  1. do u think maybe the battery lost all of its juice? idk, im just tryin to help out. my laptop power chord goes straight from the outlet to my laptop. it has its own little plug-in whole. you were saying something about plugging it into the battery? maybe since the battery wont hold anymore charge, the charge from the outlet cant go thru it?
  2. ok, sorry about multiple threads. 8) but i still got really bad lag, when not running msn or any other program. and my friend that knows a thing or two about java said it shouldnt be using no where near that much..

  13. lemme repost that pic.. :wink: kk, now. i had a msn messenger window up earlier, i have only 5 things in my task bar. and my cpu usage will stay around 1-2 % or so then it will jump up to 38% or so, is this normal?
  14. well i posted under general RSC about me havin a lag, i have 512 ram, cable internet. i use sun java. it will run ok but every now and then i will get like a 2 seconds lag. can someone help?

  18. you can probably find a way to go around it.. but idk. ive been to them at my school but if u try and go to a porn site or something of that manner. it says website blocked and you can try and override it or some junk but it requires admin user/pass :cry: BUT there is 1 site that isnt blocked by our school network admin and its porn!! its ashleyspears.com lmao dude one time i set the home page on like 8 comps to that in the computer lab o dam it was hilarious. ppl freakin out

  20. i have a dell inspiron 4000 notebook and its got windows xp home edition, p3, 512 ram. but only 806 mhz. wtF??? can this get any higher?
  21. Agreed. That, and you didn't even bother to describe the operating systems correctly... "Apple" is not an OS. It's the company that makes Mac OS operating systems. Then there's the fact that Linux and unix are fairly similar, but cannot easily be compared to windows, seeing as windows comes with a window manager which can't easily be changed, while Linux and Unix have several window managers available (GNOME and KDE being the most universal). So basically, you just asked us to compare a kernel + window manager to a company, to a core kernel, to another core kernel. I'm sure that you should be able to realize that that isn't really going to work... i agree with both of you, but i still went with windows :)
