Its not exactly good at getting out of there...Fairly slow and see last quotation and explaination. Also: Tiny gun doesn't exist, though would be reduced to 1d4 if it did. Size modifers don't change the weight of the item. (Large Pistol weighs 5 pounds, small Pistol weighs 5 pounds...QED) Also, range of the Reduce Person Spell is 25 feet +5 per 2 levels. So using your incorrect version of the rules, you would only be able to hit at small damage + sneak attack at 30 feet...assuming a level 1 person made the ring, which isn't possible...Since you need to be a level 7 caster to produce a ring... Sniping: Stealthing in public: Could, quite easily, be taken as hearing your gun go off... Alternatively, if you are walking around outside people can see you, so you can't Stealth.

Will just explain Retech's logic so it doesn't blow up into a rule war: This was ignored originally, but the change from amulet to ring negates the argument somewhat. This was taken into consideration, but was felt that, maybe, the mod would be lenient in a speicific game. If not the plan was to pass one of the pistols to the mage hand (impossible since the pistol weighs 3 pounds more than the mage hand capacity, since it is double barrelled) Though, ultimately, could be cirmvented by dropping and picking up, since there was a wall between him and everyone else. (Though, in my opinion, this method was wholey unneccessary, and a single musket would be of greater efficency in general battle: (comparative damage) -2 -2 +2 -4 0 0 Then repeates, but does so at half the GP cost. Or even two muskets at only a slight additional penalty over two pistols(-4 to hit). Though given the probable min-maxing the extra 8 pounds may make this undesirable. Though, as I have said before, I feel 1 musket is enough.) You can duke out the rules on this as it is way over my head. However, I suspect that Retech would be happy to play a tiny character forever, or to only play it when taking a shot...so. Not entirely sure that is accurate: Small pistol deals 1d6 Sneak attack does 3d6 Musket ball costs 1 GP(or 5 GP for 5) Thunderball costs 100 GP and gives 2d6 extra damage. Ergo, 6d6 damage at 100 GP a shot, or 4d6 damage at 1 gp a shot, as long as there is sneak attack. Alternatively, 1d6 damage for 1 GP a shot or 3d6 damage for 100 GP a shot, if there is no sneak attack. He has a +10 to hit even after double weapon penalty and ect(apparently), so 1 in 2 chance to hit, dealing between 1d3 and 2d6, averaging at between 2 and 6. With 2 guns, that is 4 and 12, per GP. Plus any damage mods. It is not brillant damage to GP, lets be honest. Though is 99% cheaper than your stated prices. You require a free hand to reload, so you would need to drop or otherwise dispose of one of the pistols so you could load the other. However, with Quick Load, the reload action is reduced to a move action, rather than a full round action. So if dropping an item is a free action, you could drop, reload, pickup, end round, drop, reload pickup. So it is two full rounds for two full weapons. ...on the assumption that nothing goes wrong. Not sure it is relevant, but, like I said, way over my head. I am fairly sure that a ranged weapon still has its normal reach, and given that Retech is hiding behind a wall(in the example), AoO is not the most pressing concern.

Sorry people, screen brightness killed my eyes and having spent best part of an hour trying to convert KVIrc to white on black, I gave up. Ok, so rundown of the session plan: The Sarlane arrived, Volta had not come on the mission, having retired from merchant captaining, following her long battle with depression as a result of the Astare mission. The settlement had some things to trade, but nothing great. The scans which indicated some sort of an anomoly were largely ignored by the other colonies, but Ravenna sent out a team of Generic Explorers who reported that the anomoly was temporal in nature. The report, read five minutes before the event, was largely seen as too little too late, and the Sarlane was caught within the anamoly, along with the planet. Dun...dun...dunnn. Summery of things to do between now and next session: Create your character: Name, Country, short background peice. Gather together some ideas for techs your country has and pm me with them. If anyone wants to design a ship, please feel free to. Must conform to destroyer specs, can have one level 5 componants, two level 4, three level 3, four level 2 and any number of level 1s. Ship can have up to two weapons systems, and these do not count as bays.(Back to the Space 1 System on that) Elsewise I will use the Unity. If you feel inclined to do so, and you do not have to, then please give me any personal tech (Suits, rifles, ect) you might want to get for yourself. Going to try using personal Merit(tech) Trees, so people can upgrade their characters, without it being impossible for me to track =).

No, I mean a lump of 'stronger than concrete' that you can make in your freezer, and then rage out on. Though be careful shooting it...Apparently during the test someone shot it, bullet richochet of it and into the leg of the person it was being demonstrated to.

Well. I have the computer back to nearly as good as before the harddrive died all that time ago...somewhat interesting that Space ended and started in relation to my harddisk, despite none of the data files being store there =P. Anywho, one upgrade, one downgrade and one unknown. Upgrade, went from 3.9 to 4.6 on the Windows rating system. Downgrade, can't adjust screen brightness, so it is burning my eyes. Unknown, got one unknown peice of hardware. Other than that, back in working order =P

I resort to strings of nonsence whenever I am annoyed. The other alternative is getting a nice lump of pycrete...Should be easier to make in Norway, where Sawdust is relatively easy to obtain.

Cause, as we all know, DnD is completely unbreakable, and wearing more than 2 rings would break the game. Those intelligent people at DnD HQ truely know best. [/sarcasm] As an aside, I don't think the character would be entirely unplayable. The silliness with the tunnels is obviously a concern. (Need to cross 100 or 200 feet between shots, which would mean by the time you popped up for your third set of shots the area is deserted.) But the way I would do it...personally...Would be to have the pistols, fire them to deal with minions, then switch to a Masterwork Rifled Musket, and fire once, then withdraw from the situation, reloading as I go. The rifle would be my main weapon, so all the combat focus and such would be on there. Naturally you can argue that the super stealth mod means that you are entirely invisible in any and all circumstances. However, treating the mod as a human being, rather than a computer you have fed the rules into, it would be safe to assume that firing the gun would invalidate the stealth tactics. Also, the way vison works in DnD, anyone could see you through the arrow slits. Finally, you need to be unseen to stealth (Except with rogue talents I believe). Bunch of other things. =P

Different mission. Ok, for this evening. The Sarlane has returned, and some strange readings have been detected from one of the other colonies.

Best way to deter burglers, move to Britain. No one wants to spend a few hundred pounds flying their team out to break into your house =P Getting to school may be problematic.
-
More that some people go 'Ah, hug, scary' and I don't want to get on the wrong side of someone with a gun in that situation =P

Poor Earth *Hugs...Remembers Earth has a gun and is thankful I live in Britain*

What did you do? Just slip and point it down?

No, this is set about 1 week before when [extended redaction], which forces the Unity to be launched a week early, with the Beta Crew, as the proper crew(Space 1 Crew) refused to get on without their Psyche Evals. Edit: If you want to play your original character, again, you can.

I can support this.

As for creating characters...I have been in wales for the weekend, and so had planned to deal with this on Monday through Friday (though mayhappen I am going back to wales on Thursday and coming back Friday (Yay for piece of paper signing)). Anyway, key information: Name: Country: Backstory as to why you were selected, by your country, to by their represenative on the Unity.
-
Isn't any useful data, so far as I am aware. Monday's session is Space2 ending, and new Space will start on Friday. You don't have to turn up on monday, and there are no specific bonuses planned.

I find messing around with computers to be a generally bad idea in all circumstances. Since it is likely I will have to fiddle with my computer with some hours to get back to the same point as it was at...only 64 bit(the correct bit for my laptop) instead of 32. Anyway, sorted accommodation, in all probability. So should be back sunday night.

It is rather irrelevant who you vote for. What happens in game is all that matters.

/join #space-discussion-session tavern I am terribly tired, and trying to fix the laptop, so needed to watch the burner while it slowly burned 4 disks, and am waiting on one more.

Doubtful. Though we are gonna talk about this stuff in session.
