Rawrr.. So, I'm hanging out training agility today in the wildy. Unarguably the best agility experience you'll find in this game since no one was cool enough to add it to the pest control list.. Hey, I think I need to post that idea in suggestions forum.. But ANY-WAY.. I'm running around in circles like a chicken with its head cut off.. Except a little more organized-like, showing off my pretty dd(p) that I pk'ed a few weeks ago on this same course, and thinking to myself how cool the History Channel is. I'm minding my own business, trying to get to 70 agility (sidenote, I started at 64 today, up to 68 at the moment, yay), and I notice my movements have come to a screeching halt. Now, this puzzles me, because the only other companion I have had for the past hour is a nice little fella with the same gear as me, certainly no entangle/bind runes.. Odd. Being 104 combat, I'm certainly not impervious to the dangers of this wilderness area, so I quickly struggle to gain my senses back. I'm looking at my health bar, its around 60/85, I'm okay. I glance around the screen to see a nice fella in perty robes.. Oh, he just cast ice barrage on me.. Yeah, that 24 kinda hurt.. Hmm.. I'm kind of taken aback, there is actually an ancient mage trying to kill me for the 7 monkfish in my pack.. I do some quick in head calculations and am pretty sure the runes he just used are worth well more than my fish, so I just continue to glance at my screen. 2 dds specs from his friend and it hits me, this guy actually PM'ed a friend to come cast an ice spell on me in the agility course.. Wtf? I quickly eat a fish and take the time to casually ask why they're wasting their time.. No response.. Oh, hey, I"M FREE! I quickly consider just sitting there and dying, but then refuse to give them the satisfaction of my hard earned monkfish (not really, anyone else realize how insanely easy these things are to fish?), so I quickly chow down on a few peices of snackfood and takeoff. I run across the balance beam, sort of do a little dance wondering if the mage can still hit me from across the beam (he can't, w00t), and then its off to the races. I quickly climb my tired toosh up those rocks and run as fast as I can without touching any of the obstacles. Oddly enough, if the mage had just turned around and starting running the reverse way of his friend, they would have had me in the old classic pincer move. But I guess that is what this thread is about... I am calling all agility pk'ers to answer the simple question: Are my monkfish really that valuable? I mean heck, I KNOW I'm cool, I didn't know everyone else was sooooo obsessed with me as well though. I'm sorry, the reason I have 63 or something prayer is so that I can protect one of those fishies along with keeping my dds, so what exactly is your motivation? Hehe, I think writing this all up has taken enough time for my little friends to move along.. Back to training =]

How is Xing out your screen against the rules? LMAO. How long does it take for you to log? I've heard of people doing it while getting attacked in wildy.. Couldn't imagine doing it though, I'd be too afraid of dying.

\ Thank you. Glad someone here as the intellect to notice its not always about the trip itself, but maybe the fun and enjoyment behind it. Why everyone else has allowed this to devolve into an argument on "who went to dags first", and "who made it cool", is beyond me. That certainly wasn't my intent. And I'll say it one more time because my friends deserve the clarity, I'd trust any of them with all of my RS stuff anyday of the week. But then again I've never been one to really get too upset over a game =\ Good to see tipit is still a cut above the rest. :roll:

No, I trust him completely. It was the mage that got them and tbh, we wouldn't have known if he did shout it. I'm sorry, I took his line out of context lol, we had only saw him say he got the daxe, so he was just saying that he WOULDN'T lie to us and told us about the ring too. Sorry, made him sound like a real scammer haha. Didn't mean to. I trusted them to pickup my things when I got KO'd, and they did and gave back right away. Wasn't anything of that sort :D And I'm 105 cmb.. I know its probably too noobish, but I had a good team to protect me. :(

Well, a few buds pulled me away from my pitiful attempts at skilling to go to dag kings. Being that I'd never been, I set off with anticipation. Full veracs, and an invent of all the usual pots, and bright beaming eyes looking for the ilusive mud staff. Well, all goes well getting there. I'm lucky enough to pray at the right times and follow my dear friends down to the final level.. And then go down the ladder as I lose my virginity to those illustrious kings. Hah, kidding. Anyway, I get down there, everything starts out fine. Mage and range are doing great. Me and one other perosn are meleeing.. To be honest, I really don't understand the large scope of it all. I'm very focused in making sure to pot and eat and try and hit my target.. I hardly notice the huge maging beast not even 10 feet away.. Soon enough I slip up, I had switched from mage pray to range when mage king died, and then I lost it.. Mage came back, I switched prayer to.. to.. MELEE! Woot. Didn't take long before my buds were shouting frantically MAGE PRAY MAGE PRAY MAGE PRAY.. I see a 50 and a 17, quickly eat a shark, don't realize they're all yelling at my stupidity, and.. Whoa, whats this? ..These walls look much more familiar and less menacing then they did in my previous eyelid shutter.. Oh, I'm in fally. ..Taking a few seconds to sink in, I kindly ask someone to grab my helm for me, and they gladly oblige. Now I'm getting mad. I went expecting loot, not a tele to fally. This is very upsetting, so I quickly buy some more pots and insist we go again. I'm a very vengeful person, and I'm determined to extract the cost of fixing my helm out on my new found enemies. So I drop flail, pull out whip and obby shield for more range protection, and we head back, with me hoping not to give a clanmate another helm drop. :P Finally we arrive for our second time, everything goes great, we finish up pretty quick because our mage messed up. Still not a successful trip, and so we decide to head out for a third and final time. I restock my pots and put on my game face (trust me, its pretty darn scary). We get there, and its like MAGIC. Everything works out great. I'm potting, hitting, switching prayer like a pro. I think I used 5 sharks in the time it took to drink two (4) dose ppots. Everyone is switching and hitting great. Eventually we all start running out of supplies, not prematurely like the first two trips, but after a long and exhausting battle with our dear friends. So, back in Cammy and I still notice no loot in my invent, despite getting some great whip hits and beating my level 111 counterpart to a few kills, which I was pretty happy with alone. But alas, nothing worthwhile to show.. or was there? All of a sudden I see a message pop up on IRC.. "I can't lie to you guys, it'd curse me forever, I got two good drops, serker and d axe". What? ...What? ....WHAT? My revenge was complete. Not only did I gain a great experience and have a lot of fun, but I'm about 2M up and not even done my clue from dags yet. I think we should all pay a bit of homage to our fallen kings. :)

While its true cannonballs are easy to sell, they are EXTREMELY time consuming to make. They are by far the slowest thing to smith/smelt in the game. Its not like smelting normal bars, the time difference is VERY noticable. But, if you're patient/don't care about time.. I guess its one way to go.. If you're going members, you can always smith iron bars into iron knives, they sell for 45 each, bars sell for 225 each, so you break even on every bar.. =\

I'd be surprised if it was that high. Dunno, I just love the fishing exp. Sharks only give 110, these are 120 and they're way faster. I <3 monkfish. :P

Best melee armour you can get, whip/dds (I used dds), and protect from magic. Bring a few lobs if you're a lower level, but with dds spec I had it down to 1/4 health.. The melee armour is for when it does use melee on you.. For the most part it attacked me with mage, but it did hit for a few good'uns. I think its max hit is like a 13, so keep your HP over 25-30 to be safe.

Tipit's cooking guide. And I think 95 with gauntlets is for sharks.. Since monkfish have a cooking req 18 lower, I doubt its that high, I may be wrong though.

Is there some master list of this stuff? I remember dying in full guthans in barrows and I kept helm, pl8, and skirt over the darn spear.. Was a bit cheesed at the time :P

I know I've heard of it before, but I know it can't just be a normal system update, or everyone would be trading phats last few seconds before an update, lol. So, whats the deal? So.. That whole essence thing was COMPLETELY worthless now? Gee, thanks Jagex! *runs to watch all the autoers continue to get rich off any kind of ess they can manage to get their hands on* Smooth. GJ on the void knight minigame though, no more freeloadin' in the boat haha. I definitely love the new loading screen with your login info etc. Looks AMAZING compared to the trash it was. :P

eBay isn't all. There are hundreds of sites dedicated to buying/selling of gold not only for cash, but also for items such as Xbox, PS2, etc. It is a thriving business and probably has more USD cash flow than Jagex' active members does. You honestly think one update is going to fix that? They didn't even do much of a job trying to fix it lol. The only thing they fixed is how many more member accounts will be macroing instead of F2P. I really hate being rude like that, but it is kind of a pitiful scheme, in my opinion. =\

Granted, I've long since gotten out of the business, but I'd imagine not much has changed in a few months. It is more than true, lol. I also have a lot of friends who own websites (I've coded most of them) and trust me, they do AMAZING business. It isn't illegal in any way. If you tried to bring someone up in US court for selling in game items a judge would laugh their [wagon] off. Along with the fact that many countries have varying kinds of copyright laws. For instance, websites such as ThePirateBay that offer "illegal" downloads can't be touched because Sweden does not recognize US copyright laws.

Haha, you do have a good point except for one thing: There are hardly ANY decent log cutting scripts aside from a willow cutter. Ess still sells better than willows and as such will still be more prominant. Nothing was done to stop ess scripting, just to stop F2P scripting. They just want them to move to members like flax pickers do. BTW, custom made scripts rarely get banned. Its usually mass released scripts, hence why not everyone in the RS world has their own GP selling website, its usually a privelage of those who have the knowledge to custom script their own work and therefore make it a huge step above the rest. Keeping it to themselves entitles them to its secrets.

Okay, so by now 99% of you have heard about, cried or jumped for joy because of, and flamed or praised Jagex for, their update dealing with rune essence, right? Well, good, you've just wasted a day of your life (unless of course you were one of the lucky to make big bucks off the update, I myself sold 500k pure ess for 55 each, so no complaints here). Now, heres what I really want to point out: Websites and people who sell Runescape gold make THOUSANDS of dollars in profit a week. I'm not bs'ing or blowing smoke in your face, it is a real and honest truth. Mils sell for $10-$15 a piece, meaning someone with 1 party hat already has close to $1,000+ CASH sitting in pixels. At the current price of essence, it would take 25,000 ess to equal 1M GP. That 1M GP equals $15USD. Nevermind the fact that they usually bump their prices after updates like this to milk extra cash out of their current stockpiles. After the mass ban mils went from nearlu $8 a mil to well over $16+ on the major sites. Wait, what, membership costs $5/mo? Lmao. These macroers can have 25+ accounts logged on at any given time. Some websites have over 2,000 accounts to themselves alone. You honestly think they haven't gotten to 30 mining in the past 2 years they've been macroing? Yeah, thats right kids, Jagex has bought themselves a week or so of whining, scamming, price [bleep]es, and the like for little to nothing more than extra cash in THEIR pocket. The one and ONLY thing this update has done is to force autoers to pay Jagex a measely $15/mo (3 accs avg) to be rich in real life. As if thats a huge deterrent for $1,000+ a week. I figured I'd point that out for everyone who is peeing themselves over this update. Wait 2 weeks at the most and all the macros will update their butts to members worlds and you can have your cheap ess back. Mkay? Jagex has been trying for years to stop cheats, if you honestly think a pitiful update like this is going to put a permanent end to it you're crazy. There are already plenty of macro'ers who pick flax for profit, as if they wont pay the $5 for the ess. Anywho, I'm not trying to be extremely rude or cynical, just thought I'd post that little bit of food for thought for everyone crying and contemplating quitting over this minor tweak in the system. If you get on a good team, a game maybe takes 2-3min, thats like 30k exp/hour.. If I'm just straight training I usually get between 30-37k/hour with whip, so for not doing a dang thing its still very good exp. Plus if I'm using it on mage/range/prayer, I don't have to pay for runes/arrows/bones.. =\ I just about guarantee Jagex will have to change this somehow..

..I'm sorry, but I think this was a very BAD update. Now granted, I am currently sitting in a battle collecting free experience, but really it amounts to lower-leveled players earning free experience off the work of others. Even as I type this, I'll probably earn a few thousand combat experience pts and never kill a single monster, and when I am active I've noticed TONS of people just sitting in the boat and collecting free exp. In my personal opinion, they might as well just let macros go, I mean its the same concept, have someone else get experience for you, its kind of a joke. I know a lot of people AFK at bandits and stuff, but this is really ridiculous. At least there you run the risk of losing stuff from a random if you don't pay SOME attention, but I can honestly not do a darn thing and just earn thousands of exp in this minigame without the risk of losing a nickel. In fact, I've made 7k GP since starting this post, and lord knows how many thousands of combat exp as I know I've gotten around 6VP so far lol.. *Heres to taking advantage of it before Jagex mucks it all up* :P
