  1. temp ban for not using spoilers goes a little bit far, IMO. But yea, the thing would be great!
  2. They'll probably make one or two movies after Johny Depp leaves. Because he's the sole reason the movies are so popular.
  3. They were probably working on it before the death of Irwin. So they just made the movie, and added the Irwin part in it later. But ah well, it's an animation movie. Kids go there for the fun, they don't see that stuff. And it makes it a little bit more than a children movie for older folks. Why are you wasting your good time on an animated movie anyway. Go see some good drama, instead of some quickly produced animal computer-animation flick.
  4. Well, Killer's Kiss is one hour and four minutes or something. A Countess from Hong Kong is only one hour and fortyfive minutes. And I only watched the first hour of Peeping Tom. :P This monday I had: Shattered Glass Videodrome The Servant Ed Wood
  5. Yesterday aftenoon I went to a friend and he wanted to see Heat which I had seen not too long ago. But I'm a good friend so we watched it. And it was still pretty good. After that I moved on to Killer's Kiss and it was fun to see a young Kubrick at work, there are some moments of greatness but overall it's still pretty average. Then I saw A Countess from Hong Kong which is Chaplin's last movie. And it isn't very good, neither is it very bad. Sophia Loren super good looking as usual and Brando puts up a nice character, although he isn't really a 'funny man' and had some conflicts with Chaplin. After that I saw the first hour of Peeping Tom which was very promosing, but I was tired so I watch the rest of it later. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand. Yes, Yes, Yes! I almost bursted out in tears when I saw it. I'm going to see OTTO E MEZZO (one of my favorite movies) in theater the 23th of January!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D
  6. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to get some *active* mods as well. I mean, Off Topic now has Sluggy, Weezcake and Loge. And the only one I see regularly is Loge. I hardly see Weezcake and Sluggy. What's the point to have them in the moderating list if they hardly show any interest in the particular forum.
  7. It does take money to make a movie, of course. :) And the Converse trainers go for the same thing as the Aston Martin in Bond. Del takes the trainers to show he's a 'classic' man. It's not like Converse had to sell more shoes.
  8. For German movies check out some of Wim Winder's work, or Fassbinder, Herzog & Kinski are good as well. :) And the German pre-30s work is pretty interesting as well. ;) I haven't seen too much German movies though. That might be because of Germany never really had a peek after the thirties. Something like Italy, France or England.

Isn't it something dirty like don't wash your hair for 10 years and *wham* you have dreads. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreadlocks
  10. Ed Wood last day brought a little tear to my eye.
  11. Frank Zappa - JOE'S GARAGE! A boring old garage in a residential area with a teenage band rehearsing in it. JOE (the main character in the CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER'S Special Presentation) sings to us of the trials and tribulations of garage- band husbandry. JOE: It wasn't very large There was just enough room to cram the drums In the corner over by the Dodge It was a fifty-four With a mashed up door And ÃÆÃâÃâàcheesy little amp With a sign on the front said "Fender Champ" And a second-hand guitar It was a Stratocaster with a whammy bar At this point, LARRY(a guy who will eventually give up music and earn a respectable living as a roadie for a group called Toad-O) joins in the song... LARRY: We could jam in Joe's Garage His mama was screamin' His dad was mad We was playin' the same old song In the afternoon 'n' sometimes we would Play it all night long It was all we knew, 'n' easy too So we wouldn't get it wrong All we did was bend the string like... Hey! Down in Joe's Garage We didn't have no dope or LSD But a coupla quartsa beer Would fix it so the intonation Would not offend yer ear And the same old chords goin' over 'n' over Became a symphony We would play it again 'n' again 'n' again 'Cause it sounded good to me ONE MORE TIME! We could jam in Joe's Garage His mama was screamin', "TURN IT DOWN!" We was playin' the same old song In the afternoon 'n' sometimes we would Play it all night long It was all we knew, and easy too So we wouldn't get it wrong Even if you played it on a saxophone We thought we was pretty good We talked about keepin' the band together 'N' we figured that we should 'Cause about this time we was gettin' the eye From the girls in the neighborhood They'd all come over 'n' dance around like... Twenty teen-age girls dash in and go STOMP-CLAP, STOMP-CLAP-CLAP... So we picked out ÃÆÃâÃâàstupid name Had some cards printed up for a coupla bucks 'N' we was on our way to fame Got matching suits 'N' Beatle Boots 'N' a sign on the back of the car 'N' we was ready to work in a GO-GO Bar ONE TWO THREE FOUR LET'S SEE IF YOU GOT SOME MORE! People seemed to like our song They got up 'n' danced 'n made a lotta noise An' it wasn't 'fore very long A guy from a company we can't name Said we oughta take his pen 'N' sign on the line for a real good time But he didn't tell us when These "good times" would be somethin' That was really happenin So the band broke up An' it looks like We will never play again... JOE: Guess you only get one chance in life To play a song that goes like... And, as the band plays their little song, MRS. BORG (who keeps her son, SY, in the closet with the vacuum cleaner) screams out the window... MRS. BORG: Turn it down! Turn it DOWN! I have children sleeping here... Don't you boys know any nice songs? JOE: (Speculating on the future) Well the years was rollin' by Heavy Metal 'n Glitter Rock Had caught the public eye Snotty boys with lipstick on Was really flyin' high 'N' then they got that Disco thing 'N' New Wave came along 'N' all of a sudden I thought the time Had come for that old song We used to play in "Joe's Garage" And if I am not wrong You will soon be dancin to... CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER: The WHITE ZONE is for loading and unloading only. If you gotta load or unload, go to the WHITE ZONE. You'll love it... JOE: Well the years was rollin' by (etc.)... MRS. BORG: I'm calling THE POLICE! There! I did it! They'll be here...shortly! OFFICER BUTZIS: This is the Police... We have the garage surrounded If you come out with your hands up We guarantee you won't be harmed Or hurt, neither (SWAT Team 4, move in!) MRS. BORG: He used to cut my grass... He was a very nice boy... CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER: This is the CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER... That was Joe's first confrontation with The Law. Naturally, we were easy on him. One of our friendly counselors gave him A do-nut... and told him to Stick closer to church-oriented social activities.
  12. Yea, I've seen parts of it. Never seen the entire thing. A bit too grim for my likings. But I should go trough to it fully sometime. :P Went to the cinema yesterday and saw: Perfume: The Story of a Murderer - Left me a little bith a MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA feeling. First hour was really good, and cinematography over all was, well, brillaint (for your consideration! ;)). After that it got a little bit less, what it was I couldn't really say. But shortly after the entrance in Grasse the movie kind of lost me. It came back quite well a few times, but something didn't feel right. I must say I was quite surprised to see Hoffman in his role as a crazy perfumist (he's not the main character btw), and he did very good. I was less statisfied about the normally great Alan Rickman. Music was very good, and Hurt's voice-over was, as usual, very good. Indy is probably interested to see this one, as Tykwer (Lola Rennt) directed this one. I'm going for a 7 out of 10 btw. :)
  13. I thought the song was alright. :)
  14. I don't really see what's wrong with it. Other than the music.
  15. Yea, it was really special. I'm still amazed how they dissected all the vains. Only vains, nothing else. To those who haven't seen and have the chance to see it, I'd deffinitly go!
  16. Had some money left from snowboarding so just went to town for some titles: Peeping Tom (1960) The Servant Morte a Venezia A Countess from Hong Kong The Seven Year Itch (2-disc) Shattered Glass
  17. There currently is a new exhibition showing in a few big cities. And it's called BODIES. It's an exhibition that shows you dissected bodies, real bodies to display the human body, you can see all the veins, you can look at how your muscles work and what makes them work. Everything is dissected, from a spine, to a man that's in a possition like he's playing football (soccer) with all his muscles cut loose at one part and folded into the air that you can see all his muscle layers, the smokers lungs, and even a room with fetesus in the different stadia (from week three to 32 if I remember correctly). Now there has been quite some contreversy about this exhibition lately. Especially due to where the bodies are from. As in not being donated. But unclaimed chinese bodies. So, has anybody seen this exhibition, or the similar exhibition Body Worlds? What did you think of it, what do you think of it's controverse? I've seen the exhibition myself last saturday. And I thought it was quite interesting, and really good looking as well. However I did have some mixed feelings on how the bodies came there. These people never gave like, what's the word, permission to use their bodies. They were unclaimed, and science just, well, used them. It's a bit 'wrong' I think, I however did enjoy the exhibition. 18. Sad days for the OT section, as two very good mods resigned. but I hope (and think) that there will come some new quality moderators to 'replace' them. Cool you're staying in the community though, Insane! And a word of thanks is in place as well, same goes for Phil. :)
  19. Favorite is of course a good and rare, juicy entrecote or rib-eye. Of course I'll manage with some really spicey chicken in a curry as well. Or some godly marinated spareribs.
  20. I didn't think it was the typical Bond wit. The humor in this movie is a lot more character based, unlike the humor in other Bond movies. He still has his one liners, but they aren't that bad as usual and they don't have the same timing as the other always used to have, for example: after a kill. And yea, Bond was much more 'real', than previously.
  21. Heh. bond in a ford, that was my thought as well. :P But overall the movie was pretty damn good! Eva Green! <3 Drool.
  22. Shichinin no Samurai new criterion 3-disc (yay!) Satyricon (Fellini version) le salaire de la peur L'AnnÃÆÃâÃâée derniÃÆÃâÃâère ÃÆÃâÃâàMarienbad Nostalghia Videodrome Killer's Kiss Intolerance: Love's Struggle Throughout the Ages Ed Wood Sigur Ros - ()
  23. Casino Royale - I saw this in the most beautiful hall of Holland, we were lucky to have it. :P Here's some pics of it first. :) I mean, how awesome is that? And then Bond. Wow! It was very good. Really un-bondish. He didn't kill with his charisma and cheesy one-liners, he was rock hard, no mercy. And he actually had to work for everything. It was a great change for a dying franchise. Too bad for the fanboys, good for everybody else. P.S. Craig was great!
  24. I've been down that road. :'( Just treat yourself once, Ghost! :')
