  1. I think Jagex should modify the interface of the game, as I have already stated above not only that, I did not state that they would be a food product, as that is not realistic, but if you read Moby [bleep] they use the whales to make oil, prehaps we could have some use of that.
  2. do you have anything nicer to say??? like maybe enchourage people you're not going to be respected if you're just a jerk to everyone!!!
  3. you can't believe everything that is on wikipedia, and you certainly can't assume that the chinese were the first people to invent it, note that the western civilization was oblivious to the the eastern civilization until Marco Polo explored that area. Likewise, it is accepted as fact that the Chinese invented fireworks, pasta, gliders, and numerous other things. The idea is that if it is accepted as fact, then it would have no trouble being implemented into games as such. As was apparently the case in that Age of Empires game, so it could be here. I don't see a computer game as a rellivant source I never said it was, my dear dgd1788. I was saying that it being in another computer game was a byproduct of it having been accepted as fact. Regardless of the actual validity of one stating "crossbows were invented in China," if that statement is generally accepted, it is free to be used as a "fact" - at least one true enough to be put in a game with magic and monsters, and the like. I think we can repose now, and I am very sorry that I did not understand you at the time of my first post.

  5. you can't believe everything that is on wikipedia, and you certainly can't assume that the chinese were the first people to invent it, note that the western civilization was oblivious to the the eastern civilization until Marco Polo explored that area. the islamic civilisation made contact with the chinese before the first crusade (in the 12th century), where they may have found that crossbow. Then the crusade and the islamic settlment in corduba could easily have exposed the information to the europeans. i'm not saying this is true, however it is completely possible either it is possible or it is impossible and we do not know anything until we ask a professional historian, the internet is quite deceiving sometimes. no, i know the islamic civisation made contact with the chinese in the 12th century, and i know they had a settlemnt in corduba - what i meant was that i don;t know if this is the way it happened - this is just a way it could have happened ok, I understand now

  8. when I was talking to my friend about games that would help you understand economics a little better, He told me that Runescape is the one, that it is an economic simulation, and it defines a very great deal of key aspects of economics including: money, competition, and believe it or not there is a central government in Runescape, that everyone needs to discover. Money is what you need in order to put yourself on your feet, to organize your wants and neccesities, and sets a guideline within the government, that if you really want this you need to earn it. Competition in runescape is that of competition in the business world, to be the best that you can be, and survive. remember this, that the government in runescape will help you, follow the rules, set an example, preservere in all that you can, and trust Jagex, thank them for the wonderful game that they created. it's up to you to determine your future in the game!!! I am sure there are plenty of people that would be willing to opine gladly we see eye to eye of course this thread is opinionated
  9. I would consider myself a bafoon
  10. please sticky this :D
  11. The first EVER metal ships were made during the American Civil War. There shouldn't be different wood types, it should be just Scooner, pirvateer, galleon, etc. You should be required to have different types of wood for different parts of the boat. A general part of the boat and then a number for it. Example: The mast 100 yew logs, the Flooring 500 Willow logs, Furnishings (tables, chairs, etc.) 300 oak, the body of the boat 1500 Regular logs. Your suggestion is saying we actually purchase the boat. I think most would find it more rewarding if you built the boat. Same thing I posted in the Maritime skill, I can then just jump to Entrana with all my weapons and monopolize the Greater demons there. I was very obsessed with the civil war back when I was 8 years old, The civil war was with iron clads, armoured ships and a version of a submarine note that I am not trying to be rude in any way and jagex has confirmed that, I believe He is thinking about if they modified the interface for the game
  12. thats a good idea We are not allowed to use those ships for our own Well I was not thinking of a modified selection of boats, have you ever heard of the expression keeping it real??? that makes since, Runescape does need to be more interesting
  13. you stole my idea read my post, "Maritime Skill" anyways, your idea blows!!! I am very sorry, I did not mean to flame great minds think alike
  14. This has pretty much been on my mind for weeks, but to make it frankly Maritime is like shipbuilding and setting out on voyages, and also war. At any rate I was thinking that the maritime skill would help with getting about places. The first thing you can make is a raft, in which you will need 5 normal logs, thread, and a staff to row. As you row along the rivers, you might crash into rocks, and as you get higher levels you will not crash as often. the crafts that you make will also differ in speed, for instance a raft will only move at the rate of 1 whereas a ship will move at the rate of 10, and steam rollers will move at the rate of 20. Where 20 is the maximum rate. Pking is also involved in maritime skill, you will be able to sink peoples ships, but you can't retrieve their items. Merchanting is also involved, you can make a ship and sell it for alot of money. you can even store things on your ship if you want to be a merchant and sail everywhere to sell your goods, and dock somewhere and just have it be your home. it will take a long time to make large ships, a maximum of 2 normal days(not runescape days), and you can hire npcs to make your ship, so you only have to wait 1 hour for completion. sailing the ocean will be very risky as there are obstacles like storms and very large animals that can destroy your ship, and send you to lumbridge. river sailing is the most risky as there are rocks that you need to move out of the way. Cannon balls could also be used when in times of war, with the same way that you make cannon balls for Dwarve cannons. Clans would also have a blast on ships, because the two ships could range and mage at eachother, furthermore you can be a pirate. sailing the seas of runescape, and attacking merchant ships for a worthy plunder of goods. You can be a captain and hold your own crew, with a series of warriors you can be a viking warship and ram into other people's ships. what would it be like to use your slayer skill in a new quest based on Herman Mellvile's "Moby [bleep]"? that would be interesting wouldn't it??? you can also fish with the boat you just made, to make rise to whaling in Runescape. Well for one thing Jagex would need to change the interface of the game furthermore than I thought before this can happen, but I have thought of a plan. 1. increase the AI, start out by creating advanced NPCs that can interpret certain behavior in Runescape. 2. After you have created an advanced AI, Persue the update, and keep it as a project. 3. use the AI system with the new skill, afterwards add it to the entire game. I need more suggestions so keep it coming!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope you like my idea and am very eager to listen to people's opinions thanks, dgd1788 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- from other players
