  2. lol.. just learn to adjust ur shutter speed to anything faster that 1/500th of a second... but best is 1/1000 or around there... just press the button when u have to, use the view finder, NOT the LCD screen if there is one, there is a slight delay.
  3. Yes, I plan on buying some glass/torches etc. for making glass beads/pipes ;) we went to a workshop at the competition and now im inspired to work glass. Glass is so much fun! Especially when put in a kiln. Kiln = spendyyyy we just made beads... mine sucked but hey, it was my first time. and right now i have alot of friend who are into hemp/glass bead necklaces. so if i could make 6-8 beads a rod, (a rod costs about 2-3$ each) i could sell the beads for 2-3$ each and keep building money and expand my supplies. heres a pic a couple are cracked, i was forced to cool them down fast because i had to go somewhere
  4. it does take a few tries.. i was using a 1/500 second and 1/1000 second shutter speed, with a 400 iso film. alot of those cameras now a days have delayed shutters.. you click and a second later it snaps the pic, where as with Film, and digital SLRs its instant. I probably captured 1 out of 5 or 6 but that one shot its defined as perfect/near perfect in composition and lighting etc. AND the move/trick itself.

  6. ha, yes.. i Googled it, kind of looks like the monkey in a way. I was at an art competition today and I got the best rating there for the drawing category.. I guess I get a medal sent to me or something :P Also Going to the state competition in Minnesota with this skateboard photo (not exact same one, I'm using the un-cropped 16x12 inch print http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/53644366/ )
  7. Yeah, thanks for the crits. if u look at the reference her nose is kinda screwy in the first place... no offense to her, shes pretty.. but her nose it just screwy. The shape itself, and the angle of the face. Also i have an offer to sell it by a girl from school. she says she'd pay $150 for it.. but i have 2 other people interested in it, and im going to see there offers as well. (i did ask her if she wanted me to try to put in a nose again, she said it didnt matter) i thought about putting a slight blush on the cheeks.. but i don't know
  8. different lighting situations + adding more white paint, and clear coat/varnish. Also, the varnish with quite fresh, being sprayed about 15min prior. eh.. i dunno if asymmetrical is the word. they may be a little flat looking in the photo but in person they pop and catch the eye alot more. I plan on borrowing a friends camera soon and updating all my pictures with better quality, as my current ones have been taken with a 2 mega-pixel Kodak :uhh: I tried drawing on paper and holding it straight up to it and i couldnt get it, the angle its at makes its very difficult... if you want bring it into paint and draw a line where u think it should be. go for it.
  9. done... i think.. i needs REAL crits on this think please.. no "good/bad" simple stuff.. say why.
  10. someone needs to clean the latrine, and keep a healthy supply of bathroom tissue. Start grinding that palm tree pulp into paperrrr :P
  11. yeah.. im in the progress of fixing that... uuugh i cant get this nose, i think i might add "blush" to her cheeks and call it..
  12. Terley's hand? ;P i think he mistook you for terley, i do as well sometimes... your display pics are kinda alike.. u really have to look at the name to know :P
  13. Well said, i like this style as well.. you should try doing it on glossy paper (careful not to smudge) it looks very nice. if you do. you may like my new drawing i did :P http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=649093 Black/white based... creepy feeling.

  17. i know i said i wasnt going to do a portrait again, for a while.. but hell might as well... Acrylic and spray paint 12x34 stretch canvas Reference = http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/48060678/ im going to stick to the black/white and have her lips red, and eyes another color, likely green/blue, or red. Im calling it done as of now.. unless i feel compelled to add a nose, or facial detail.. this is COMPLETE. I hate noses... with a passion.
  18. Note: i darken the image to try and maintain the what it looks like in person 4-29 - 4-30 this isn't the final piece, im doing this one for a competition in.. 2 days *going to blend more* my scanner wont fit it all :[ boo hoo... im not done yet.. :P Done - Note: i sprayed with fixative so ignore the corners, i have "braces" set so it doesn't curl. heres a scanned version which u cant see it all cuz my scanner isn't that big :S :P 4-28 i have no idea what i was doing... the left image = original the right image = turned 180 degrees. i think they convey different emotions.. but whatever.. enjoy
  19. lol, * goes to check DA* "I spent about 4-5 hours per portrait." 4hr x 5 portrait = 20 hr 5 hr x 5 portrait = 25 hr. not sure where u got 16... although u got me on the 30.. lol :-k 30 includes slack time.. :P and sketching.. haha *excuses*
