I think I have successfully proved my point. Now it just remains for you to join up the dots, which can be done at your own leisure.
-
So....basically...you have 1 set of morals, which are embodied as rights...and another set of tiered morals. You are exactly the same as Resistance or me...or most everyone else. Although, if we wanted to put it into the correct context: 'Everyone can have the welfare state....except you, you refused to stop eating cake and now weigh 500 kilograms' 'Everyone can have the welfare state....except you, you come from another country and we can't afford to pay for the rest of the world.' 'Everyone can have the welfare state....except you, you don't have a job, your parents didn't have jobs, their parents didn't have jobs either, and you have 13 children, who also don't have jobs.' 'Everyone can have the welfare state....except you, you tried to detonate an atomic bomb in Oslo.' 'Everyone can have the welfare state....except you, you stole fifty million dollars of tax payers money, flew to Switzerland, lived the high life for 30 years, and when you ran out of money and suffered from cancer, returned to your home.' 'Everyone can have the welfare state....except you, you have already had two liver transplants and you haven't stopped drinking, your drinking right now.' 'Everyone can have the welfare state....except you, you aren't an organ doner.' 'Everyone can have the welfare state....except you, you intentionally shot your leg off to claim on insurance.' Double Morality is an inherant part of being human, without it, the state cannot function.
-
So basically not-applicable to running a country? 'Everyone can have the welfare state....except you, you once kicked a ball through my window so now we can die in the gutter.'
-
Yup, you are tiering. 'This person won't give me this, so I won't give them this.' Same as before 'If I was King I would be awesome, if someone else was King they might not be awesome.' Double Morals...They exist because society couldn't function without them.
-
So going with a tiered system of morals. Makes sense.
-
Who would decide who deserved the opportunity? For instance. You and I are neighbours. There is money tree growing on the boundry line, I say 'I am having the money tree', you say 'We should split the money tree', I agree. You then find the tree bare, and I have a new car. Now, either you have to take on some double morals, because I can't be trusted to treat you in the same regard as you treat me....or you need to take on some double morals because you are treating yourself differently from how you are treating me. Ergo, double morals are born out of the world not being perfect.
-
Not so. Double morals are a healthy thing. For instance, it would be considerably better if I was King. However If someone else was King then it might not be considerably better. Ergo I have double morals. It is also the case with Communism...It could be considerably better if we did, but we don't, so it is worse. Double morals are merely our way of saying 'I'd like that power, but I wouldn't like someone else to have that power.' If you don't have them then you can't function in society because you don't compromise.

Political compass is the name of the 2d test.... I assumed, wrongly, that people could tell the difference...
-
See, the new test is far more insightful...Since both myself and Mather are roughly the same position of the compass (Because of its laughable questions)

Type of Flask. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erlenmeyer_flask More commonly known as a conical flask. Thus, Lynx's way of saying 'Scientific know it all'

Rocco: +2 Philistine
-
I laugh in the face of your puny 2d tests! http://www.politicaltest.net/eng More or less accurate: Nationalism is a tool for the state. Religion should not run rampant, but it does have a place in society. I am reactionary and improvisational. I tend more to strong leadership than free for all. In a perfect world communism works, while capitalism produces dystopia. The Militaty is a tool of the state. This is misleading. Me not voting for giving animals human rights skewed this (I like animals, but treating a ferret like a human is madness...Animal rights would be better.)

Hmmm, might be able to make it at the start, but would have to leave about an hour later. As would Retech(depending on if he wanted to do the other thing)

What time? Since I have something planned Saturday night?

*Any particular type of metal/other material? **A radioisotope thermoelectric generator (RTG, RITEG) is a nuclear reactor technology electrical generator that obtains its power from radioactive decay. In such a device, the heat released by the decay of a suitable radioactive material is converted into electricity by the Seebeck effect using an array of thermocouples. If you want a nuclear reactor then increase the volume by a factor of 8, and weight by a factor of 10. Cut the time between refuelings by 40 years(RTGs last for about 70 years before they need replacing, with a gradual degredation of processing power over the period. A submarine's nuclear reactor has a lifetime of 30 years, without refueling) Add some sort of energy spike, since the power produced is far in excess of what would be usable for a computer (The processors would run faster, generating more heat, eventually you would reach a limit...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_voltage_scaling.) ***http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardwired_control The hardwiring generates signals which are required to operate systems. An AI can blunt force these signals (Ironically the huge amount of processors and memory systems make this possible), bypassing the control unit(see Tauros). (This is obviously subject to rolls, since it is random chance they get the right signal on one of the processors.) ****Fighting a war between two AIs on the same platform is ultimately decided by their level. I would probably steal the DM system...Level 1 AI gets 1d6, level 2 gets 2d6...First AI to get 5 6s would take control. Being software based gives an extra die against hardware. While being hardware based give you immunity from getting deleted. (Your program reconstructs itself whenever deleted), not powering said hardware negates this advantage until it is powered again. *****Elementary Physics. An object in motion stays in motion until another force acts upon it. A human, for instance, requires time to stop said object. (This doesn't take into account breaks since we are talking about externally powered movement.) ******Standby mode would infer it was using a lot less resources, without actually being shut down. Since its base program includes recording everything it percieves, and everything else requires a comparatively small amount of resources...it reduces some intake by a fraction of a percent of its normal intake. (This is a fairly null point to be honest. Going into Standby Mode has no benefit over remaining fully active...since the radioactive material still decays at the same rate. With the RTG the power (60 watts) could concievably be channeled into batteries. The Nuclear reactor (Going by the Victor Class Submarine) would produce 75 megawatts, which couldn't be stored in batteries for more than few seconds. Changing the control rod configuration would decrease the amount of energy consumed, down to approximately 60 Watts. This lower power could then be channelled into batteries. However, increasing the power output again would take time(Though would be effectively useless, as mentioned before, the server could not use 10 megawatts, let alone 75.) *******As above. Turning off an RTG isn't possible, though you could turn off everything connected to it. Turning off a nuclear reactor will mean you are held at low power(Still far more than you actually need) for two days.

Quite good how we can discuss breaking the law, in a practical manner, rather than a theoretical manner, without any sort of enforcing of the rules.

Tauros Addendum: Inner core: Wheels are 20 inches wide, and are covered in high resistance rubber. Server can be used by other AIs. (If it is hardwired then you bypass the hardwired bits...Most AIs are smart enough to know how to operate a computer) If two AIs exist on the platform then the software form will (Until upgraded) take precedence. Since they can operate in any part of the computer's memory, while Tauros is mostly Hardware based. As such he can be firewalled within nanoseconds, while firewalling the software would take milliseconds. Tauros can be transfered manually, but cannot be transfered electronically, due to its operating system being hardwired. Wired ports are mostly archic, with only the USB (Clue is in the name) being of any practical use...in the majority of situations.*** The server weighs 1 Metric Tonne, the majority of this weight is the vast memory storage system designed for 50 years of continous storage of 8 senses. The server cannot be pushed, stopped or otherwise moved easily. The server therefore has four electric motors driving the four wheels.**** Memory saved in a specialist format to prevent memories being added, (Also prevents memories being sent out, as having a converter undermines the point), also allows for the rapid searching, since rolling many years of normal video would make the system effectively useless.* (Ultraviolet, Infrared and Radio are the additional senses. The Infrared and Ultraviolet are barely used since they cover only those wavelenghs directly next to visible light(unless upgraded) while Radio stores all 'in use' wavelenghs. This can be set to all, none or any combination in between. The setting defaults to noise cancellation after 20 seconds, and requires 5 seconds of recognisable sound before it begins recording (aka it won't record a single blimp, nor pulsars, though it can detect them, and be set to record them should the need arise)). Coding abilities can be considered above average. Power is derived from a Radioisotpe Thermoelectric Generator.** A UBU, or Universal Battery Unit provides up to 48 hours power and can be recharged in any standard manner. In addition the unit has 12 different types of power sockets. Unit also features a Universal Mains Adapter, with various cables stowed in a compartment. If it is turned off, or loses power, then a significant(read 10 seconds) amount of memory may be lost in the buffer before it is written to memory. The unit also does not have a standby mode. The unity cannot use power saving efficently, since its harddrives are in constant use writing data from the senses. The need to record the first five senses is hardwired into the primary operating system (read Tauros), so cannot be shut off without additional AIs in the system. Unit is two meters tall, by one and one half meters wide by one and one half meters deep. Dust covers cover the myrid of sockets and slots, giving a cuboid appearence. A single large recess is built into the main unit, fitting one standard issue android. This retro design cuts down on memory by over a third and is often cited as the reason why more of these units were not built. The recess is dust covered when not in use. The server also has some 200 different ways of being linked to a wireless network, including an analogue radio transmitter, Bluetooth, WAN, LAN, semaphore flags in pop out holders, photoreceptors, power line communication algorithms, divining rods, an assortment of tea leaves and nephomancy (Information Delivered through Cloud Formation) systems. In addition to this it has a special Quantum Entanglement connection to its Android. This link is only used to share a passkey between the two, allowing them to use traditional wireless networks to communicate. This passkey is overrode by direct connection in the event that one or both the qubits were damaged. *Take it or leave it. I am not over fussed, just my opinion. **Produces 60 Watts, seems like enough power for a computer, without being the size of a house. ***Since Tauros has both female and male slots it can be considered either. ****Again, take it or leave it, just seems sensible. Continuity: The original Tauros was destroyed by a 13 kilometer straight drop, and trying to fit an apparently indestructable orb into his energy slot. His memories were collected from a backup, and uploaded into one of the prototype units that was never put into active production, largely due to the horrific failings in the design. Slated in the official report as 'As if it had been designed in the twentith century by a science fiction writer for use as the villian. It is on a par with Robot B-9 and Satan's Robot. This unit should never see the light of day.' Further adding 'It is possible, by looking at this machine, you are hacking it. By waving a flag, you are hacking it. By shining a torch, playing some music or turning on a light bulb...you are hacking it. This computer is possibly a bucket, missing its handle, sides and bottom and is, infact, a rope lowered into the well of knowledge and has, in the eyes of the user, come up with nothing.' Towards the end of the report the writer begins to get unkind, though maintains the same level of accuracy. Tauros apparently disagreed when asked, and decided to take the unit. If you have any changes you wish to make, please do so before Friday. I will make changes in return (for instance if you say it weighs 5 grams without changing anything else, I will change it back to 1 metric tonne.), and will make the final review on Friday, for all time. (Unless upgraded, obviously).

Actually that is a law:

Wow, that's incredibly stupid. Agreed. You have not been conned, any more than someone who payed 50 pence per game of pong back in the 80s now has twenty million different styles of pong to play, for free, now. Fact is after 6 months a product stops making any significant amount of money...so why not, occassionally, give away a game? Its hardly like you are actually angry enough not to give steam money in the future.

rofl lol that not how you ply

Ok, I have recieved word from at least three people that they will be unable to attend the session due to them wanting to play TF2. Personally I can't see the attraction, but should be a rather intesive session, so reschedualing for tommorrow. I am not sure about Mask or Mather, so if they wish to have their session I will be avaliable until about half an hour after the start time. Then, if they have not said anything I shall do something else for the evening.
