  1. There are several key factors which go into deciding which note book would suit your needs the best. Because you are planning to take it to uni, I would suggest looking at the lighter, less bulky options, the more battery life the better. Go into the shop and play around with the models, if possible pick them up ect..... If you are planning to use it only for word processing, excel web broswings ect... specs are not of that much importance, even the cheap notebooks would do that with ease. If you are planning to play games.... then you would need to spend alot more, and in all honesty a laptop is not your best option. A budget desktop and budget laptop would be a better compromise... If you want to take it into lectures and use it to write notes.... DON,T! All you would achive is to annoy everyone with clicking, and would spend time playing games and watching movies instead of paying attention. Notebooks and lectures are not compatible. With regards to the brands, they are all of reasonable quality. Although I personally prefer ASUS and Ascer, in fact I wrote this on a cheap Asus notenook. If I had to choose a notebooks looking at the specs provided, I would choose the ASUS A45D or the ACER TM 254. But before you buy go down to the shop, and play around with them, check out build quality, battery life ect
  2. Population of New Zealand: 4,095,885 Population of Sheep: 39,255,000 People Sheep Ratio 1 : 9.6 So this is wrong, for every person there is 9 sheep, or for every 10 people there are 96 sheep. There are also 1.2 diary cattle for every person, and a similar amount of beef cattle. But only 0.4 deer (farmed) for every person. (Yeap I am bored)
  3. I disagree with the idea. Firstly I do not know why rare items should lose market "power". Secondarly, the idea has many flaws. The value of a item, is how much the player community places on it. The rare items increase in value for three main reasons. 1) They have a limited supply. 2) They hold their value against Inflation. 3) They have a 'status' for owning them. These three characteristics mean players value them. They often have a value above their current market worth. If Jagex starts buying them off players, a few things would happen. 1) Players would quickly realise what was going on and would hold off selling. Forcing Jagex to increase the prices even more. It would turn into an upwards spiral with players trying to force the prices Jagex offers ever higher. A few enterprising players might even buy up rare with the long term aim of holding them back from Jagex. 2) The GP gained for selling the hats would be exposed to inflationary pressure, so overtime the GP would decrease in relative value. Players invest in party hats, allowing them to increase in value. GP does not increase in value (Unless deflation occurs); In Runescape GP loses value due to inflation. 3) Same players simply would never sell to the MOD. They might not play anymore, they might just be too lazy to sell. The above reasons would mean that Jagex would never be able to buy them all back. If they want to remove them all they would have to force the transition to occur which would upset many loyal players, and I fail to see how it would improve the game. If you want to reduce the value of rare items... The solution is easy, give the players other areas to invest their money in, give players other places to spend their income (Eg money drains), allow GP to hold their worth. For every coin which enters the game, another coin should leave the game. To keep the value of the GP constant, Jagex could fix all prices. But, that removes the dynamics of the players market from the game, a aspect many players enjoy and profit from.
  4. There are dozens of computer stores in New Zealand, and most would probably give decent service and value. The first place to look at should be http://www.pricespy.co.nz A few specific stores. Low prices: Both of these stores have low prices (for NZ), particaly SuperCheapPC. http://www.c1computer.co.nz http://www.supercheappc.biz paradigm PC has a good range of products, and I particaly like the design of their website. From what I seen they have reasonable prices. http://www.pp.co.nz DragonPC is one of my all time favourite stores, they have a good range of products and had brought several items from them with no issues. They also gave me a free mouse :D http://www.dragonpc.co.nz Ascent is one of the more popular shops, suppose to have excellent customer service and they have a good range of hardware. Although, they are often on the more expensive side. http://www.ascent.co.nz Stylespc has a decent reputation and never had problems buying from them. Although, their prices can be expensive on same items. http://www.stylespc.com Seems to have a good range of stock. http://www.pctronix.co.nz
  5. The price of any items in runescape depends on a few things, the most important is the rate the item enters the game and the rate which they leave the game. If a item enters the game easily, they would not hold much worth above the high alch value. If there is a use for the item then it would be priced in-between similar items, people would not waste money if there is a better way to gain experience. With regards to Items like party hats, They would continue to increase in price, unless one of two things occur. The demand decreases, or the supply increases. In the past a flaw released several thousand extra hats into the economy, this quickly resulted in a reduction of price. Jagex was to slow in reacting so the hats reminded. Possible things which might increase the value of party hats is a reduction in number. Over time people leave and they sometime leave party hats in the bank account, this process would slowly decrease the number of hats within the game, there are also other processes which remove games like mistakenly high alching them or maybe dieing in a remote area and the hat would disappear after a given amount of time. One final things is when the population of runescape increase, the number of hats would remain the same, or even decrease. So a Increase in possible owners with a decrease in supply can only result in a increase of value for the item. There are many others things which could influence the demand for party hats. The most noticeable being the introduction of new party hats into the game, I personally do not see that occurring any time. Also, the introduction of similar rare items would spread the demand over a greater area. If there is 10 rare items they would all compete in price for the value of party hats. This might cause a redistribution of demand so the value of party hats would decline. Jagex could also introduce new features which decrease the amount of Inflation in runescape. The result would be a decrease in the number of coins within the economy, with less total coins, people would pay less out for party hats. The value of party hats compared with other items would not change but the price paid for them would be reduced. Enough on party hats, with regards to coal. I personalty do not see much change securing. At the moment, smithing is really only done to gain experience. There is no rush to get to a new level, and Jagex is unlikely to introduce levels above 99. There is already plenty of coal rocks within the game and they are not in any kind of shortage, Given time, the price paid for coal and similar ore might decrease slightly but I do not see any major changes occurring. If a new quests is released which requires a high smithing level then I can see a short term increase demand for ore which would lead to a increase in price paid per ore. At the same time, the inflation within runescape seem to be growing quite steadily. Jagex has not done enough to reverse the inflation, they might not even have slowed it. So inflation would cause a increase in price paid for ore to occur. At the moment the main thing determine the price paid for ore is the high alching value of the amour made out of it.
  6. Can you buy them separately, I thought they were only for lap tops and not really used in desktops.
  7. You do not need a state of the art computer to do what you want to do, even a cheap one from dell would be fine. But, there is no point in getting very old parts... So I suggest the following. If you want the software bundle there is little wrong with getter a dell machine. I did what I consider to be the PC which is best value for money, I also did a cheap PC... Both would easily do what you want and more. The top one would also play most new games for the next few years to a reasonable standard. *Price was gotten from a NZ price bot, so are in NZD, they also include 13% GST, and are the cheapest the bot could find....
