Rebuilding trust in the community?
In regards to listening to the player moderators: This I can see as somewhat true. I say somewhat because the bot problem has been addressed by them over and over and over and over and over.... And we're still seeing problems, more worse than before. When the censor changes were made (i.e. giving the option to turn it off), that was surprise for a lot of player moderators and caused quite a discussion, although thankfully the situation didn't turn as bad as some had thought it would. I don't think a majority of the people going to Runefest are player mods though, rather I think it'd be more fair to say that the majority of people going to Runefest are those who are local/close enough to go there without denting their bank accounts/have enough saved up to go for a quick vacation anyway/invited by Jagex themselves. But the crowd will be small compared to how big the community is and just how many problems we have. We can't assume that all those going to RF have the same mindset on what's going on in the game. I think it's safe to say that among those going to the session on bots, there will probably be people who create and run bots too that want to hear what Jagex is going to do to the and start planning ahead. I think they have already acknowledged there is a problem in that tweet, but not what specifically (since regaining trust could mean a number of things when it comes to what aspect of the game we're talking about). They just have not shown us any strong vocal actions against it yet that we can see.

Rebuilding trust in the community?
Off Topic: Oh god... what did I start... #-o  On Topic: I wouldn't go so far as to say the community is destroyed, decimated, etc. but badly damaged from years of neglect, misunderstanding, miscommunications, etc. :wall: And maybe, just maybe, someone finally has the guts to try to address it. At least they're admitting there is a problem, indirectly anyway.

Rebuilding trust in the community?
Now now, strangling them WON'T let them work to gain our trust any faster. :shame: :P Let's just hope we see some positive results in the near future.

How bad do you slack?
Using a rough estimate rather than the exact number of hours I have allotted on my main, I'm at about 31.5k/hour. :ohnoes:

Rebuilding trust in the community?
To be fair, this is probably a more accurate description of what Jagex is actually doing  Thrusting themselves into the arms of an unhappy, insane community of players?

Dungeoneering's Impact on the Community at Large
When I'm not with EoE and dungeoneering with my friends from a different community, the pace really isn't that much different. Sure, it's an additional 15-minutes sometimes, but they're learning. I'm not pro, but at least I can still help people get the basics down for "rushing" in terms of understanding the terminology, knowing what kind of attacks should be used against what kind of monsters, and prioritizing tasks. Unfortunately, I think this is where a lot of this negativity comes from. Some people are just simply too impatient to wait around for someone to make teleport runes or build the home altar and start screaming, etc. To me, that just makes the skill that much more horrible when it really isn't. Sorry, but I rather be slightly inefficient and be nice while teaching my friends, than be totally efficient and be a total jackass to them because they're slow to get to a guardian door room. <_<

Rebuilding trust in the community?
+ Kim, I see were your coming from lol Same here. I had to giggle at that. XD I have to agree with Blyaunte on this one. Honestly, the way the tweet was worded almost confirms they never even TRIED to gain our trust to begin with. But hopefully this could mean something good. Definitely a big issue is the bots, including the mass spam of RWT advert bots in game. Would love to see this get squashed down hard. But this isn't something Community Management can handle other than pass on info, if at all any that is possible, about the current bot-war situation. However, I think this has something to do with what happened on the RSOF in the past two months regarding a certain person's actions and Jagex's response to that (I won't use this thread to justify or argue against the response), since there was quite the uproar and misconceptions being made. Another situation: rumors of Jagex mods having informed players of the climbing boots price change before the update came out (again, not using this thread to argue or justify any position here either). Although I'm quite sure there are many more examples, but these are the ones that popped into my mind. Another possibility: the feeling that Jagex doesn't care how the game is doing so long as they're gaining money and will push any means to get it (adverts in-F2P-game to join members after attaining a certain level in a skill, the Refer-a-Friend program, members' loyalty programme, the promotions for the game cards, etc.). (No I'm not calling Jagex a bunch of greedy pigs, and again, not going to use this thread to discuss the points for this.) I think that's where this tweet is pushing at.

I'm not trying to max out, I swear. I'm being far too inefficient for that!  Spent a good chunk of my day completing the Ritual of the Mahjarrat quest before finally doing this. #-o Onward to 99 Dungeoneering... :ohnoes: And slayer in between. :P

WEEE!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!! Buut.. judging from its description (Quest Length: Very, very long), I think I better get some sleep, wake up, go to class, come home, run errands, get 99 mining, THEN do the quest. I hope. Meant to get 99 mining last night and fell asleep instead lol. D: This is gonna be EPIC!!!!!!!!!

Future Update Discussions
:x I actually fell asleep pretty early last night (just felt overwhelmingly tired from class, so no I didn't sleep early on purpose to catch the update before class lol), and I'm now wide awake at 3:30am. :wall: Checked the news, and found info about website maintenance instead.

Future Update Discussions
By the way, just because the BTS is ordered the way it is, doesn't guarantee it's gonna follow that order. They haven't been putting up that disclaimer recently (the last time was in May), but as far as I know it should still apply. Back on topic... Yay I can get 99 mining maybe tonight! XD Then quest like mad tomorrow wee!

02-Sep-2011 - Bonus XP Weekend - 9th to 12th of September
Well, as predicted I didn't get 99 mining during BXPW, but I did get a good chunk of XP regardless. :P So I'm not entirely upset about the whole thing. Just need to get 99 mining sometime this week now so I can actually work on dungeoneering, although that might mean attempting to key for random groups if I get desperate... I guess it'd be a good learning experience. Then again, the last time I tried to key for a random group, this guy kept pestering me to make him a gorgonite rapier when I was already packed with keys, no one was calling doors, and I had to run around back and forth for skill doors too (and even that took ages because they'd take forever to pick up the group gatestone or take forever to drop it). :wall: Thank goodness for DG clans to help keep my sanity in check. XD

Minecraft General
So far I found a dinky village, and miles upon miles upon miles of abandoned miles that float mid-air. Made myself a two-story house at the village I found so wee. Hopefully creepers don't blow the village and I up. <_< And caverns... lots and lots of deep caverns. :|

I slacked off this BXWP. Should've been 99 mining today, but I decided to not log onto RS too much. XD Whoops! Oh well, 99 mining sometime between now and Wednesday.

Anyone hacked lately?
Well I wouldn't say unhackable, just less likely. Wish the idea of of the dongle came through back then. :( I wouldn't mind shelling out $30 or so for double authentication log in.
