  1. Actually, a good typist doesn't think of each letter they're typing. You learn patterns for each word. So when it comes time to type "people" your fingers do the little dance that will create that word. If you typed everything by just remembering one letter at a time you'd be really slow... So it's important to practice typing the full word. However, I do agree that it's not a school's job to test you on typing or make you a better typist... If you want to type slow, it's your business. If you want to be fast, go nuts. You're not all training to be secretaries, much agreed. Yes, but it would be nice if people knew it was NOT pronounced "skimitar" but "simitar"... the 'c' is silent... http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/scimitar inÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâ÷tracÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâ÷taÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâ÷ble 1. not easily controlled or directed; not docile or manageable; stubborn; obstinate: an intractable disposition. 2. (of things) hard to shape or work with: an intractable metal. 3. hard to treat, relieve, or cure: the intractable pain in his leg. I really hope that your screen isn't intractable...

  3. Definitely a valid point. My only rebutle is that Jagex had a personal interest in creating that update. It was apparent by the level of hacked accounts that all players needed to be exposed, in an enticing and interesting manner, to ideas concerning account security. Bank space, however, is not something people so much need as want. However, having been f2p for quite some time, I agree the space is pitiful. However, as Jagex does not yet have a vested interest in adding bank space, it's still unlikely in my opinion. Even after the SoS update, after new items had been added to f2p, no new bank space was awarded. It angers me and depresses me on some level that Jagex would not address this, but they didn't. They're like abusive parents whom we go back to again and again with eyes full of love, and they consistently mistreat us. However, the community keeps me going, and I love talking with all you people ^_^
  4. I believe people misunderstood my post. Jagex has stated that F2P is a demo to lead people to buy membership. This is a fact, and possibly an unfortunate one. As stated, there are a large number of influential F2P players out there, and even without F2P superstars the backbone that a large number of free players who mine and sell ore, chop and sell logs, etc. would effect the economy. However, I don't believe for a second that any of these free players would quit due to not getting more bank space. They all still play with the bank as it is now. This is not an incentive for Jagex to do a bank update. Do I support them doing one? I haven't stated as I haven't decided. I would never believe it to be a bad thing, though. I was a free player for more time than I've been a member. My post was simply pointing out the extreme unlikeliness of this occurring, however as my last sentence said... I do still wish you the best of luck, always pursue your dreams. However, your hopes should remain sensibly low.
  5. In my opinion there are really three major types of clans these days: pure clans, PK clans, and community clans. The pure clans concentrate on a niche style of leveling and pking, keeping their combat level low but certain combat related skills relatively high. Often the type of people who pursue a goal of creating a character who essentially is only able to fight, and can't much enjoy the vast majority of the rest of the Runescape game, are the sort of bullying and low class idiot that many of us come to loathe. Of course there are exceptions to this rule, and I applaud those who are above the petty slings and arrows, but we must agree the greater percentage of pure clans maintain an ill demeanor. The PK clans make up the majority of Runescape clans. They do have some level of community, but most of all they want to get their combat as high as possible and "pwn" the wilderness. This includes 'THE,' DI, DS, Corr, Gladz, etc. These are not community clans, which I will discuss later. They have community, but their focus is PKing. The major names referenced are often somewhat respectable and do show a higher level of civility in non-wilderness interaction, however the largest percentage of PK clans, I find, do not often differ greatly from pure clans in their attitude and actions toward other players. They sling insults and whine in great abundance. Of course, I suppose this is just typical of those at the average age of a Runescape player, but really that would be unfair to say. There are many in the lower age bracket who are far more respectable than those in even the highest age bracket. What makes the PK clans so obnoxious is that those who pursue power through strength often come off as very immature. Community clans make up the smallest percentage of Runescape clans lately. To be honest, I would like to say it's a shame, but it's somewhat the nature of this clan type. There are two types of community clan, the massive and the small, although recently there are a few of the smaller ones coming to fill out a middle class of community clan. Essentially, though, they are all very similar. The aim is to enjoy ALL the aspects of Runescape. They do not only PK, and often PK far less than the other activities they participate in. They have skilling competitions, they help eachother train both combat and non-combat, they create strange and inventive events, they support each other not just in PKing, but in all other realms of the game. In fact, many Community clan members are strongly against PKing, sometimes to a moral degree, and this is often what sets them apart from PKing clans. Although, due to their highly diverse nature, it's difficult to say all of them have this quality in some way or another. Now, just because they are not as heavy on PKing does not mean they do not have their power-hungry negative members. Wherever there are positions of leadership or competition in any manner, there will be those who take it too far or ruin the idea. So, the problem is not just with pure clans. It is with all of those who do not respect their fellow player and the mechanics of the game. I think we need to remind ourselves that truely that's all this is. It's a game. We're here to have fun and enjoy it in our own way, and if someone wants to get together with us and enjoy it that way too, well all the better. Clans form because we, as humans, need to be social. We need to bond over a common interest. Runescape is a wonderful outlet for that, and my experience as a clan leader has lead to some of the most enjoyable times in my life. It's such an odd thing to say about an online game, as I would say the majority of my quality life experiences are outside of the computing world, but it still holds true. I'm a skydiving instructor, I run cross country, and I am starting a web design firm. Yet, despite all these interests, Runescape still has one thing that many other things in life don't have... open doors. There are so many possibilities and people willing to support you in seeking out your goals that you press on and genuinely enjoy yourself. Let's try and highlight that fact and go have a good time.
  6. To be honest, the f2p version of RS is meant to serve as a demo in order for you to decide whether or not you want to pay to play (p2p) the full version. If you feel you like the game so much that you are collecting large amounts of items and have a great need for more bank space... pay the subscription fee. You've played the demo, now buy the game. Jagex isn't interested in making it perfectly desirable to stay a free player. You feel cramped with your bank space but love the game? The obvious solution, according to Jagex, is for you to buy members. It is not for them to accommodate you. Of course this is going to have a ton of supporters because everyone loves getting something for nothing. People want to play the free game because they either don't want to or can't pay for the full version. However, from a business standpoint, and Jagex is a business, it's just not practical or intelligent. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but the probability of getting any return on this investment, the petition and letters to Jagex, is slimmer than most other ideas I've seen. I do still wish you the best of luck, always pursue your dreams. However, your hopes should remain sensibly low.
  7. Yeah, I read your post and have to agree with quite a bit of it. Without flaming, I must say that TORC is really more of a low level, inexperienced clan for those players of Runescape who still need to cut their teeth. I'm sure it's a great experience for the newer people to the game, but TORC is really just an extension of the RuneHQ forums. It's not really a tight-knit, close-friends sort of clan that can fight well together. It's just younger people learning how to play the game and have fun. Really, though, having fun is all it's about, but we just shouldn't expect much more out of them. It's not an insult at all, it's just the way they do things.
  8. Clan name: Scarlet Empire Clan website: http://scarletempire.com Clan leaders: Antiaverage and Corruptmoral (Jennifer) F2p clan cape: Red P2p clan cape: Team-47 Number of Members: 105+ Average hitpoint and combat level: 83hp, 102cb Type of clan (skill or pk): Both
  9. We require both... Centurion | Senior Member | [95+ Combat] and 1200+ Overall P2P or 900+ Overall F2P Legionnaire | Junior Member | [80+ Combat] and one 80+ Skill or two 65+ Skills or 750+ Overall Skills for Legionnaire must be any F2P Non-Combat Skill or Herblore So which forum should we post in, or may we post in both?
  10. I am the leader of a medium-sized clan that does not concentrate on just Combat or just Skilling. Therefore, I have no clue which forum to place our advertisement. Here's our introduction so you can make a judgement: So where do we put our clan advertisement on the Tip.It forums?
