Just try to have fun. Higher skills may help with some stuff, but the most important thing is to have fun.

Hmm... I've fought tons of shades back in my f2p days and never once got a shade robe drop. I've fought maybe 7 shades while p2p and got 5 shade robe drops. So... Idk. I think they're only dropped in p2p. Or you get a better chance.

You could also go buy a ton of lockpicks from the Rogue's Den beforehand.

Amulets are made with an amulet mold and you can't wear it until you string it. Necklaces are made with a necklace mold and are wearable without any further work.

I wouldn't beat up Jagex. It's well known that there are a ton of necklaces that can't be enchanted. Although beating up Jagex for making those necklaces cratable could be in order. It's called an Amulet of Fury. Not a Fury Necklace. Becareful next time dude. And by the way, only necklaces up to emerald are enchantable.
