  1. In the Morrocco Game... Two timelines developed around 1560: 1) I moved my capital to Safi to form a merchant republic...which was totally stupid since there was no one, other than Napels (Which has 1 province) wanted to EVEN give me trade rights. So I gave up on that game. 2) I focused all my efforts on exploring the new world, found Creek, invaded, annexed their country, and carried on colonising South America. Europe has lost both of its trade leagues(Austria has Venice and Hansa became an Administrative Monarchy), Austria is growing as a chain of provinces. Castille is still my ally(after I freed it from tyrannical Spain) Great Britain has the majority of South Westen France... My trade center is worth almost 1,000 thanks to my American Empire.
  2. A circular timeline? Ok, a circular 4 dimentional shape would be a shape that started as something, did something else, and then went back to its starting shape. So....lets simplify that....An Planet and a Moon Orbiting. It starts at A, goes to B, goes to C, ect, ect, ect. If you were drawing that in a 4 dimentional universe then it would be a Torus(or 4d equivilant) since all the various positions would be shown contagiously. While in the 3rd dimention we see it 'frame by frame'. Alternatively you can consider a balloon being constantly inflated and deflated. Going from a small sphere, to a large sphere, and back to small sphere again. Its a less perfect analogue because we would see the person blowing air into the balloon. Obviously trying to explain the 4th dimension to someone living in the 3rd dimension is like trying to explain a sphere to someone using only circles...without the concept of depth existing either.
  3. Time travel is also popular...
  4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_experiment#Synopsis And for some accompanying music: [hide] [/hide] Its a magic wand that allows: Invisibility Transporters Invunerablity Need I go on?
  5. Nah, just meant it was slightly cute, but eyerollingly stupid at the same time...would have probably worked better with Ico and Dungeonal, since Rocco is more likely to take offence.
  6. Watching Dungeonal and Rocco fight.
  7. Its 2070, Oil grows on trees. (Or, Ico won't enforce it)
  8. Its 2070. He has electric cars and solar powered houses.
  9. Europa electronically buys some shares on the Cornish Stockmarket. A record is kept of how much money there is. It then sells the shares for hard cash, which it then uses to buy a computer with a webcam on, electronically, and both are delivered to a Post Office Box set up electronically. They are both boxed up seperately, and a sheet of written instructions is emailed and printed by the post office, and stuck to the pair of boxes. The boxes are then boxed up. It then hires a courier to transport the cash and webcam computer to the French Embassy, a company with a good reputation is used and they are not told there is cash in the box. When the box arrives at the French Embassy the instructions are read, and the computer is set up. Europa then Skypes the French Embassy, and an order for Hot Air Balloons and Medical supplies are placed with reputable French Hotair Balloon Companies. A website is then created 'www.internationalredcresentsballoonservice.eur.opa' and google bombs its way to number 1 on the search strands for Red Cross, International Health and what not. People are recruited from all over the globe. The Hotair Balloon fleet is then dispatched to render aid across the planet, stopping at ATMs to collect money (in no more than £100 per day). Each team is given a computer for Skype conferences with Europa high command. The International Red Cresent is a symbol of Medical Assistance, and thus, under the laws of war cannot be attacked. Though may, of course, be stopped and searched. If anyone wants to donate money then that is cool.
  10. So basically....If you want to go faster, you gotta scream louder  Mather was never supposed to have 500 cash, that was a typo. Texas sees the writing on the wall and invades you...Creek only has 2k army if I remember, just send in 4k. Use the other 6k are border guards in case the other try to invade you.
  11. Yeah, it is sort of a 'What the hell' situation. I mean the game should be advance at about 1/5, not 1/20. Would probably make more sense if it was 50 for level 1, 100 for level 2, 200 for level 3, and so on and so forth. Manpower is also rather broken... If I am getting 1 cash and 500 manpower per province then I can build an army at a rate of 10 to 6. Meaning I need 100 cash provinces, but only 60 manpower provinces. And since they both count as the same I am left with 20,000 extra manpower per turn. Would be more sensible to have 1 and 250...since not everything requires manpower, while everything, seemingly, requires money. Also puring armies is not something to be encouraged =P I take full responsibility, because I suggested both systems without fully exploring them. I would seriously advise people to post all of their complaints now, before we get into the game proper...or forever hold their peace.
  12. What is the problem, Rocco?
  13. Tech is simple leveling up: Warfare: Increases Army Skill by 0.5 per level. New unit type is released every 5 levels. Production: Increases cash per province by 0.1 per level. Increases tech output by 0.1 in all provinces, every 5 levels. Civil: Decreases the cost of projects by 1% per level. Adds 50 manpower to all provinces every 5 levels. Space: Increases Fleet Skill by 0.5 per level. New ship type is released every 5 levels. Weird: Allows you to invent a new tech every 5 levels. Gives 1 national idea per 10 levels. Level 1 requires 200 points in the catagory Level 2 requires 400 Level 3 requires 800 4-1,600 5-3,200 And on on and so forth.
  14. 60 years ago America was a debtor nation, with its primary enemy as Canada. Time changes alot of things.
  15. /join #space5 tavern Ok then, merits: Drake, Retech: 2 Angelo, Mask: 5 Earth: 6 With the trade dispute finally settled, life in the universe moves on. The new neutral zone, in which no shipboard weapons, has, unfortunately, created a wealth of opportunity for privateers. While the Russians and Terrans argue and block any attempt, by either side, to send more patrol ships into the zone, hundreds are captured and sold into slavery daily. On Mars the situation is becoming increasingly desperate, as more and more people starve. Not helped by strange rumours of humanoids with large floppy ears carrying anyway the dead, with some of the more extreme rumours saying that the humanoids even feast on the dead in public. Even more rumours abound that both the Terrans and Russians have captured the strange creatures for autopsy, though neither side will confirm this. Meanwhile, on Fuller Station, Tauros and Lynx continue to be imprisoned. Their trial has found them guilty, since no additional evidence was given in their defence, and several dead cats were found in Lynx's room. Further allegations were then filed against Tauros after he irradiated the prisoner wing, but managed to incapacitate his accomplice, Lynx, preventing escape. Both have been schedualed for transfer to an undisclosed location. Tauros has already left, in a lead lined box, in a powered down state, while Lynx has been left behind to recieve medical assistance for radiation injuries.
  16. Yes, me pointing out that 60 years have past is irrelevant. Its like me saying '15 billion years ago my land was part of the big bang, so I should have those modifers still' Your comments are irrelevant, since you are saying 'My land is allied to the USA(Which doesn't exist) so therefore cannot be muslim.' Simply because you do not understand the sarcasm(Which I admit is rather sparse there), doesn't mean it is not present.
  17. As you can see the land I own is made up of Matter, so therefore I demand control over matter.
  18. Saudi Arabia is still British if I remember correctly.
  19. Ok, reiteration, America wants you dead
  20. Ship prices would be nice. Also, the stats need to include tech levels, army skill, fleet skill, any other modifers.
  21. Rocco takes National Idea 'Troll Saudi Arabia', and hilarity ensues as the population of Russia log on to the Virtual World and use their matrix powers to destroy it.
  22. Since you are level 0, and they are level 0, and they grow at 0.5 per year, and you grow at 0.25+0.8 (1.05), then they would never catch up to you if they had equal provinces, and would require 210% of your number of provinces to break even with you.
  23. Rocco 14 Khanate 14 Cash (1 PP) 7 Tech (0.5 PP) 7 Production Tech (0.5 PP) 0 Manpower (0 PP) 36 Eurals 14.4 Cash (0.4 PP) 18 Tech (0.5 PP) 10.8 Space Tech (0.3 PP) 13,000 Manpower (500 PP) Total: 28.4 Cash 25 Tech 7 Production Tech 10.8 Space Tech 13,000 Manpower (Sorry Rocco, was early morning when I was doing it =P) @ Mather: USA has a 0.5 Tech growth, so assuming 200 provinces, they grow by 100 per year. Level 5 Wierd Tech would be 200+200+400+800+1,600=3,200. Ergo, 32 years, if they only did Wierd Tech. Of course, plopping down projects left right and center to speed up tech research would help considerably. As to the savant nature of your country: I would assume that if you only funded super tech, and ignored all the basic, rational, advancements: Aka Sword to Glock, rather than Sword to Steel Sword, to Halberd, to Pike, to Cannon to Pistol to Glock. Then your country would be technologically backwards, but still have cutting edge science.
