Tip.It Times - 13th March 2011
Penguins were already in the sheep disguise in Lumbridge before the quest started. Had to use some creative license for the story and couldn't exactly tear the sheep from Lumbridge, now could I?

Females playing RS?
On a kind of opposite note, I really don't like how the Bandos Chestplate looks on females :( I really like how it looks on males but.. ugh. I don't like it on my female character. Verac's makes me feel far too exposed.

Yea... when I finished, the story felt short too, but hey, it's part I. ;)

How are you preparing for Bonus XP Weekend?
Well I ended up spending the first eight minutes doing a farming run and went from 81 to 83 farming so woohoo! Now I just need to find the motivation to log on to work on agility. I really wanna get that to 90 at least. >.<

Females playing RS?
It's an ongoing discussion believe me. :P http://forum.tip.it/topic/226612-why-female-players-are-underepresented-in-runescape/ http://forum.tip.it/topic/239736-girls-dont-exist-on-runescape/ Honestly, I'm starting to back off on justifying my gender because if anything, a lot of the "doubt" comes from internet trolls. It's not to say I'm lying to myself about my gender, but rather I see no reason to even bother anymore because it does is add fuel for the trolls to play with. But I am happy to be a girl. :P If people don't want to accept the fact that girls exist, okay, let them think that and let them be so narrow minded. We got better things to worry about. It does create some amusing situations... Just earlier today, someone said, "So Forsaken, I heard you like men," like that's supposed to be an insult. My response: "Yea, I'm a girl. So?" Troll: "Oh."

No Jagex, I will not try another world.

Best part of thieving there: You can get upwards of 300k an hour normally. Think about it on bonus experience weekend! Have fun there! I know I sure did!

Lots of Rain...
Yea seriously. I'm usually on campus until 5:00PM, right when the rain LOVES to start pouring again. Looks like we're getting a break for a few days though, with showers on Monday, and then no more rain until Thursday or Friday. >.< So glad I bought that double-layered Triclimate jacket from North Face last year. ^^; They're on sale right now too at the Berkeley store (they're out of warranty which is why they're going uber cheap... $50-$90!).

Lots of Rain...
Living in California, it didn't always mean the stereotypical sunshine and warm weather. It meant depending on which part of the state you lived in, it could be really warm if you were living out by the desert or pretty muggy in the middle of July. Wait, California has deserts? Yes, and snowy mountain peaks too. It's only a four hour drive from San Francisco to South Lake Tahoe, CA. Winters where I live in in California have been significantly cooler and wetter over the past few years. The past week alone has been non-stop rain, and it nearly drove me crazy. Sure it's not as bad as the snow storms the Midwest and East Coast had to deal with, but it was bad enough to cause some nuisances around here like flooded roads and downed trees when the winds were gusting at over 50mph/80kmph. Several times this past week while going to and from class, I had to find alternative routes because of deep ponds that were forming around the sewer drains and depressions in the ground on campus. My umbrella turned inside out a few times, but thankfully did not break. Yet. :???: My jeans, sneakers, and socks were already soaked through due to the rain going sideways thanks to the wind, so there wasn't much more I could do other than avoid getting more water in my sneakers. By the time I did get home, I was pretty much numb from the waist down. >.< I honestly thought the rain season would be over after the series of storms we got out here in December, but they came right back in February. And we're supposed to get more rain next week. :wall: Hi again to the snowy peaks and elevations of barely at 3000-ft. (914.4m) while temperatures fall to freezing. Time to invest in some galoshes, extra pairs of leggings to wear underneath my pants, and unpack the winter coats. The groundhog lied. It's gonna be a long winter.

18-Feb-2011 - You brought back the Wildynow you can prove it!
Oh I used to PK. It's not that I hate PKing. I just don't like how Jagex is shoving the activity down our throats. [hide=Wait, ForsakenMage PKed?] [/hide]

Summed it up nicely for me. How about fixing those glitches in the Duel Arena, eh Jagex? Or are you too busy counting how many kills were done the past weekends still? <_<

New Ashes / prayer comparisons
Looking forward to seeing the XP rates for ecto'ing infernal ashes. Will definitely be helpful for me trying to get 95 prayer from 89 once I go back to training slayer again.

The Profanity Filter
Okay guys, let's just try not to drag race in here as a defining factor of why someone acts the way they do okay, i.e. let's not go into the whole nature versus nurture stuff please. Stick with the original topic. If you wish to continue with your personal argument, take it off the thread and do it via PM the very least. Otherwise drop it. We have rules on these forums that ask that you please respect users for who they are regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, religious beliefs, and so forth. This is an international community after all. ~~~On Topic~~~ If you personally have an issue with the new ability to turn off the filter, then don't turn it off and use the report button and ignore list if needed. No one is forcing you to turn it off. I understand that there will be people who will turn the filter off and throw a number of offensive words out there, including racial slurs. You are more than welcome to report them as it still falls under the offensive language rules set by Jagex. If you do not wish to tolerate any sort of foul language, keep the filter on. I'm Chinese and I'm female, and way before this update came about I was already getting racially and sexually driven insults. This is nothing new for me and I will continue to use the ignore and report buttons. Don't let the immature kids beat you up with words, and don't let your status victimize you.

Jagex Limited receives growth investment from new investors
You can't fault them for wanting to have more investors involved. The game has grown quite a bit since they first started, and they need that financial support. They may have earned millions, but when you start subtracting operational costs, financial responsibilities, as well as a number of other things, that number shrinks. Profit is good, but it also needs to be able to come in constantly to allow for investment in improving current existing areas. So yes, it may suck to the outsider that more and more of the company is being owned by third-parties, but when you start to consider just how much Jagex is trying to expand as a business, it's really a good deal. So they might not play RuneScape. Look at how people buy stocks in the stock market on public trade. You don't have to be a doctor or specialist to buy and sell stocks for a pharmaceutical company. You don't need to be a metalworker to invest in the steel market. The money is put in there because you expect the company to grow and give you a share of the profits in return for investing, giving both parties company. However, I do understand the feeling about how RuneScape seems to be feeling rather disconnected as time has passed with the number of updates we had. Perhaps that's why the Wilderness and Free Trade came back, to bring back some of the connections we once had (although it's really hard to see that right now considering all the bad that's come with it, but that's for another topic).

How to "lure"/kill Crafting Guild training bots @@300k drop@@
So I caught one of the bots.... And the guy was actually at his computer. Except he didn't realize he was stuck running back and forth at the north side of the fence until a few minutes later and just went "God!" Then basically tried to play normally for a while. Ran into a few others that'd switch to ranged or mage attack when stuck outside the fence though. They're getting smarter. :wall:

Tip.It Times - 6th February 2011
Off Topic Clarification: Yes I'm female, but I am no longer part of 'The' Clan. You can still call me Ami or Magey, whichever is easier. Forsaken is already hard enough to type. :P On Topic I don't think it's so much the fact that people are getting money from the return of the Wildy. The thing that actually angers me the most out of all of this is the number of outrageous bugs that Jagex seemed to have failed to test for, and oversights with the Duel Arena. Look at how many glitches there were. Apparently in one case, six people managed to stake in a total of over 20 billion between themselves thanks to a glitch. That I think is what angers most everyone, i.e. people are cheating to get that massive amount of cash, while the legit ones suffer for it. <_< I'm staying away from the Duel Arena for a good long while (I didn't lose anything there, but I'm not taking any chances).

Did you check the appeal section? That might help. :)

Just the opposite
I used to play the game to try to get fame. Then I changed that objective to try to earn as much money as I could to get whatever I wanted in the game. Now it's really just something I play to pass the time and talk to friends. I'll admit though, free trade let me see a lot of ugly sides in some people. I had to remove ten or so "friends" from my list because they would not stop begging, no matter how many times I had said no (not to mention they would not stop asking me when the updates were gonna happen... that REALLY pissed me off because their reason was "to get free stuff from you"). Perhaps it was selfish and maybe it was a joke (but after about 10 times or so I really doubt it), but when you have a full list and those friends know the other friends, and you only give items to a few people and no one else? Yea, you're gonna have some e-drama and butt-hurting right there. <_< If anything I think I lost more interest in trying to earn money through PKing (pre-2007) and [solo] merchanting. There just doesn't seem to be a point anymore other than giving yourself the ability to buy more raw materials to level certain skills with. But now that I've started doing more DIY, money-making really doesn't seem to be a huge deal for me anymore. On the bright side of things, I'm lol'ing at the people who were using bots to skill for them and found themselves cleaned out shortly after the update. Serves them right. :shame: And I honestly hope some sort of justice is brought down on those who were glitch abusing at the Duel Arena. GREEDY PIGS! <_<

Trade Off Hit the nail right on the head for me! People thought I was insane to have voted no, but now look how dirty things are being played now. Indeed, are you happy now, yes voters? Are you happy to have your bank cleaned out?

Dungeoneering's Impact on the Community at Large
I rarely find teams that honestly know what they're doing, or even communicate. One thing I did learn though after leading a few parties myself: In messy GD rooms, people like it when targets are marked. Not only does it make things go faster, but also keep everyone from going all panicky in the room. I can see where people are worried about the elitist attitude, but if there is to be some sort of teaching and learning to happen, people are gonna have to push aside those worries and egos. It'd be great to work with a community we're all familiar with, and a lot easier too even. We can actually go to worlds where we don't die due to lag.

Your take on DIY?
Once upon a time I cut 125k Willow logs on F2P to get to 99 Woodcutting and Firemaking. Once upon a time I fished 25k lobsters on RSC and early RS2 days on F2P... Just for the heck of it. Got me a few fishing and cooking levels haha. Now I'm mining about 80k+ gold to get myself a few more decent smithing and crafting levels. But I can't honestly say that I will be able to stick with it for so long and will end up needing to switch now and again to break the monotony. So occassionally yes I like DIY, but I don't think I'd want to do it all the time... Gets frustrating, but the feeling of having been able to accomplish at least a small part makes me happy.

Is the thieving guild good?
The experience also increases as you level. :) It's a decent place if you don't want to bother with getting actual loot, or have no intentions of profiting from training it, and is definitely a lot easier than Pyramid Plunder. Downside is that it does require quite a bit of clicking. If you do want to get some money from thieving, something similar to coshing is thieving the monkey knife fighters after the Do No Evil quest. The experience remains consistently the same, but because you do not need to lure the monkeys, you can get up to almost 300k experience an hour. :) All you do is simply punch, pickpocket twice, repeat. XD Gorilla Greegree is required though.
