  1. aaahhh Tiddles ... my old mining buddy from rsc who cut his teeth on mining da copper at East Varrock and when runite was +50k ea :P :P and evading pkers with a full load using every trick in the book was more fun than an evening with Jessica Simpson
  2. Duh!...what about the xp cap. That's been around a lot longer than the gp cap. My first thought is that I don't see Merchandising on the skill list.... and considering that autoers are significant contributors to wealth accumulation, I really can't see that as a major priority. Up the XP cap I say!!!
  3. Yep...rsc was a gem. I was never a moaner when rs2 came out, and I have run with it ever since. But ...rsc, is appropriately named classic ... because it is a classic. And I agree, very hard to explain unless you were in on it ...something to do with it's honest simplicity. We were all grateful with what we had, that we didn't expect or beg for updates or more ...it was free, and generally reliable ...you were able to make real friends. the community was smaller ... your reputation was important, it didn't matter how you gathered that rep ... as a savvy trader, feared pker, high skill miner or smither, even your knowledge base was respected.... networking was easier to form and became very important as many players had really only played long enough to develop high levels in a few skills. I guess if I started in RS now and really enjoyed it, maybe in about 3 years from now, I might look back and say.."wow, wish we could go back to RS in 2006". However , times have moved on ... but RSC was a gem.
  4. ...just beautiful...I like the way you keep building the stats up. Most people probably get bored early on, but then you slap us in the face with some real hardcore stats
  5. Following you around for 20 mins  ... I can barely stand it for 20 seconds before I'm outta there.
  6. Hmmm... a lot of good points, and very well written. Sometimes I struggle to find the differences between addiction, compulsion and passion...don't want to go too deep here, but interesting thoughts thx :P
  7. ...crying like a baby when you've died and later accusing anyone around for "stealing their stuff".... as the saying goes...IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT IN THE KITCHEN...THEN GET OUT. oh, and another unwritten rule .... Luva's always right 8)
  8. I'm sure there are heaps of 40+ players. I personally have quite a few over the 40 and 50 mark on my friends list. Why do I think there are heaps? ... because it is a game that can be played at the pace you dictate it to be, and it is a diversion from rl that you can fit into any daily schedule. RS draws on a lot of themes in its gameplay catering to a wide range of ages...there are a lot of adult themes included. The opportunities for role playing extends way beyond pking and such, with longevity in the game and gradual building of skill levels requiring patience and resolve ... all appealing to "older" players. What I have also found is that many 40+ players usually have children that play as well, and I can only see that as being healthy. Personally, I'd really love to see a massive increase of "older players", and  i guess Jagex would too.
  9. Is it just me, or do 'Addicted...' threads have the worst grammar and spelling imaginable...I guess the answer lies within.
  10. I can't see RS3 happening for at least 2 years .... the good 'ol classic rscapers bayed for blood when rs2 came out, but since then rs has skyrocketed ...the number of full servers are multiplying, heck when I logged on a while ago there were over 150k ppl online...I'm sure its way above Jagex's expectations, and perhaps that has changed their focus a bit....heck if it was my business, I know I would 8) 8)
  11. my gf has this cute lil french accent...and she sounds like ..."ah oui ...hard on you" 8)
  12. wow..interesting...especially Eliisgood....there are also so many themes in RS that i find encouraging, and even though there is magic overtones, prayer also has its place, and I find the rendition of churches and places of prayer quite realistic. Having played for a few years, I've kind of appreciated some real qualities in the game and sometimes I've wondered whether there's some real educational skills gleaned from the game...such as, dealing in a real interactive economy and being able to merchant and be involved in a 24/7 business environment...developing inter-personal and networking skills, as well as socialising and meeting people from all over the world... even being involved in clan organisations requires alot of discipline and committment ...but hey, it depends on the type of person you are...and if in irl you are like that, then I can't see how rs can hurt you if you've got you size 13 feet firmly planted on terra firma!
  13. lol...once a noob, always a noob, but hey bro, the game is getting so many "add-ons", that if I'm away for a while or don't follow though an update I have no idea what is happening... but yeah, noobish is still an endearing quality
  14. lol archimage ...lets forget about gender disorientation, I'm concerned about what planet you're habitating
  15. Do you think I could change gender with my name? .. I do know some girls in rl who can chug beer with the best of them   But nah, I'm happy with my rugged mountain man looks ... but I do take issue when I sometimes wear a plated skirt showing my hairy muscled legs ......... ...FOR HEAVEN SAKES MAN ...IT'S A FREAKING KILT ... NOT A SKIRT!!!!
