Well they are called random events because they happen at random times. I have gotten a number of random events while continuing doing a certain task or after I was done doing a task. You are free to do as you wish, it's just not something I would recommend for your sake (especially if you wear expensive items while away from the computer). There have been many many posts on this forum from angry people compalining that they have been killed by randoms while looking away from their computer for just 1 minute.

MD666: if I was a member I probably would try to earn some money and buy a red one. But since im only f2p and there are only so many ways you can make money I just dont think I will ever catch up. All I can do is hope that the price of green mask rises part the price of blue or maybe even red. :? The reason other rares such as eggs and pumpkins wil never rise to as much as masks or phats is because noone knows you have them (unless you tell people). You can display a mask or a phat for all to see, but you can't really do that with the other rares.

How about some basis for your wild theory? Why would they even touch the rares? If noting, rares encourage people to play more and earn enough money to buy one. And what is "the right amount"? How would they decide what the right amount is? How would you feel if you paid 10mil gp for an iteam and the next day it was gone?

And just who is 'that person' that made the thread? I don't think Jagex will ever remove the rares from their game seing it as how most of the rares are owned by the top players and if removed, I predict a lot of people sending hate mail and stop playing the game altogether. Unless, of course, Jagex really does want to get rid of their top ranked players to give the new players a chance of reaching the top, which is very unlikely. I think rares are the only thing that keeps some people playing the game at all. Because they fluctuate so frequently in price (compared to the other items in the game) it's almost like a mini-stock market. I for one wouldn't have the same interest in RS if they were to remove rares from the game.

I was getting ready to buy a red mask (my fav color, didn't care about merching it off later) back when they were around 6mil. I had almost all the money together. All I had to do was sell 3k yews (they were 300 ea back then). I got scammed and instead of having 6mil, I had 5.1mil and out the window went my chances of ever owning a red mask. A week later the prices shot up to 8mil. ^This bit is just because I'm so deprived of any sympathy. Anyway I bought a green one instead for 3380k (just barely, I wouldn't give the guy 3.4m lucky for me he didn't walk away) Thats exactly how I feel. If I sell my green mask for 6.5m, I stil wouldn't be able to buy a red one because I'd only have 8.5mil. Then I wouldn't be able to buy a green one either because the price would probably go up. But on the other hand, I have noticed the gap in price between the masks rising greatly which means the longer I keep my green one, the less my chances are of ever owning a red one. Oh well. *sigh*

Jagex doesn't care what you do to your keyboard of mouse to keep yourself playing. The reason being is that they have absolutely no way of knowing what you are physicaly doing to your computer. Although I would not suggesting doing any of those things. Not because it's against the rules or unfair, but because it is a stupid thing to do. Maybe you are a new player and you don't own too many valuable items, or haven't had that many random events, but they do tend to happen at the worst possible times. Say you put a coin in your keyboard and go grab something to eat... It is very likely that you will get some sort of random event that will either kill you, or teleport you. Becides, is it really that much of a hassle to just log out and log in once in a while?

Runescape isnt all about skills. It's up to you how you play the game, it just seems more efficient to me to play f2p untill you get bored of it and then swich to p2p. If you're doing quests and working strictly on your member skills then I guess it doesn't make a difference, but you have to be a pretty decent level on the f2p skills if you want to really experience the member world. But this is way off topic :P

I would suggest not to buy membership untill you get your f2p skills to lvl 50 or so. Seems like a waste of money to me.

For some reason, I absolutely hate the blue mask. The color is just way too strong for me. I'm surprised it costs that much more than the green mask. But if I could have one mask, it would definately be the red one. :P

Yea, I was gona get a red mask back when they were 6mil, unfortunately I fell for a really stupid scam and lost 900k. Less than a week later the prices went up to 8mil :(

Most of the time you can tell if someone is a scammer just by looking at their name. Usually it's a combination of "rune" "tip" "hq" "anti" ect..

I don't know where these people come from, or how they find me, but here is another one that happened just this morning. I wasn't even going to save the conversation, but then I thought o well might as well play with this guy and see how far I can take it. Broken up into 2 parts because the size is too big. Aww.. I think I hurt his feelings. O well, that's what he gets for trying to scam people. :P

Hahah I know, I can't believe he actually went and tried it. :lol: That's because you recieve a message from a "name" and you send a message to the "name" Whenever you have some free time on your hands send a message to a friend, if you have one, and see what it says. I doubt I could make up anything as funny as this. "make log out you ban!"

I left the name in the original because I thought it was hillarious that he would try to scam people with a name like that. Bescides, I doubt it's his main character anyway. "I can see all of runescape" lmao what does that even mean? :D

They get funnier and funnier every time. :lol: :lol: Just a little word of advice, if you are going to try to scam someone, make sure you can atleast speak the language with somewhat proficiency. :lol: :lol: Feel free to post the finniest scam attempts you have had.

According to jagex this new box is going to replace the old one so as not to discriminate against the colorblind people that play the game. Not really sure if they were making a bad joke or where serious. There is no real difference between this one and the old one, except for the fact that it "humms". Does anyone remember what was the description of the old box when you examine it?
