  1. Oooh. This modification looks promising. Hide Zero Poster Forces users to make one post before they show up in the memberlist, groups, as the newest user and contribute to the member count.
  2. Thanks for the compliment. I have no idea how the function/visibility would work at this point. Another board I frequent has it as part of the user profile, but not visible alongside posts on the general boards. I'd have to do some research to see how phpBB allows for it and how it would integrate with the access levels/reporting mechanism.
  3. Hmm... Maybe a way to help with this concept is to have a count for "Reports" (number of times the user has been reported for bad threads/posts). Spam posts (among other things) are reported all the time. Perhaps if the report number was published...these people would think twice about posting nonsense.
  4. Can you get to this page without getting the BSOD? http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_xpi.jsp
  5. Bank screenshot added to initial post. Miscellania Seed Nest Count: 8 total including... - 3 Apple - 2 Acorn & Orange - 1 Banana
  6. I'm happy with my Dell 1905FP. I do run with high res, but the lower settings have good quality too. I hope you find what you are looking for.
  7. To start, I'd be sure I have all the current Windows updates. Go here: http://update.microsoft.com/ Secondly, I'd be sure I have all the current Java Software. Go here: http://www.java.com/en/ Try those out. Keep posting about your progress.
  8. Thanks for asking. "Ard Choille" (the wooded height or high wood) is the war cry of clan Gregor. The Gaelic pronunciation of Choille is khull-yuh.
  9. I just have to say Albosky... YOU ROCK!!! Thanks!
  10. Thanks for posting!!! Not much playtime today. I did another test on the stethoscope, further disproving Jagex's statment that the scope needs to be used on safes (at least at level 85 Thieving). Miscellania Seed Nest Count: 8 total including... - 2 Curry - 1 Maple, Willow, Acorn, Apple, Banana and OrangeOh...223 ground nests banked too.
  11. I ran some tests on thieving the safes in Rogues Den today while I stole the last of the gems I needed for my craft level. As it turns out, at level 85 Thieving, using the stethoscope is counterproductive. I got much better results just having it in my inventory and cracking the safes.
  12. I haven't played since last Thursday, so I had a bunch of Miscellania loot to collect and coffers to fill. Here's the tally... Miscellania Resources: Miscellania Seed Nest Count:
  13. The initial post for this thread has been revamped. Check it out.
  14. I downloaded Terragen last night. I hope to play with it after the busy weekend. Any tips on getting started using it are welcome.
  15. If you want to start designing your own graphics, I recommend downloading The GIMP. It's a free graphics program with excellent functionality to get you started with graphics design. Check out The Gallery to see what others are designing and to post your creations. If you areSearching for an Image Artist... Look here. Have fun!
  16. Miscellania Seed Nest Count: 7 total including... - 2 Willow & Acorn - 1 Pineapple, Apple and OrangeHere's my current tree-seed stash after having planted two Yews, two Maples, one Papaya, one Pineapple and one Curry. I need to collect the goods for my next crafting level, hopefully tonight.
  17. Most Internet Service Providers set you up with a dynamic IP address that is released/renewed on a regular basis. If you have a router between your pc and your modem, it also has an IP address which is usually the one an external site will see if you are behind a firewall protecting your PC IP. To find out your PCs IP, go to your command prompt (Go to Start -> Run -> type cmd -> click OK or press [Enter[) then type ipconfig at the command line. For more details, type ipconfig /all.
  18. Love to camp the metals and monstersfor the high-end drops? Post your loot here. Have fun!
  19. From a usability standpoint, the memberlist in it's current configuration is pointless as it provides zero functionality. It is impossible to find anyone by clicking through page-by-page. Some players visit this forum and are not certain whether they have created an id or not. For them (or another user) to be able to search would help reduce the number of multiple/inactive users. Not all users have posted, which makes the Search for Author irrelevant in many cases. ----------------------------- My suggestion is to essentially keep the memberlist in it's entirety out of sight and replace it with a new landing page. Let users search by drilling into it by alpha selection and/or search. Here's a punch list: 1. Rename the "Memberlist" link to "Search Memberlist" 2. Create a new Search Memberlist landing page that provides search options 1 & 2b. Alternatively, remove the Memberlist link (and user access to the ginormous list) altogether and add the search features to the existing Search page. * On the landing/search page, create an "A to Z" linklist by letter for users to jump to the member list by alpha choice * On the landing/search page, create a "Search for Member" option for users to key a name or wildcard text Thanks for playin'
  20. Heya Lego... lemme see if I can get in all your answers: * I keep my coffers to one million. * I try to check my kingdom daily, although they will keep working. As your coffer total and popularity drops, so does the return. * I believe my average daily nest count was 8 when I had full bar on maples.---------------------------------- Slayer is now level 73.
  21. Two things: Make sure you have the most recent version of Firefox. Also, be sure you have all the necessary Plugins.
  22. I realize this is a different scenario. But I'll share it to point out that in many cases, the problem is easily fixed. The long and the short of it is...if you keep your anti-virus program running and run FULL system scans (anti-virus, spyware, adware) at least weekly, these things will be RARE. Pay attention to odd behavior when you are browsing, stop everything and run a scan if something questionable happens. -------------------------------- On three separate occasions, clicking "Play" using the Windows Client available on the RuneScape site has executed Trojan.ByteVerify. When I click the play button, it triggers a full-sized white window which requires that I "end task" to close the barrage of nonsense that pops up. (Classic example of odd behavior) Of course, I immediately run NAV to find the problem. In all three cases, Trojan.ByteVerify was found in up to five files in the Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar folder and were fixed instantly by NAV. I hope yours is as easily fixed as mine have been.
  23. Does your monitor show anything when it is NOT plugged into the PC, but is turned on and powered up? It's my understanding that most will show some sort of "check signal/no signal" message. If you don't get anything, and your power cord is removable...try another. If not your monitor is the problem. If the monitor does fire up, check the cable that connects to your PC. Make sure none of the pins on any of the connectors are bent. Try another cord, if yours isn't hardwired to your monitor and you have a spare, that is. Good luck!
  24. To start, go to your Control Panel and double check the Advanced tab of your Internet Settings. Make sure that "Play sounds in web pages" is checked. See if that does the trick.
  25. Well, I have this fancy armor that a friend gave me, so I'll be going in with melee. ------------------------------- Miscellania Seed Nest Count: 12 total including... - 3 Willow, Banana & Apple - 2 Palm - 1 Acorn
