16-May-2011 Lava Flow Mine
I look like a firefighter instead of a miner in the outfit. <_< Then again, it doesn't help that the Firemaking cape matches it. XD Anyway, fun little update. Got the full set of armour, now I just need to get my pickaxe gilded. :)

Is Runescape becoming to social?
Heh... I still remember the news about the Al Kharid "services" bust too... And reading two people getting it on in the guards quarters of the palace a few years ago. :| You have to consider that a lot of players from the past have moved on, and more and more people are coming in, particularly from younger age groups, who in turn have experienced quite a different upbringing than some of us older people. Look at the Disney movies, and compare movies that were shown to six-year-olds then to the ones they categorize as "G-rating." Is RuneScape a social network? Yes, but honestly not because of the overly sexual names. Any internet game you play consists of a community that will create networks of friends who will interact with each other using the same social signals as we would in first-person interactions in real life. And people will role-play, get a chance to get away from their personalities in real life and make something bigger of themselves (no pun intended for the male anatomy), or simply to just have fun.

the killer gets killed :)
As stated several times, no picture no proof. Please read the Graveyard Rules if there's any confusion. Should you have a picture uploaded for the post, please PM me the link and I will edit the thread accordingly and unlock it. Thanks. And to the rest of you: Please, just use the report feature next time and leave it at that. :P

Unafraid to bot
BIG BOLD TEXT TO GET YOUR ATTENTION HERE Okay yes, that was fairly immature, but it's time to really back off of each other guys. I'm aware that there are some feelings about how this thread was moderated, and will not stop you from giving feedback. However, please don't use this thread to do that. Instead, use this link: http://forum.tip.it/...its-moderation/ We do read the responses and do discuss what actions should we take to change. Some changes may not be what you want or expect, but that's sadly part of the process. Can't please everyone, but we'll try to do what we can. In terms of the personal attacks, that has got to stop too. If you disagree with someone so badly that you must insult them, then please don't hijack the thread to do just that. I don't encourage insults, but I don't like to see discussions go down the poop chute because people are bickering at each other. =) So let's get back on the topic okay?

How many RuneScape originals from 2001 are still here?
That's not really fair since it doesn't contain ALL of the ones who started in 2001. So I won't cabbage off thanks. ;-)

Unafraid to bot
I'm not friends with people I suspect bot (but I don't have any proof) because they bot. I am friends with them because of who they are personality wise. I do not agree with their actions and wouldn't be able to deny it if it was completely obvious, but I don't think removing them would change the fact anyway. It's like saying I shouldn't be friends with someone anymore because they smoke and I don't like smoking. Now would I report them? If I see them doing it, yes. Am I going to go stalk every single person I suspect on my friends list of botting to confirm it? No, I did not sign up to become a vigilante, and for all I know they could be like me: daydreaming and not paying attention to the chat while playing the game. (I've known some people who become so bored they essentially fall asleep, but because the movement of the game-play itself is so simple, their body has learned to move their hand automatically a certain direction and distance and they're literally playing in their sleep. O.o Hard to tell from there if they are botting or not from the other side eh? XD) It is definitely a shame to see so many bots, and maybe I've become rather apathetic towards them. But I am not going to ruin my game-play trying to hunt every single one down either instead of doing what I had signed up to actually do: Play the game. The game-play itself is so tedious sometimes, even boring sometimes it's no wonder there's so many bots (Skill-X being something that was supposed to make it easier on us, yet it doesn't take away the desire to want to bot). It's not a series of complicated commands to get your character to move around. If I see it, I'll report it. Pure and simple. Should people be afraid to cheat? I think the word "afraid" isn't really the correct term for the situation. Rather, there isn't enough in my opinion to discourage them from cheating aside from stat/inventory/bank wipes and bans. This unfortunately happens with all games. You can try to do all you want to fight the bots but they will persist because there are people simply dedicated to doing this and people can always make new accounts. No popular game is cheater free as far as I know. Does that mean we have to give up stopping them all together? No, but we shouldn't let it control our entire game-play either.

03-May-2011 Capes of Distinction
really perplexed by this issue. I got mine, but i've had my rsc account active since the rs2 switch. Anyone else got it and can say how they have access to rsc(either reopenings or having the account manually activated since 04)? Well, it got fixed it seems, whatever it was. I'm assuming people have to wait until the next reopening to get back on RSC. :-\

03-May-2011 Capes of Distinction
Would love for Jagex to clarify what they mean by having logged onto Classic at some point in their characters' time. Can't get that cape despite having played since 2001, despite having logged on during that reboot period in 2009. Oh, maybe because I wasn't a paying member then. Oh wait, they said the cape was supposed to be available to ALL players. Hrm. <_< Sorry, just slightly annoyed. Slightly. Honest. *Twitch*

Late April 2001 waving hello! Oh jeez has it been 10 years?! EEP!

Is anyone else just completely disappointed with everyone?
I guess I'm posting because I'm bored sitting here while making up flashcards for my medical terminology class while monitoring a study lab. XD This post in no way reflects the whole thinking of the staff. This is my personal opinion only. I missed whatever drama occurred this morning as I was asleep or en route to the lab, but for the most part I can gather from the four pages I've read through (each page having 50 posts each... meep). Anyway, I can't say I'm disappointed in everyone, but I can't say I'm happy about what has transpired either. In my years of working with the forum staff, I've seen many mistakes made, and while they're not fun to fess up to, apologies can be made by both sides. And apologies were given as far as I can tell. Once upon a time, a fairly large group of disgruntled banned users of the Graveyard forum (back in the old RSC days) created their own forums because they felt they were unjustly banned and desired a community to give them a bit more free reign. I took a chance and without the guidance of the administrators at the time went and joined that community and talked it out with each person who expressed some serious grievances and tried to look into the matter and at the same time observed why they felt the need to move on. In the end, a few users did get to comeback, but stayed in both communities because together it made them feel like they have a place where they can talk about certain things that are better received in one area than elsewhere. It's been many years since, and those forums are currently gone. Some of their users have come back to Tip.it, others have moved on, and some have simply vanished to who knows where. But Tip.it is still here. This isn't being said as a gloat, but rather as a way of saying that communities, old and new, find ways of reestablishing themselves after certain events and can carry on. I will not go and tell those who wish to leave to "GTFO already," nor am I going to say that I am happy that they are leaving (mind you, I don't tolerate spam, flaming, posting of pornography on these forums though; those can stay out >.<). After all, they're still part of the community and we can't deny the fact they've made some sort of impact on it. I just wish people could learn to live with the differences of opinion rather than assume that their idea is absolute one. Besides, perhaps we can all use a little bit of drama in the community now and again. It helps remind us we're not a singular thinking community after all. We have a broad range of ideas that can benefit all of us if we're willing to see them and respond to them in a respectful manner.

April 11th, 2011
I guess I missed most of the chaos as I had to leave the house at 9:00AM PDT, then had class until 2:00PM PDT, didn't get home until around 3:30PM PDT, and it seems everything's cooled down. Quite the rollercoaster ride from what I gathered. :P WHY DO I ALWAYS MISS THE CRAZINESS?!? D:

Crazy Glitch
Yea, it's something with DirectX. When you shrink the window down a certain width, things begin to disappear like the chat box and tabs. I'd use DirectX if it wasn't for that issue.

200M in all Skills
Okay guys, as frustrating as it is to have someone leave a floor midway through a dungeon, please don't go raging about them in here. As mentioned, the circumstances were not clearly seen, and we do not wish to see personal attacks being done on these boards. If you have a problem with a particular user, then please PM them rather than hijack a thread. Thanks.

ROW is still junk for pvm
[spoiler=Quotes] Don't trust the level one clues for money haha. I've been pickpocketing ham members lately just to try for same zammy pages from clues in hopes of making a quick bit of cash but well.... 14 level 1 clues done now all with RoW on and not a single reward over 10k. All the rewards have been a few runes and some noted trout/salmon or whatever, oh, and quite a few biscuits. Before the update, I did 200+ level one clue scrolls for about a week and got 8mil. Slow yes, but hey it was fun. Friend of mine did the same thing but got 18mil. >.<!

ROW is still junk for pvm
Initially when effigies came out, I was consistently getting one to three per task, then that dropped to almost nothing. Come the update and I'm back at 1-3 again while wearing the Ring of Wealth despite what Jagex says. I haven't really noticed an increase in drops though. Got a dragon dagger, but that was probably it. Initially it seemed to be working for Treasure Trails as well, but I'm not quite sure (got junk the past two clues I did, previous one before those gave me a Rune Platebody H3). Guess I'll try my luck at my iron dragon task. Mind you, I'm not assuming the Ring of Wealth will work 100% of the time, but bleh. Maybe I better go on my level 1 clue scroll spree again and try my luck there lmao. Got quite a lot of gems though that's for sure. Thank goodness for the gem bag. :P I've gotten into the habit of picking up almost every single coin after each kill, if only because on F2P it's taught me that every penny counts and it can add up quite nicely over time.

Females playing RS?
Well that's my old thread and you must admit mine is actually written creatively. :) Jagex also twittered that link. Oh don't get me wrong, I loved the discussion. :D Helps people realize just how many of us are really out there, not to mention break some people's worlds a bit that the internet is only for guys. XD Gender really shouldn't be a determining factor for who are you status wise in the game. Just because we're female doesn't make us second class. Seems to be a huge spike in sexist commentary lately in game though... Then again, might just be in the clan chat I am that's currently targeted by spammers. Ugh. <_<

Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
I loved watching Transformers as a kid, and actually wanted some of the action figures too. XD That being said, I can't wait to see what the game brings. :D
