  1. It still is a gimmick because develpers just slap together a pile of crap and call it a game without even putting the touch screen to good use. The same thing will happen with the Revolution. They are both great ideas but aren't (and probably won't) be realized to their full potential. All that I'm saying is to not get your hopes up. The DS is different because you can really use it to enhance the current games. With the Rev's remote, you can. It's that simple. Also, nice signature. You'll know how wrong you were in a few years. Can you say VIRTUAL BOY?!?
  2. Well now people without friends can find out what 2 player is like.

  4. Nintendo is aiming for everyone here. Everyone. People who look at a regular gamepad will dismiss it saying "Oh, I don't play videogames". But when they checkout this controller, they will think it's a remote or something and grab it and examine it a little closer. They already have a TV. Why would they need another remote?
  5. Buwahahahaha. I can quote you and make fun now. What would you say that they unleashed the new controller, Mr Sony Fanboy? Btw, I hate Sony. Do not EVER call me a Sony fanboy!!! My inner fanboy lies with Team Ninja. The controller will do nothing special for the FPS genre. It would be like having a light-gun with the ability to move around. Nothing special when it comes to innovating the FPS. But I would love to see a game where you could control the movement of a sword through using the remote. I think it is a gimmick. It does HAVE potential but third party develpers will never use the potential (how many super-innovative third party titles do you see on the DS). Once again, Nintendo is making a system that will mostly be supported by Nintendo and have no third party support.
  6. -The biggest, most awesome looking boss in a game would probably be the Vigoorian Emporer from Ninja Gaiden. That thing was HUGE (in its first form) -The hardest boss would probably be Ishtaros from Ninja Gaiden.
  7. I actually think the Xbox360 is going to fail just like the Dreamcast. The 360 is a "bridge" from this gen to the next gen. Look at the Dreamcast. It had games that looked as good (or better) than PS2 launch titles. The problem was that Sony stepped up in other technologies (built in DVD player and a DVD format for games). The 360 is going to flop the exact same way. They haven't stepped up in other technologies other than graphics (Just like the Dreamcast). The PS3 is stepping up in technologies by using the Blu-Ray format. Sony will also use the "Me Too" approach just like they did with the Dreamcast and DS(well it's still putting up a fight showing that the strategy isn't flawless). Sony always shows up late and uses this strategy to win. Example: Timmy and Johny are best friends. One day, the Dreamcast comes out and Timmy gets one. Naturally, Johny is jealous but has to wait until he has the money. Eventually he just ends up waiting for the PS2. Johny shows up a Timmy's house with a new, sleeker, superior PS2. Now Timmy disregards his Dreamcast and begs his mother to get him a PS2, giving Sony total dominance in the end of that war. This strategy was also used with the DS and is now going to be put to work against the 360. The only "safe bet" in the next console war seems to be the PS3. But for some reason, I feel that there is something that Sony is hiding that might make it a less appealing product. Regarding the Revolution: They seem to banking on the idea of a new, revolutionary controller that is going to change the world of gaming (be prepared to be underwhelmed by a controller that is just a gimmick that lacks any inovation) and using old Nintendo titles instead of focusing on good next generation games.
  8. No comment... RE5 also going to be released on the 360. MGS4.....I have no insults.........yet......
  9. So this basically went from a next-gen discussion to a FF discussion.
  10. You're mistaken. Though Commandant needs to stop putting things down, FF10 is far from a good looking game. The enviroments are bland and lack detail and the characters don't look that great. The only good looking parts were the CG cutscenes.

  15. for...? Till all the Nintendo fanboys burst with joy. 4 days, 1 hour, 50 minutes and 20 seconds to be exact. Nintendo revolution comes out? i thought that wasnt for awhile? Or is it the gameboy micro? Or some game? He's talking about TGS (Tokyo Game Show). TGS is like E3 in Japan, but isn't as well-known. Nintendo is going to release new information about the Revolution during it. [Off Topic]NINJA GAIDEN: BLACK IS COMING OUT TOMMOROW!!![/Off Topic]
  16. That was the most beautiful thing that I have ever heard. I almost cried.
  17. Thx for reminding me about TGS. I almost forgot.
  18. What I meant is, that GTA3 is pretty boring when you're with multiple people, I mean, sure it's fun when you mug that old lady one time with your mates, but if you do it 30 times per hour it does get a little boring. With Mario Kart you a much higher fun element. You invite some mates, grab a crate of beer, order pizza and you start gaming. Every game is different and you'll have a great laugh when you blast another shield on your mates or w/e, and same with Smash Brothers or Mario Party, it entertained me an my mates on some pretty long nights. :) Same with Goldenye or Mario Tennis and a lot of others. :) Agreed. Here's what each company dominates in the gaming industry (IMO): Nintendo: Kid Games and Party Games (Best First Party developer IMO) M$: Online and FPS. Sony: Does everything well (Exept FPS), they just don't dominate anything exept sales.
  19. *sigh* No comment. By the way, the PS3 is going to be at least $400. That's my guess. Merill Lynch estimated the cost of the PS3 at $500. Game retailers are taking preorders for the system at $800!!! I doubt it will be that much though because if I'm buying a system for twice as much as a 360, I expect it to be two times as good. Therefore, they will probably put it in the $500 area like you said. But who knows, Sony is insane if they make it that low because they will lose a ton of money (in the $20,000,000,000 area). About the Revolution: I was just trying to piss off the Nintendo fanboys. I honestly don't know much about the system exept for the fact that you can download classic Nintendo games and that they are planning to do something "revolutionary" with the controller (my guess is a touch screen controller but the games would feel less responsive without the feedback given to you with buttons and thumbsticks). I will probably buy this system as a secondary system because I love the SNES..........Sexually. Again I apologise for jumping the gun with the comments regarding the Revolution.
  20. Gamertag in my sig...
  21. Well somebody hasn't done his homework. 360: Vast online improvments (video chat, marketplace, gambling REAL money), fully HD compatable with every game. PS3: Able to run Linux, ability to hook up 2 HDTVs to the system at once, 7 controllers, Blu-Ray disc format. Revolution: Backwards compatibility (WOW, Sony and Microsoft are doing that too!!!), Online play (Even the Dreamcast did that). Btw, the power of a system isn't just used for graphics. It is also used for A.I., physics, ect. If you want to discuss a lack of inovation, look at the Revolution. Then again, I haven't seen the controller yet. KOTOR Jade Empire Fable Can you say "pre-rendered fake created by Sony to manipulate the mind of the average consumer"? And as with all home work, one must sight their sources, as so the reader can know where it came from. Tell us where you are getting all this information. And dont take what ever yo hear on tv shows, i doubt that most of it is true. BTW, this topic is really uneeded. OF COURSE THIS IS THE NEXT GENERATION!!! These are the new sets of systems, therefor the next generation! Now just wait about 3 months and we can find out how good xbox 360 really is. I'll look for links (I don't trust the TV).
  22. Actually, they ALWAYS do! Just ignore the Nintendo fanboys. They're just jealous because their next system is only as powerful as the GC. Andrew, your making so many good points with this I was going to post about these guys but you beat me to it.. well.. keep smackin the hell outa them their morons and will never know what their talking about..anyways.... Killzone 2.....first 1 blew... second 1.... might be good but wont look as good as their making it look...trust me.. Sony wants to rule the world and you actually believe their lies? EA and Sony are going to combine and create a super company to take over Earth ADAM!!!! Btw, Sony plans to enslave the Earth through creating the Matrix. Ken Kutaragi said it will require a chip 1000x more powerful than the PS2 chip (I'll look for a link).

  25. I think this next generation is just going to be a complete screw-up. 360=Doesn't really seem next-gen PS3=Ton of money (runs on 2 $500 dollar graphics cards, $100 blu-ray drive, cell processor, ect.), no "real" games (everything you have seen is just pre-rendered CG created by Sony to fool the average consumer into buying the system. Revolution=Basically just a Gamecube with online play and the ability to download classic Nintendo games (big whoop) As far as I'm concerned, I'm just going to wait and see what happens. Whatever system Team Ninja announces Ninja Gaiden 2 being developed for, I'm buying.
