  1. Exactly, my point exactly. Lionheart was saying that an infinite number of moments has passed before now, and I think that isn't possible, because you would have to assign a value to this "number". No, by my definition we can never actually show, in actuality, all of the digits in pi. Just like there are an infinite number of points F between points A and B, doesn't mean that there is an actual infinite - it's just a theory, because these points don't take up time/space - if we tried to write them all down, it would be impossible, because there isn't enough time/space to hold it. You're looking at time the completely wrong way. A: time doesn't need a spatial area to exist, so, no ammount of time can be "too large for space". B: You're trying to quantize time. Time isn't quantized in the sense that, say, apples are quantized. Time is measured by it's passage. Ever hear of Einstine's General Theory of Relativity? Time infact DOES need Space to exist. Time and Space are very closely related. That is why it is called Time-Space is Astro-Physics. And may I point out just one more tiny thing? WHY ARE WE ARGUING ABOUT INFINITY?!?! TIME IS FINITE. SPCACE IS FINITE. WHEN BIG BANGS AND BIG CRUNCHES HAPPEN TIME AND SPACE WILL CEASE TO EXIST BE RE-BORN. Also... For the person who said Matter will always exist... You're wrong... When all the anti-matter in the Universe meets all the Matter, all that will be of the Universe will be a big void full of energy. This Energy will then compress itself into a singularity which will result in Time-Space being re-created in another Big Bang. An infinite ammount of time may exist in an extremely finite ammount of space. This is what I was talking about. You say time and space cease to exist when the big crunch happens. I disagree. The space is still there, it's just totally and completely void of anything. Time in our relational sense does cease to exist, I suppose you could say, but time in an overarching sense continues, unaffected. Time-Space ITSELF is compressed into singularity through all the energy exposure due to the Annhilation of the Matter/Anti-Matter. There is no "space void". There is Nothing Period. Currently the "edge" of our Universe is expanding at the speed of light(Evidence has been found by the Hubble Space Telescope to prove this... This also puts the Big-Bang into the highly-probable-because-there-is-supporting-evidence category). When the Big-Crunch happens Time-Space itself will also compress into singularity as there is nothing to support/hold it.
  2. Read my post Pl0X? "Almost" exactly what I said... Except I used the Galactic Rotational Problem instead of the Dwarf Galaxy Paradox.
  3. I eat toasted sandwiches if that counts... The Invidious Sandwich. Three slices of bread. 1 thick slab of ham (grilled) 3 strips of bacon. 1 slice of yellow cheese. Mustard. Now put the slice of ham with the bacon and cheese inbetween two of the slices of bread with some mustard. Toast it. Also toast the other piece of bread seperately. Now put the following items on top of the toasted sandwich. Sliced tomatos. Shredded lettuce. A burger (grilled). Onions (grilled). 2 slices of white cheese. Now put a little bit of ketchup and mayo on top then cover it with the last piece of toasted bread.

  6. Where do you get the liquid metal flowing in our Core? Actually... The metals in the core of the Earth are solid. They are under so much pressure that even at that temperature, they do not melt.
  7. ill jump in on this and say what i say in all these debates, this is just that something better you are looking for (imo). the big bang that happened billions of years ago or whatever isnt the start of the universe, it was just a start of this stage. there has been an infinite amount of big bangs, each followed by a big crunch. there will be an infinite amount of big bangs in the future, but first we have to crunch again. to look on a time line: a big bang happens immediatly after a big crunch, the entire universe comes to one place just one plank length wide (10^-33 meters), once it reaches that length it bangs. it has been doing this forever, and will continue forever. there is no beginning, there is no end. You left out the most important part... Time/Space also restarts. Time Zero is the moment of the Big Bang. Nothing exists "Before" it as we are talking about Time itself re-starting.
  8. If that actually happened, I wonder why it exploded... Keep wonderin'. It's taken scientists years and they still haven't worked it out. Actually, they have. The Universe was initially a huge thingy of energy. The energy was compressed into something smaller than a atom. Then Time/Space began as the energy singularity exploded, then turned into matter and anti-matter. As the result of the explosion the "walls" of the universe are still expanding(This has actually been proven by the Hubble Space Telescope). Sooner or later, some astro-physists believe that the universe will colapse back in on itself as the strain of the mass grows too large for the "walls" of the universe to hold. However even if they add in vast amounts of Dark Matter the amount of it goes nowhere near enough to collapse our universe. The "end" of our Universe will most likely come when all the matter in the universe meets the anti-matter. When this happens the matter and anti-matter cancel eachother out and produce massive amounts of energy. This energy will most likely result in the creation of another big-bang. Where the energy came from or why it compressed is a mystery. Many claim this as the proof of Gods existence. I was reading a small article on dark matter a few weeks ago.. and I agreed with what it had to say, which was basically that dark matter doesn't exist. The only reason scientists theorize darkmatter is because supposedly things don't fit into the equations we have, the author of the article surmised that our equations were simply wrong, and it makes more sense to just rewrite the equations. Make a square hole. Don't pound a square peg into a round one. Then how do you explain the gravitic anomalies that we keep recording around certain quasars and black holes? And for the record... Dark matter was not contrived because some equations did not fall-out clean. I think you are referring to the theory that the Universe will collapse back in on itself because of the "Weight" of all the mass on the "Walls". However when put into equation the amount of mass neeed to collapse the "Walls" of the Universe was actually quite larger than the actually amount of recorded mass in our universe. Therefore to explain this lack of mass the astro-physists tried to put a significant amount of Dark Matter into the equation. However even then, there wasn't enough. However Dark Matter was first proposed to explain the gravitic anomalies not the lack of mass. I guess I'm not farmiliar with the gravitic anomolies.. could you explain them, or provide links to readings on the subject? Re-reading the article, the equation(s) are those of gravitational pull, that galaxies don't have enough mass to hold themselves together in the way that they do, and that they should be falling apart. I dunno, I obviously am not extremely knowledgeable on the subject... so, let me know if I'm just spouting crap. (none of the above was intended to be rude or otherwise insulting) The gravitic anomalus that I am speaking of are stars that are not acting the way they should. They are moving (Waving actually) towards an area of space that has less mass than another direction. The only explanation for this is that a "Unseen" mass/gravity is pulling on the stars. As for the Galaxy thingy? I havn't heard of it. The only thing galaxy related to Dark Matter would be the Galactic Rotational Problem. And guess what? It is EVIDENCE that Dark Matter EXISTS. Take a look at this. I got it off of Wikipedia. This SUPPORTS the Dark Matter Theory. Note: I am not trying to be scathing in any manner. The capitals are merely there to put emphasis on certain words.
  9. My luckiest day would be the day that I met my first "serious" gf...

  11. Nope. Over the course of 14 billion years the cosmic dust that was scattered by the big bang started to stick to eachother(Because of gravity) and the larger the particles got, the higher the gravity. So big hunks 'O cosmic dust formed. These eventually grew large enough to form stars... From stars? The stars went supernova which releases matter into the surrounding space. This forms planets.

  14. when I spent time in the states i would either leave some candy on the porch or make traps with my friend. I would set up trip-wires which would cause a water balloon to come crashing down on the spot... but usually i simply bombarded them with a 0.735 BB and some water balloons... a lawn hose PWNS aswell but ive only seen it used....another idea could be to just leave the house and go to a party (effective except one time i got back and my door was egged) but THE most effective way to stop em is to put E-Z manure on the driveway, but washing it off is a pain...
