Cause it is not the title of a song?
-
Clearly is, as I am listening to it now.

Recycler would be fine for converting 1 bay into another in about 10 minutes, at a cost of 1 level. Or converting a gun into a different gun. Anagram fits, but requires a little thought (Since the internet makes it fairly easy to insta solve otherwise)

30 merits for this. (Or can be a red tech) (Comment rather than mod thing) Wouldn't 128 bit make more sense? Also, the amount of real memory would be unchanged: 1 byte is nominally understood to be 8 bits (an octet), however it can mean any length of bits. Ergo, a computer with 24 bytes (octet sized) would have 192 bits. If you used the same computer, but defined a byte as 86 bits, then it would have 2 bytes. The number of bits has not actually changed. Objectively, there is no difference in the amount of memory. (Though larger memory is supportable at larger bit systems, due to the increased address space. And one could make a long winded arguement that the same data now takes up more space, as a file with only 8 bits need a full 86 bits to be stored. So more space is wasted. However, I am not overly fussed about this.) Flying, Weapon or both? Gonna say no to this. Building ships is not gonna feature. You can keep it at some form of rapid disassembly system So master and slave system? Check. May be better named as Master AI, since Colonialism is unlikely to be the Unity's primary mission. 6 points, as opposed to 3 per session.

1 Why is an old man's farm in Texas like the focus of a lens outdoors? 2 What shape is a kiss? 3 My first is found in every country of the globe; my second is what we all should be; my whole is the same as my first. 4 Add half a score to nothing and what animal do you have? 5 "You see," said Mrs. James, "Paddy is now one and one-third as old as he was when he took to drink, and little Timmy, who was forty months old when Paddy took to drink, is now two years more than half as old as I was when Paddy took to drink. So, when little Timmy is as old as Paddy was when he took to drink, our three ages combined will amount to just 100 years." How old is Timmy? (In years and/or days. To within 10 days. Not counting leapyears.) 6 No more stars. (Anagram. Clue: Space) 7 Monster flies, I hear. (Anagram. David Bowie song 8 gebo tev e cwaack cegn (Cryptogram: gsatkb ussyk=Mother Goose) 9 mkr ideerqruhr nrmsrru mkr ozgcym qdakm scqi oui mkr qdakm scqi dy mkr ideerqruhr nrmsrru mkr zdakmudua nja oui mkr zdakmudua (Cryptogram: goqb msodu=Mark Twain) 10 Spell one word using all the letters in 'O, Stranger, I pine." 11 Using 1 vowel, (as many times as you like), make a proper sentence from "RTHDXXFRDDNSDNTKNWLDPRTFRMLGWD" 12 A small merchant in canton brought an equal number of fat puppies and rats, an equal number of each, paying 2 bits for each of the puppy dogs, and two bits for a pair of rats. He sold them at an advance of 10%. When he had disposed of all but seven he had recieved the amount of his first outlay, so his profit was represented by these seven animals. What are the seven animals worth at retail? Being the only person to solve a specific puzzle nets 1 merit. Solving 3 puzzles nets 1 merit. Solving 6 puzzles nets 1 merit. Solving 9 puzzles nets 1 merit. Solving all 12 puzzles nets 2 merits. (total of 5) Solve a hidden puzzle nets 2 merits. 1 merit may be given, disgressionally, for working out, if deemed sufficently genius level. Puzzles will be reset next Friday/Saturday. PM me the answers. Messages in thread will be ignored by me and seen by other people.

Seems fine. Either I would like a summery of what benefits you expect from each tech, or you can do it ad hoc when you upgrade.

There were nights were he took a deal more rum and water than his head would carry, and then he would sometimes sit and sing his wild old sea-songs, minding nobody, but sometimes he would call for glasses round and force the trembling company to listen to his stories, or bare chorus to his singing. Often I have heard the house shaking with Yo ho ho and a Bottle of Rum, all the neighbours joining in for dear life, with the fear of death upon them, each singing louder than the other to avoid remark, for in these fits he was the most overriding companion ever known, he would slap his hand on the table for silence all around, he would fly up in a passion of anger to question, or sometimes because none were put and so he judged the company was not following his story, nor would he allow anyone to leave the pub, till he had drunk himself sleepy and reeled off to bed. I remember his bright and dark eyes, and the pleasant manners, made with the cultish country folk, and above all, with that filthy, heavy, bleared scarecrow of a pirate sitting fargone on rum, with his arms on the table, suddenly he...and the captain that is, began to pipe up with his eternal song.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzcv5TJkJBA&feature=related

The first hour-two will be Q&A, and character stuff. (Also ship design) After that we will be doing a normal session. So, mission information: This was not how it was meant to be...You were not meant to be sent up in the Unity, you were the backup crew...something that existed on paper to satisify a trifling commitee on one thing, or another... But now, now, as you sit in the small room, watching the Infamous-Would be-Captain Nero shouting the odds with a tired looking UN official, who's name might very well have been spelled out by a bowl of alphabet soup thrown at a wall, you think to yourself...I really need the bathroom. Finally, Nero headbutts the official, who falls to the ground in a bloody mess. He then opens his wallet, throws a few Terran Dollars on his chest, then he turns, facing all of you, and draws his finger across his neck, smiling. Then, charateristically he gets out a smoke, and lights it as he goes into the corridor. While you all sit in your seats, you hear a russling. As you look over you see Zeitark, he is casually opening an envelope, marked with a large Union Jack. He notices you looking, smiles slightly, and remarks 'Didn't you get one of these?' It takes you a moment, but then you remember that you did, and you fish it out of your pocket, ready for reading. Agent, As you are aware the Unity Space Mission has been pushed ahead following the unexplained wormhole/stargate/magic glowy portal thing, that has appeared in orbit of Earth. The UN has decreed that only the Unity may investigate, and so that means you will need to go through, scan, communicate or hack whatever the hell is in there. It should be obvious that everyone else will have the same objective, so your secondary objective will be ensuring that no one else gets hold of the data...or if they do, they don't get the chance to transmit it back to their home country. Command Mission summery: Objective(s): Take adequate scans of the portal, and report your findings to command.(1 Merit) Investigate the area within the portal, and report your findings to command. (1 Merit) Safely exit the anomoly. (1 Merit) Salvage something useful from within the anomoly. (Multiple, Variable Merit) Ensure your country has the highest proportion of salvaged item. (5 merits) Destroy any/all hostile presence. (5 Merits) Failure Criteria: Not scanning the anomoly at all before entering. (-1 Merit) Failure to report to command. (-10 Merits) Dying during the mission. (Multiple, -1 Merit) Bring back something Hazardous (Multiple, -2 Merits) Not be in the top two salvage countries (-3 Merits) Information: You can't lose spent merits, and you can only spend merits at the disgression of the moderator. If you go below 0 merits then your merit total will be reset next session. (Aka, if you majorly screw up, you won't be penalised FOREVER) Unspent merits DO carry over. 10 merits = 1 standard upgrade (Maybe double, triple or higher for player created upgrades) If you are buying ship items, use the price guide figures, divided by 100. In my natural quest of one upmanship with Dusty, we now have three sessions  First session is Everyone except Paul session. Second session is the Dungeonal-Spork-Archi session. Third session is Paul-Dusty-Archi, Session. Second session features Dungeonal as the soon to be empress of India, Archi as the economic powerhouse-Morrocco-and sidekick to the Glorious Spork of Castille. Third session features Paul as the Algerian Candidate, and Dusty as the late comer, Yeman...and the economic and naval great power-Morrocco.
-
That was the plan.

Session starting in 2 hours 15 minutes(Turns out I am here) (This is 9pm in Britain) Get Hamachi open Get EU3 open: Join: 5.18.89.201 We are gonna be playing from ground zero...again. No, this is not a replacement for Dusty's Game, merely an alternative because Stork wants to play, I screwed up...and Dusty isn't here and Dungeonal wants to play =P Message me if you arrive late and we will rehost to allow you in.
-
Sure Nex, not sure how often I will be on (Its kind of one of those games that can be fun, but can also be deathly boring)
-
Sigh. Why do you need to make a seperate colony? Yeah, when we built the wall and then discovered we couldn't make extra keys, that was a fairly good reason to leave...but most people had left long before then, setting up colonies in random locations, for no real reason. Also, you got a lot of seeds from us.
-
You should be gaining enough merits for 1 new upgrade in a single successful session.
-
You will probably get merits for repairing another ship, or something...since it is helpful to whatever country/faction. Or merits from selling a completed ship back (You can't use another ship so...) Building a new ship, from scratch, would be impossible. Drones will be like they used to be...Semi-Intelligent and persistantly working to kill humans and destroy objects, overwhich a thin veil of protocols prevents from from doing so directly.

Strangely true of society as well  Same counterargument as well 'I have to cheat the system because otherwise the system cheats me out of what I am entitled to.' At any rate, two ideas: 1) Generate some preset characters, as everyone bar Retech is sick of creating characters. 2) Give people two days to generate a character that isn't powergamey, and anyone who fails that gets a preset/shown the door.
-
I like playing. Two things that screw it up 'I am going to to start my own colony, and I am taking your stuff with me' and waiting for the colony to be built/seeds to dry...ect...ect.
-
Yeah Stork. Was gonna carry on playing as them, but fixing their economy will be a nightmare, and if people help then it all collapses anyone, people are annoyed.
-
You can choose who gets the tech. However, abstract concept, so if you phone up Russia and say 'I have some tech for you...for the right price' they will laugh in your face. Yes Personal Upgrades are brough with Merits. The technology to make the upgrades is brought with puzzles/3 a session Tech points.
-
Then your character will be pretty screwed as to developing. Yes and no. You will have a personal tech tree, upgrading your character (And you can design that yourself, if you want, though I will balance it). But the tech itself will belong to someone else...
-
Nothing, intrinsically, seperates a chaotic evil human from a lawful good human. However good roleplaying demands there be a difference. Natural reach 0: Two things. First, Retech's plan relies on not being seen in the first place. Can't shoot what you can't see. Second, if you stood 5 feet back, you get a smaller field of vision, but would be immune to AoA's from outside. My sentiments exactly. I agree...Otherwise you could have a diminutive swarm of thundershot bullets, all doing rather large amounts of damage. Kinda true of all ranged weapons.
-
And Japan was born into a baptism of fire. No...seriously, merchants getting killed, uprisings everywhere...Should be fun.
-
Yeah, only person not ready is you...GET A MOVE ON!
-
Indeed. Going out on a personal mining mission will not yield anything terribly useful. The Unity is not designed as a bulk transport/mining ship, so filling the cargo bay produces less material than is consumed getting it back to base for processing...ect...ect.
-
Lynx, then you will need to provide more information...
