Have you not heard of someone who make a loss in their rare investment ? They got to sell when they urgently need money or for some stupid reasons. Now I call that poor money management or lousy investment.

I am not here to boast anything or showoff anything. Those who get a phat and hold on to it makes tons more then me. I am also not asking anyone to invest into rare and neglect all their skill training. I personally collect those mask sets while i was doing my smithing skill. Now I am the 3rd pure F2p smither in top 21 listing. But this again do not prove anything; anyone who spend enough time on this game can get that 19 mill smithing exp. But the trick is to get that 99 skill with limited time spent and limited resources available as a pure f2p and still end up with several mask sets siting in the bank. Detemination, forsight and having lots of friends do help in making it happen faster then most player. Nothing great compare to most P2p but do stand out abit among most f2p.

Monkey see, monkey do ...... Nobody force the any monkey to buy anything. Nobody ask any monkey to contribute any posting. One single monkey cannot never stop the world from turning. Investment is about taking some risk in exchange for a hopefully better return. Jadex could always change the rule to teach all the monkeys more tricks on investment.

99 smithing as a pure f2p This is a skill that command respect.

As the top 21 ranking smither in RS (still a pure f2p), I have to admit that smithing is not the best way to make money. I am at the mercy of runite and coal miners to sell me their ore and coal. However, smithing is surely one skill that command lots of respect; much more than mining. A piece of good advise for f2p smither, try to mine your some of the ore or you must be prepare to lose lots of money in this skill. A f2p 99 smither and 90 miner.

The last set i brought cost me 6.1 mill. Till now i have not got enough money to collect another new set. Is there really any other way to make money in RS other then investment in rare ? If you have 100 mill to spare into investment, will you buy a phat or a few mask set ?

I am a down to earth person although some might say i am greedy. I have miss the 'partyhat' investment boat but i accept the fact that I am not the early batch to play this game. During the early days of my game, I do not have the spare cash to invests into any phat. A big salute those who have the forsight to have invested into phat and are still holding on to them. Seems that new player to the game of rs might forever never have a chance to get a hand on such good investment. Sad ......

Purchase a mask set for about 2.4 mill two years back. Kept it in bank for 24 months and now it is worth about 10 time more without doing anything. Isn't it a good investment ? If i continue to keep it for another 2 years.. will it appreciate to 30 or 40 time more ? Isn't it a good piece of investment ? Rare are about the only good investment in RS Member items like trimmed amour (tradeable with f2p) and abby whip (p2p only) are no where near such great investment . Do you agree ?

If you do not believe in investing in rare, don't do it. Go after them only if you believe in it. It is not a life or death issue as those stupid rare are only for show off and is not neccessary for any skill training or quest.

I offen play sudoku or read my email or surf the net while doing combat training. Another lower lvl says that i am cheating as I am sort of 'away from keyboard' doing other things. I stick to the rules and i never cheat. Just think he is kind of stupid if he really log off every single sec his eye is away for the rs screen.

Rare are about the only good for investment in rs Invest into them with your spare cash If you can time the market and sell them at the right time, you win. If you have to sell them when you are urgently in need of money, good luck to you. Mask is prefered to phat as i see more potential in profit. I might be wrong but mask are more affordable to most player and reselling is much easier. I have played this game for 3 year and got 99 smithing. I have also managed to invest into 8 mask set. Not too bad for a pure f2p huh ?

last year when i comment that those non tradable items are a waste of Jadex time, i was shoot left right center. funny but now most forumer are positive on rare as a investment in this rare posting now ......

Anyone know the real reason why Jadex stop introducing more rare collection for after the mask set and santa ? Other then complaint from new player who dont get to pick one free at the launch, I personally think why it was stopped as it does not help to bring in more p2p members. Recent introduction of p2p trimmed amour are more likely to attract more p2p membership then those rare in the earlier years As a f2p, rare are about the only investment that will yield a good rate of return over a time. But i guess rare is also the only investment worth collecting for p2p members as well. Member items like abyss whip or sara amour are not likely to appreciate in price as a long term investment ; they will only appreciate in value if they are discontinued when their number stop growing.

I know of someone who has lots of account to store his rares as he account was hack once. So now split all the rare into many diff account to play safe. He got over 10 phat sets as far as i know

10 times to do before i quit Just in case i come back one day 1) set recovery questions 2) set bank pass 3) reset password 4) write down all the pass and question somewhere accessable just in case you want to come back 5) invest spare cash into something that is likely to appreaciate in value 6) set up another spare account to transfer some items into him just in case one account get hack 7) say goodbye to all friends on friend list 8) make sure you don't owe anyone anything 9) make sure you breakoff from your bf/gf relationship in rs 10) log off from a memorable place PS never give any spare gold to beggers Begging should be ban from rs

I am a lvl 99 smither and the most i ever had was about 15 mill. Never ever able to save more then 15 mill as I will invest into rare or more runite ore to up my smithing ranking. Rares are about the only items in rs that will appreaciate in value if you keep them in the bank for a while. I am a pure f2p in top 21 rs smither ranking.

I am a f2p with 99 smithing and 90 mining. If i mine 90 runite ore every week and smith them into 40 rune legs or any 3 bar ruinte items (assuming i mine the coal myself) and high alch them, i can produce about 1.1 mill extra money each week into rs economy. However, no smither of the right mind will high alch a rune leg for 38.4k when they can be sold for 45-50k to other players. Now when the number of new player start to slow down and the number of runite items become much more easily available (more 99 smither and more rock being introduced due to additional new worlds) Will rs economy collapse one day ? Will price of a 3 bar runite items come down to below 38.1k one day? (Less 300gp for a nature to high alch it)

Some stranger expect free items just because i am have good smithing skill. Or expect me to mine the runite ore for them for free Or they just supply the coal for a set of full rune. That is childish to me.

Some player are plain rude. Begging is also a very bad habit to have in rs or real life. Maybe a courtesy skill or campaign will do some good Do you agree ?
