is for non-beta people to submit feedback on the beta weekends. So they also give out the important info to the non-beta people.
  10. Who checks the front page for beta news? Lol... there's a beta events forum you can visit DAYS before the event to see if it's a good event or not.
  11. Fairly certain that reworking the Dung weapons is on their TODO list.
  12. Nope. I have Blood barraged at ape atoll with no prayers, except the occasional soul split. I just used a shield (splitbark). To be fair, those apes are level 120 or something now... so they're considered weak trash in EoC.
  13. 500x6 doses is 3k health, which is far more than the 1800 rocktail. Any more and the burst healing would be far too high. Drinking 6 doses of brew quickly reduces your stats to about 50 (from overloaded stats) taking 1-2 minutes to go back up unless you drink 2 super restore doses. You don't just need 10 brew flasks, you need 10 brew flasks and 2-3 super restore flasks + the ability to use overloads to heal fully. Not to mention that drinking so many potion doses will come at a cost in attack speed because you stop attacking when you spambrew. So... you understand nothing about the current niche for brews then? As I stated before, they aren't meant for panic healing, if you're trying to fill in the role of panic healing with brews, you're doing it wrong and you don't understand the design concept behind the brew change. Use food if you want emergancy heals in the middle of combat. Use brews if you want supplementary heals when you aren't getting nuked. See, they don't want you avoiding food, they want you using both, depending on the situation.

  15. Technically you could use flasks if you wanted. Making it far higher than rocktails. Brews should NOT be better burst healing than food, in any situation. Otherwise there would be no point to food at all.
  16. Using them for healing would be like using herring for healing in the main game. They may not drain your action bar, but they also don't do much other than take up inventory space. Don't they still heal for 500 a dose? That means it's the best healing per slot in the game still. The new niche it fills is non-emergancy heals, things like in between mobs, or when you only are taking minimal damage that has started to add up over time. Think of them like Prayer Renewals now, far more efficient than restores, but not good if you need large bursts.
  17. Tough to properly kite in a game without easy to pull off snares and stuff :P. If people could root in any armor reliably and such, I'm sure we'd see more of it.
  18. RS is cheap as dirt anyways, why bother? Lol.
  19. fake, Lmao, failure. Not a fake, second guy just fails at life.
  20. They have yet even talk about summoning since they introduced it a few years ago...
  21. Looks good to me, but then again i've been retired for over 2 years, lol.
