I am looking for a few sigs, not backgrounds, sigs, that will rotate with my Words of Wisdom sig. I don't play RS anymore, so I can't pay you in GP. BUT...(there's always a butt) I will give anybody who I decide makes a good sig that I can use a Words of Wisdom sig, which resides on my server. It will be fully customizable, and you'll have the ability to change the backgrounds, font, and quotes. So, start making! I'd prefer 300x150, animated, if possible. Have my name and the text <?php leet("BTTF_Man"); ?> somewhere in it. I like green.

I've decided to try out making some free sigs for people. I'm a beginner, and I have an OK advanced graphics proggy, so go easy on me. Okay, I've been seeing a lot of posts on the forum asking how to have multiple signatures, or a randomly-selected signature, or how to use PHP signatures. I've decided to write a tutorial for this. However, unlike the other one, this one uses my own random sig generator rather than alexi02's, which unfortunately, is slow. It may be just me, but that's my experience with it. So here you have it! First of all, you must gather together all your sig images and upload them somewhere, saving all of the addresses. For instance, I'm going to be making a signature that rotates between the Yahoo! and Google logos. So, I'd use the addresses http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/ww/m6v9f.gif . Now, we'll go to my random signature maker, located at http://vipersoftrunescape.com/phpbbfix/sigs/sig_make.php. You enter all of the addresses of your images, seperated by semicolons. In my case, I'd type in http://vipersoftrunescape.com/phpbbfix/ ... 7968655990 . If I display this in an image on the forums, it won't work, because it has .php and/or a question mark in it. Example: So, we need to use another tool to make the filename .jpeg and get rid of the question mark. So, noting the URL we just got, we go to http://vipersoftrunescape.com/phpbbfix/getaround.php. In the box, enter the URL you got at the previous page, in my case

Closed. =============== I made a script that automatically generates a URL that you use instead of your PHP sig's URL to use it. Example: Normally, my words of wisdom thing wouldn't work, because it has .php at the end. But using my tool, I made a URL that DOES work (http://vipersoftrunescape.com/phpbbfix/ ... 54206.jpeg). So, now, when we display it, it seamlessly redirects, and PhpBB is none the wiser! Example: The BBCode is: [img=http://vipersoftrunescape.com/phpbbfix/1088388831554206.jpeg] But if you compare it with the original image (vipersoftrunescape.com/wordsofwisdom/index.php), it's the same (or actually not, but it does the same thing)! After various tests, I've found that these forums don't like the ? (question mark after the file name, i.e to select the user). So they only way to have the random script is just to link to the file (e.g .jpg) and not have anything after it = no more random scrips unless I have a file/directory for each user :| I know there's something in Apache and PHP where you can have a script generate directories temporarily. See pastebin.com and look at how the URL for each code snippet is - it's a subdirectory. The subdirectories aren't actually there; there virtual and made by the script. You could look at the source. Or switch to CGI.

Hmm I've tried putting a .htaccess file in. It works when I put the link in the web browser but doesn't do anything when I put it on these forums. Are you sending any headers in your file? No, I modified it in cPanel so that jpegs are parsed as PHP. I try not to mess with headers whenever I can.

If you change the MIME type on your server so that an image extension is parsed as PHP, it'll work. I did that for my sig.

I need some backgrounds for my current signature (they rotate), if you want to do that. Type: Abstract Text: Your name in the bottom-right corner, fairly small (see the current BGs in my sig) One thing though, it has to be colored so that you can see black text over it.
