  1. Whenever my parents do/say something silly again. :P I was actually getting worried because for a while it was quiet on that front. O_O'
  2. I'm tempted to just do this to get enough points for 99 agility... I only need 100k tokens for that. XD Oh, and 12k for the new outfit. XD So far... 962 points for 143 reward points 982 points for 144 reward points I guess I better quit after 500 points to maximize gains per hour?
  3. :wall: I've had my schedule posted on the refrigerator door for some four months now, including the time and location I'll be at while bouncing between work and school, since my parents want to make sure they knew where I was in case something happens. Except they don't seem to even bother with it. At 8:00am this morning... Dad: Why are you up so early? Me: Because I have class. Dad: You start at 11:00 though. Me: Yea, and I have to leave in like an hour. Dad: But that's early! Me: Oh. My. God. Dad, did you even check the schedule I had posted ages ago? Dad: Yea, it says 11:00. Me: Did you check the location I wrote next to it like you asked me to months ago? Dad: Uh... Me: I have to go across town, which will take me at least an hour and a half, for class today. Dad: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Mfw. :wall:
  4. If the Times is subjective then we should be able to give our subjective opinion on whether something should be published or not. "That shouldn't have been published" can just as easily be in interpreted as a subjective opinion. If this is the case then why cannot some writers manage to take opinions posted over here with "a grain of salt". I do agree that the Times needs a wider range of writers though, it seems to have the same feel every time. I do not know where we will find such writers though. I am just a reader, like many other simply does not have time to write articles for the Times. I appreciate those who put an effort into writing these articles but when I see something published that I find lacking to my taste then I am more likelier to make a post. There are other weeks when I like the articles being published but I do not comment because I see no point in making posts such as "Good article, I agree." as they seem increasingly repetitive.[/hide] I cannot answer for those who cannot take criticism very well, so I won't be able to address that point. Criticism, both good and bad, in my opinion, does help. In general though, threads for the articles should focus on the content of the article, so to avoid further discussion that would derail this discussion thread, please feel free to PM me if you wish and I'll forward that feedback to the EP. Did that recently by submitting an article on players subjecting themselves to grinding. The EP felt that my article was more suited to a rant topic, even though there was no actual ranting within the article. They also felt the format was unsuitable even though I'd introduced, stated points/arguments then concluded. It seemed they wanted more of an essay, probably with citations, even though the article was purely an opinion based piece and I wanted to push more questions at the community to itself. There was no feedback on the article suggesting improvements. If my article was crap then fine, but I get the feeling its a little more to it than that ;-). Feel free to take a look at it if you want as at least I'd get some sort of feedback on it. From my own point of view, there seems to be some sort of political motivations behind what the EP panel publishes. They're very quick to push out their own articles even though at times the quality is questionable and the length at times is ridiculous. I don't particularly enjoy reading a lot of it these days. The various guest articles are much more to the point and are a much more enjoyable read. It seems that the EP are also allowed to rant in their own articles, mainly about Jagex, without question. This, on a fansite :-s[/hide] I don't recall your article off the top of my head, but I'll go have a read through and PM a response when I can. :) Let's just get back on topic, guys. Let's focus on the content of the article. Any worries about how the EP is being run, forward concerns to Tripsis please. :P
  5. I personally invite those who have a different opinion to write a guest article and submit it to be published on the websites. I do sense the frustration of seeing a lot of the same opinions being put out without opposing arguments, so please, do write an article. I personally am not able to adequately write one supporting the opposing argument, and would like to see one who has a strong opinion for this side to do so. =P Just make sure it's readable so that editing doesn't hurt our heads and I'll love you just for that hehe. Some people have to bear in mind as well that sometimes opinions that are stated (as in, objective ones, not the subjective ones that have been described) can hit a nerve and come off as more offensive that intended. So please do make sure that when you do read these articles that you try to take it with a grain of salt as well. We all don't need to agree, but be able to at least see the different view points being presented. Again, I personally would be happy to see another article showing this "other side" that many are mentioning already, and will even be happy to communicate further on the matter as well should you provide us with an article that you want some feedback on before sending. :)
  6. That's 1 big closet. You haven't seen walk-in closets before?
  7. In case anyone is wondering, The Lost Night will continue. I'm just in the middle of exams. :P So next week! I promise! <3
  8. Hi there! Thanks for the heads-up. The entries have been corrected accordingly. Please send a PM to me on how you wish to be credited. Thank you again! ^_^
  9. People already don't read it. And most of these people who don't read I would imagine tend to use guides... I have to admit, when I first got P2P I went mad wanting to complete all the quests as quickly as possible and went for the guides (of course, I was also checking to make sure the guides here were accurate the time and updated a few hehe). But when the Branches of Darkmeyer, the Ritual of the Mahjarrat, and One Piercing Note came out, I felt compelled to not read a guide for once and just go through the dialogue, probably because of the fact these quests were so long awaited for. Now, if it was a quest like One Small Favour... *Shudders.* That I can understand using the speed-through for. I'm not sure if I would like to see WASD controls introduced to RuneScape... Got used to just clicking around for movement, but I suppose it wouldn't make that huge of a difference. Unfortunately, that means more keyboard mashing, and I did enough of that on WoW haha. :(
  10. I'm glad you feel that way about the F2P game. I hope I didn't sound like I was asking for things, as people often make it seem, I only wish for the games longevity. If Jagex can find a way to keep the advertisements "unobtrusive" and find a way to keep F2P fresh and inviting to new players without adding any content, I'm fine with that as long as I have my favorite MMO. As a player since Oct 04 (spending 7 of my 18 years playing this game), I would be heart broken not to get to say at some point that I've played RuneScape for 50% of my life. TL;DR: I want longevity, not necessarily new content. In addition ForsakenMage- I plan to read your fictional piece at some point. As an aspiring fictional writer (though not RuneScape), I feel it only proper to offer feedback and compliments to someone who according to the comments I've read, has talent. It may take me a week or more to get to- but by the time the final piece of your story is unveiled, I hope to offer my compliments. Sincerely, Azura Skyy~ Oh no, I didn't take what you said that way at all! I was free-to-play for quite a while myself before finally switching over (good lord, and I'm entering my eleventh year of playing the game soon yikes). What attracted me was the simplicity of the game itself, and eventually wanting more content after over nine years, I went P2P. I still appreciate F2P for the many hours of entertainment it provided me back then, but now I feel a bit disgusted with how it's been treated recently too (it's like it's being slowly stamped out of existence and being stifled with in-game advertisements like "Congratulations on reaching level 10 mining! Why don't you go sign up for members and get your free Dwarven Army Axe!"). Thank you for the kind words! And welcome to the forums hehe. ^_^
  11. You don't turn back into human form to complete the teleport animation. Instead, you turn back into human form when you arrive at your destination. Usually, you complete teleport animations in human form. And I agree, it's a useless fact. :P At least it's a fun little fact? :P Better than the one I suggested ages ago before it was fixed, I think... "Did you know Leo continues to have glasses on in the chatbox interface, while the character physically doesn't have them anymore?" :P I have to admit, I feel in some ways F2P is just slowly being neglected when it should be one of the most attractive parts of the game as whole that would entice someone to join members to begin with. :-? o_o Hope my fictional isn't boring anyone.
  12. I thought that too, but she kept emphasizing the "urry" part. XD
  13. And now, for some more fun from my life! :) This conversation was entirely in Chinese, mind you, so this is a translation of it. Mom: So I saw the eye doctor today. Me: Uh huh. Mom: And he said this word that I know means "blurry" but I don't know how he was saying it. Me: What do you mean? Mom: It sounded like aurry or asurry. Me: Um, you sure he didn't mean "blurry." Mom: What's "abarry?" Me: No mom, "blurry." Mom: "Barry?" Me: No. "Blurry." Mom: "Alurry?" Me: "Blur-ry." Mom: "Blar-ry." Bless her. XD
  14. Same issues here as well. Flushing DNS cache did not work unfortunately.
  15. Now now, we don't need to throw that stale argument around. :shame: F2Pers have a say in the game too, even if they don't pay. And while the article may not feel like feedback to some of us, it hopefully will give some insight on what some of the community is feeling right now. In the end we're all players of the game.
  16. I agree that we do tend to take firemaking for granted in the game, particularly once you're over a certain level and can start every fire without fail. However I'm not sure what you found 'refreshing' about the article, there was no new information there. It would have been good to see some imaginative ideas put forward....for example: a series of increasingly difficult fire building and making tasks that lead to the ability in constructing your own smithy in the grounds of your RS house. :P Or being wildly outrageous, what about fire used in combat? Setting firetraps or throwing firebombs that you have to light from a ground fire that you have built. I personally never looked at the history of fire itself outside of the game, thus why I found it refreshing. And no I don't mean just caveman stuff to. :P
  17. I personally found the fire article to be quite refreshing. It's something people take for granted quite often and don't think until it does something terrible. But for heat and cooking? Pfft. No one really gives a thought. Then comes a time when there's none and then the thinking begins. Only when negative things in relation to fire occur do we really think of it consciously I think. :) And firemaking was put into the game because on RuneScape classic stoves were rare.
  18. That is why I said Koren and not Chinese. I recognize diversity when I make my bigoted comments. Y... u... so... bad.... :wall:
  19. >.>' Fwiw I'm actually Chinese. And unfortunately, because of that, I get a lot of stupid jokes about people eating dogs like, "Oh so you got a dog. Are you gonna eat it?" >.<
  20. Does that mean Koreans also eat children? >_>'
  21. Now now play nice guys. Matt does have a point though, the US does have a TON of conventions. =P
  22. The official RS Wiki has a lot of errors... :| That being said, I do feel sorry for RS Wiki. It's going to be difficult to find out whether or not content is being copied over unless it was blatant copy-and-paste. :(
  23. Oh. My. GOD! I'd totally go New York or Los Angeles, probably more Los Angeles time and money permitting. :D
  24. Since the last blog entry brought some smiles, here goes some more from my life lol. After I finished washing the dishes from lunch, my dad, being slow as he is, finally comes over to the sink with his bowl and chopsticks. Me: Dad, why is it that you always wait until I'm done with the dishes before bringing your own stuff over? Dad: Just wait, when you get older your kids will say the same thing. Me: Uh who said I'm gonna have kids? Dad: (Literal translation here) I will spank the three of you if neither of you have kids! Me: Why in the world do you want us to have kids anyway? Have you see how bad the economy looks? I'm not gonna raise a kid in this! Dad: Oh, we just want grandchildren to play with and spoil, like the dog. #-o
