  1. Heh, you guys are both mad! Good luck for both of you getting to your 91rc. It's a lot better that you both have a target to aim for. Just think of the riches that you will have earned by the end of it!

I'm rooting for morden on this one, especially as he is the underdog (and one of my mates!) Good luck to both of you though. I'll keep popping back to see how the race goes....

  2. I should probably add that dynamic stat sigs might get banned in the near future due to the increase in bandwidth that these cause to runescape. You might just want to stick with a normal signature for the moment (i.e. something that you have created yourself) just to be on the safe side....

Does anyone know the drop percentage of Dragon items for the Metal Dragons?

    Bronze:

    D Legs: 1:100

    Thanks :)

Seems like they've been nerfed lately though.

EDIT: to the person above me, it doesn't mean that if you kill 50 steels you are bound to get a leg drop. What it means that every time you kill a dragon a dice that has 50 edges is thrown and you have exactly the same chances of getting a d leg drop on each dragon.

You can't be seriuous. If that were true, I would have to have multiple copies of all those items, in fact I have none of them, and I killed my share of metal dragons!

In fact, they are rare drops, more in the range of 1:10000 then in 1:100, which is really ridiculous!

Agreed! There is no way the drop rates are 1 in 50! I read somewhere that they were 1:1000 for bronzies, 1:500 for irons, and 1:250 for steels. Even by those odds, I should have had a drop by now... There is no way that bronzies are as good as 1:100. Everyone would be wearing d legs if they were.

  4. Well I was fighting aberrant specters and after a couple of close hits, I got down to 10 hp. With no prayer left, I hit my cammy teleport button, only to get an evil chicken random event. First hit hit me for 9, and I managed to get the second teleport out just in time! Got to camelot with 1hp left, my closest call I reckon!

  5. Well my vote goes for having a skill cape. Rares are particularly impressive to have, but you have to remember that some people did just get them free a few years ago and when you think of it like that, it somehow seems less of an achievement.

With skill capes, you know how much time people have put into them, some are clearly better than others though. Although rares do increase in value, you can at least use your 99 skill to make money as well e.g. fletching bows or cooking sharks. Therefore, skill capes ftw (although i am miles off getting one)

  6. im a big fan of quests too. I have the cape, although regrettably I did use a guide for quite a few of them. Normally, I just use a guide to prod me in the right direction, I hate being walked through the whole thing, although ME2 I did use a guide for pretty much the entire quest. Part of me regrets not having more of a go on my own, but I would have been much more inclined to do the puzzles if there had not been all those monsters hitting you when trying to figure it out.

Nowadays, I complete the quests as soon as they come out (partly so i can wear my cape again) but also so I can do it before the guides come out, so I can't be tempted to cheat!

  7. I alch while farming my limps, sweetcorns/melons, and high level herb seeds like ranarrs, snaps or lants. I am not a fan of conversation as it slows down your alching, but this way, you are at least being productive at the same time. I did alch at duel arena once and bought myself a lot of rotten tomatoes to throw, which was fun!

  8. nice stats by the way. you should have no trouble with barrows at your level. I would strongly recommend getting house teletablets, as they only take up once space and you can recharge prayer/tele to canafis pretty quickly. Use slayer dart and you will be fine

  9. This is a hilarious thread, most entertained by the different responses.

I think that DT is hard. I died on Kamil (but that was due to incompetence rather than him being tough), but managed the others without too much problem.

For all those who keep saying that they dont know why the pyramid was hard, it took me about 20 trips through there before i got to the end. I tried running (with energy pots) or walking, but whatever I did made no difference. I was about 67 agility at the time too. You guys have no idea how lucky you are.

I also would be intersted to know how many people actually completed this quest with no help from anyone (guides or friends). Most quests in RS are easy with a guide. Figuring them out on your own is not so trivial. Turning up to fight kamil not knowing his prayer drain would make most people struggle against him until they knew better.

Also, a lot of the people that did this quest when it was first released could safespot kamil or block against some of the dudes by getting a friend to stand in the way. This made it a lot easier to kill them. This is a hard quest, i have to disagree with anyone who says otherwise.

  10. When the person using the cannon completly ignores the other people and just ruins their training i would consider it noobish.Though you can actually use cannon without annoying other people and get even better xp  by just switching worlds..

Yeah i use cannon during slayer but i actually bother to switch and search for an empty world.. Reason why cannon users have a bad rep is because very few actually bother to consider with others and switch.

I'm with you on this one. I also switch to find an empty world, I do think that it is pretty rude to plonk down a cannon in a really populated spot. This is most annoying on the lesser demon spots in karamja as they are always busy.

However, you should not feel ashamed of cannoning, its good slayer and range xp, dont worry about the people who call you noob, they are most likely jealous

  11. The big day is tomorrow Im gonna be a MEMBER woohoo \' , but my problem is training, I have gr8 info on alot of things about p2p but I would really like to know:

    1-where to train range ( right now 44 :-w )

    2- Is farming worth training?

3-What are the quests I should do in my first day ( other than: dwarf cannon, The herblore quest, lost city )

4-What skills should I train first? ( from the most importent to the least, since I have to train them all at the same time if I don't get an anwser :wall: )

5-what should I first do other than going through the Member gate in falador screaming " Im a member finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

Please help me Coz I'll be staying the whole night with a headache and a final test tomorrow just thinking about what to do :XD: ::'

    1) Train range with slayer.

    2) Definitely. You might find it hard to start with as you need a good thieving level to get the seeds. This is a hard skill to train at the start, but will get easier once you get to about level 30

    3) Other people have already said. Priest in Peril is a good addition. Just see what the quest requirements are for each quest and go from there.

    4) Agility to level 20 (you should try to do this in one go), slayer, thieving, slayer, herblore, slayer, hunter, farming, and a long way down the line - construction.

    5) Explore and get to know the new areas

  12. Here is a useful tip that I use for the blast furnace: I sell 80 coal at a time to the shop and buy it back again all at once. This saves quite a bit of money in the long run because the ores are cheaper the more they have in stock.Good luck though. 40k is a long way to go!

  13. Hey dude,

I did the Brimhaven arena and got 1k tickets to get up to 70 agility. Its takes a lot longer than the courses to get the same amount of xp, but it is at least remotely fun rather than running round (and often failing) the courses.

  14. Hey dude,

I was going to do a rate bank and stats thread soon, so I'll let you know when I do! (Prob when i get to 1800 total)

I know how much you hate thieving, but it is a bit of a blip on your stats. It's not too far to get all your stats to 70, but you have some pretty hard ones to do it in. Smithing is a pretty horrible skill, depends on how much money you want to put into it. (If you would ever be up for spending a couple of hours in the blast furnace, let me know. I have 2k coal to burn.)

For stats I'd give you a 7.5/10, not terrible, but that 99 overshadows the rest of your stats a bit lol!

    For your bank:

It's interesting that you dont have the tiaras/talismans for the 'lesser' runes, I guess you need to save your bankspace. You should probably try and ditch those trout and lobbies (unless you use them for f2p pking) to get more space too.

Are those 5 spirit tree seeds in there? I have 5 myself but am a long way off being able to plant them. You should leave all your farming stuff with the leprechaun, like secateurs/rake/trowel/spade.

Generally it is pretty solid, no rares, but I dont care about those things. You have a lot of junk floating around though, a bit more organisation wouldnt hurt...

ill give you 7.5/10 for the bank (particularly as you have more money than me, and full guthans!

    Cheers,

  15. Well, I really enjoyed BA for a bit of fun when it came out. I got to level 2 healer and defender then decided that I'd go for the torso before everyone stopped playing. Having got the torso and granite plate, what other incentive is there?

As has been said before, if there is no xp (bar mage xp for attackers) reward, then people's stats are not going to be affected, and the minigame has no impact on the rest of the game. It takes well over an hour (particularly with a weak team) to even get to the queen, and the game can be ruined by a leaver/non-caller/low-level messing it up.

The solution would be to make the rewards really worthwhile. So instead of giving 22 teaks, give 500+. Other examples would be to give 5-10k xp in a random skill, or rewards that match those from treasure trails. This would keep the interest in the game going, and if the rewards were sufficiently common, then people would want to play it, and the minigame would survive.
