  2. Here's what I've seen, heard, and experienced as the best (for f2p): If your attack is lower than your strength: Battle axe If your attack is about the same as your strength: Longsword If your attack is higher than your strength: Scimitar This holds true for mid to mid-high attack levels (40 to ~75). Once you get higher combat skill levels, it's all personal preference--use speedofsound's post (with the following corrections) for what you want.
  3. Please, kids, think about what he's saying before you post a reply. What runnybabbit is saying is that a clock, displayed while you play (by looking at the sundials or perhaps by way of a pocket watch item), would be the "Standard Runescape Time." There would be no confusion about time zones if you say "I'll meet you in Fally square at 2:45 pm RST."
  4. It isn't actually lag. The running back and fourth is caused by clicking on the same place more than once (usually goes like: click, character walks a few steps, click, the "best" route from where you are has changed, and your character walks back to whence they started and goes the new route instead of just continuing). I don't know why this happens mechanically (read: in the code), but it's pretty easy to avoid. Here's how: Don't click multiple times, especially around a lot of obstacles around which your character has to walk. If you click somewhere on the map and your character just stands there, wait a few more seconds. In this case lag is likely the culprit, so just wait until your connection catches up to the server. I find that the best way to avoid running back and fourth like a decapitated chicken is to use the map, and click near the edge, then when my character is about three quarters of the way there, I click again near the edge of the map. I hope this helps! :3
  5. Yes. This can be implimented. New animations would be awesome but not necessary if Jagex took an easy route. Let me use elves (real elves, like D&D or Tolkein's elves) as an example to show how easy (for a decent programmer/graphic artist) it would be to take the current model and turn it into an elf. One, put ears on the head, without changing anything else. Two, stretch the height of the model by 10% (so the model is now 110% the height of the model now known as "human") and compress the width of it by 10% also. We now have a taller, leaner model with pointy ears (the ears would be most noticable in speech windows with NPCs). Please excuse the poor quality, this is just a cheap Photoshopping of my character with no equipment. The same could be done with making dwarven characters (60-70% height, 110-120% width) or whatever your heart desires. Additions like tails or other ears can just be "pasted" on the normal model (tails would appear even when armour is equipped, ears would not) and voila! This, however, is just my little idea of how adding "races" could work, don't take this as the only way it could come to pass.
  6. Or (in defence of those who are smart enough to escape), "[soandso] has escaped from your clutches. How about you go earn some money like a big boy?"
